Instead, the energy she brought to the table was so negative that by the end of dinner, our happy group was tired, uncomfortable, and ready to go home. It is amazing how one person's attitude can completely change an evening. We ordered a full meal, and the bill came to around $300. After such poor service, we certainly would not have chosen to leave a 20% tip--only to discover that a 20% gratuity had been automatically added because we were a larger party. I understand automatic gratuities for large groups, but it is incredibly frustrating to be required to leave 20% on a roughly $300 bill for service that was genuinely unpleasant.
