Pulling up to the door, I was greeted within 2 mins with a bottle of water and a Reese's Take 5 candy bar. The staff were so friendly and funny. They seem to really enjoy their job and have fun doing it. I was probably one of the last cars for the night so they were very attentive. Told me everything they were doing and the process, asked if I had any questions, topped me off of anything I was low on, and just overall took care of me in under an hour. I had a coupon that I found on their website and it made my oil change under $80. They also told me I can come back and get topped off for free on certain services within the mileage range. I'll preface this with I've generally had good experiences here. Last week when I went was bad and it could have ruined my car, maybe it did because it's making weird noises now. Let me explain... Went in and got a simple oil change. I didn't drive the vehicle for 2 days, then on Sunday, January 21, I drove to Avon about 50 miles round trip. When I got there it's smelled smoky. I didn't actually see smoke tho, and none of my dash lights were on, nothing was over heating, and I went about my business. A few hours later I drove home. Same thing with the smoky burned rubber smell. This time, in my garage it was filled with smoke. Again, no gauges were on and no fire. I parked outside that night. I scheduled an appt with a local mechanic to check it out first thing Monday morning. Take 5 didn't attach my oil drain plug fully. My mechanic said he got a full rotation or more when he tightened it. Oil was everywhere and that was the burning rubber smell going on. Since I parked outside I could see a puddle of oil in the snow. Below you'll see pics my mechanic took for me. My car also makes a funny "hollow" sound now when I accelerate. This car has 45k miles - it's not an old high miles car. Needless to say I'll probably never go back. Even my mechanic said he'd stay away from those type of places. Take 5 has one job and that's oil changes for convenience. This oil change ended up costing me hours of time but also about $150 extra charges because they couldn't do the job in full. Why did no one ever tell me that Take 5 gives you a water bottle and a mini candy bar? (+ let's you stay in the car) This is my new favorite place. I'm such an adult. Plus their very easy-to-read oil and service menu made it easy for me to pick whatever I wanted. I even grabbed new wiper blades while I was here (cheaper than what I get from the auto store!) & they have a 6-mo warranty! What I really like is that when they take the air filter out they're within your line of sight. I have literally been swindled by others (*ahem*jiffy*ahem*) before where they show me a dirty-ass filter that WASN'T from my car, and pretended it was. Normally this spot is MY GO TO! They are so polite and efficient. Today, was a bit different. I understand long wait times, especially when not a lot of workers are around, but the men that were assisting me were just walking around with no urgency and I felt they didn't completely understand my concerns. One was laughing about an hour and a half wait time for the cars outside; one other man was texting the majority of the time. Usually they have this on lock. My husband and I have taken our car close to three times now and we love the quick, friendly service. They often give you a water bottle and snack. The price is pretty average compared to other places. They top off all your fluids and ask if you need a new air filter as well. The location is easy to get into and easy to exit. Take 5 is my first experience ever getting an oil change where they forgot to put the oil in, especially when its an establishment that only provides oil changing services. As I prepared to leave after service, I noticed the oil light was on. I mentioned to the manager on duty the light was on. He checked the car, by attending underneath the car and under the hood. He stated afterwards that some cars may need additional oil to register with the computer system and that I will not be charged. When I turned my car on again, the light still remain on. The manager left and returned stating they called the district manager to consult. They stated the DM asked if the car was a Ford and this particular car has an sensor in the oil tank and that dirt can attach to the sensor causing it to trigger the light indicator and to seek the dealership for further assistance. Keep in mind, my car is a 2019, a new car still by industry standards. I pulled off with the oil light on and flickering when I accelerated. Shortly after, I started hearing noise from the front end. It sounded like a clacking noise. As I continued to drive it got worse. As I figured I was not far from the dealership, I thought I could keep driving to see what is wrong. It got worse, but that time I pulled over to a nearby full service car establishment. I told them what I was experiencing and they checked the dip stick and yes- no oil!!!!! I could not believe it and was trying to justify why I did not have oil in my car. I remember them pulling my engine filter out and trying to upsell me a new filter, and checked my window wiper blades and told me my back wiper needed replaced, and I guess topped off my coolant, but forgot to put in new oil! After talking to the full service establishment which I drove exactly 5 miles, that they think if I drove another 5 miles to the dealership, that my engine would have been damaged and non working. This is a very scary situation when people rely on places to complete a task. I am writing this review of my experience and to state I will never return and will share with my family and friends and share on social media. read more

Would love to just go somewhere and get an oil change. Really hard to hear and reply to 1,000 questions when everyone is constantly yelling out around you I just wanted an oil change. Didn't realize they were so expensive. Would have just liked to have just gotten an oil change when I stated I only needed an oil change. Not wipers. Not an air filter. Not anything else. Was still being asked questions even after clearly stating I just wanted an oil change. Now they are washing my window. No wonder it's so expensive. I just needed an oil change. I never thought I'd find myself reviewing an oil change establishment.. but here I am. Take 5 is the perfect place for someone like me who does not like to deal with car maintenance. The process for getting an oil change is so fast and you don't even get out of the car. The staff are always so nice. The best part is that you can come back and get your oil topped off before you are due for your next oil change. I did this this week since I was going out of town and it was completely free! Highly recommend! Literally the best oil change I've had in my entire life! I didn't time it and it was maybe 5:45pm on a Thursday night (so probably a busy time after work), but I doubt I was there longer than 20 minutes. They have a $13 off coupon right now and my Jeep Patriot was about $30 after the coupon. They also topped off my coolant and windshield wash. Price depends on what you pick and how many quarts of oil your car takes. Mine takes 4.5. This is a new location and they are clearly training people, but the managers/supervisors were really on top of things. Heck, I was ready to quit my job and look into management at Take 5 because they seemed so on the ball. I'll bet this location gets ridiculous busy once people realize how good the service is. Yeah it's normally gonna cost me about $42, but I'd typically spend up to 2 hours at Walmart for the cheapest oil change at about $25 or maybe 45 minutes to an hour at Jiffy Lube and $30 ish with coupon. I will definitely be back. I don't drive too far to work so I don't need oil changes very frequently, but I'm super glad I tried this place and will definitely be back. read more

Went to location on Southport Road. Was accused of recording by the female associate working there. She said "I did not consent to being recorded" and then proceeded to tell the other workers that I was taking pictures and videos. I was not recording, I would have happily said I was recording if that was the case. This was handled very professionally by the Assistant Manager. He told her that they would just get it done and do it by the book. I didn't catch his name, but he was wearing a walking boot and working his butt off while the lady did the bare minimum. He made sure he did everything he possibly could for me. And told me even if i was recording, I can do that. He saw I was on FaceTime the whole time I was in the bay, and apologized for how she handled it. read more

I got right in. They had my filters and got my car done in no time. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about my car. They showed me the different options I could choose. The person that does the work in the Pit Is checked at the end for leaks by a completely different person. I was offered a bottle of water and you don't even leave your car. This is the quickest most efficient oil change I have ever received at a fair price. The manager asked before I drove off if I was happy with the service and if there was anything else I needed or would change. This was the bomb of oil changes and My go to place in the future. They did a great job just had another oil change that was due at Tire Discount they said Take 5 over tightened something causing something to leak. I had noticed a leak but did not know what it was. I had to pay $500 for a new engine oil cooler housing to be installed because of this place. This happened to me many years ago with Jiffy Lube. TD tried to reach Take 5 and said no one would answer the phone. I guess I will be changing oil places again! read more

They have always been extremely professional, efficient, and knowledgeable about the process. They will answer any questions you have honestly.
