I was in need of an oil change so I stopped in to get a quote. As soon as I walked up, Edgar was very polite and welcoming,& answered my questions. I found the prices to be very reasonable. Makayla also helped she was very informative. Overall it was a quick and easy experience, I would recommend coming to this location. I'll be back for my oil changes. Don't think I'll be back...I was somewhat impressed that the multitude of workers here were calling out safety checks and inspecting each other's work. They missed a big one tho...I left their South Virginia location after my advanced full synthetic oil change and was ready to merge on to 395 Southbound when my 'hood not closed' warning alarm came on...What?! Had to pull over fast! Manager Hector was apologetic when I informed him and offered discounted future service...but I'm leery; don't know what else these folks forgot to do during my visit... read more

Talk about impressive. I've always stayed away from free standing oil change moguls. Hearing horror stories about chains like this causing engine problems and not doing the job right. It was a hot 103 degrees outside and I had the bright idea of getting my oil changed. I was over due by 2 months (don't tell my father in law) and I felt guilty but at the same time it was too damn hot outside. I then had to muster up the courage and drove my swamp ass to the local take 5. I pulled and waited at the designated stop area. Technician comes out into the sun offers me a cold water and directs me which bay to park by. Already impressed, I get called up to the bay. Trunk opened and inspected, other guy comes up interacts with me and goes over my options. I go middle upper tier oil, I'm bougee but not that bougee. Informs me my car takes an extra quart and makes sure I know of the price difference. He also was able to give me a healthcare discount which was sweet. The reason I'm impressed is because there was a lot of announcements made while I was there. It was like a fish market in there! "Oil emptied Bay 2!!" "Drain plug secured bay 3!" Like this was legit impressive. At the end of my oil change they came to my window and showed my the dip stick and the oil level on there. That's service and some serious CYA. At one point he did show me my air filter which was in fact dirty and he asked if I wanted a new one. I declined, and that was the last of that. Not pushy or anything. Takes the pressure off the customer. About 4 or 5 people looked at my car and double checked the work. They even cleaned my windshield. This was probably the best in and out experience I've ever had. I will recommend the crap out of Take 5 to my friends! 5/5! read more

With oil change shops being a dime a dozen these days, it's all about value, trust, and reliability. Admittedly, it's difficult to assess a trust factor after one visit, but I can say I'll likely go back to this new option in our community next time. So, that says something, right? I would say value is roughly consistent with other local options. With their $15 off promotion on all oil changes, I was out the door with an oil change and new filter with the most expensive oil replacement option for about $115. You stay in the car the entire time, and the techs will ask you several questions to ensure they are offering the correct products and service. Don't fret, even if you're not a "car person," they'll keep the process fairly easy and logical for you. One unique factor is that they offer an additional grace period to return and have your fluids topped off between services (1qt oil, windshield fluid, anti-freeze, and transmission). They were quick, thorough, and chatty in an appropriate, non-Dutch Bros kind of way. ;-). Lastly, they are right next to Sonic (both new establishments), so it never hurts to treat yourself to something tasty before or after the productive trip to have your car serviced! read more

They only have synthetic oil. Nothing against anyone there. Nothing else to add. Just wish they had options. I changed my rating from 2 star to 4 star since I was contacted by them asking if there was anything they could do. I I appreciate communication such as that so now I'm giving them four stars. read more

Tried out take 5 not only because I needed an oil change but to see what it's all about. As I pulled up someone had already clocked 2 people in the car and was walking toward us with 2 cold bottles of water. Nice touch! I confirmed that I wanted an oil change and was directed to pull into one of their bays. As we sat comfortably in the car, the main tech was getting my info, going over options, etc. while two other techs had already started. As I was just a little over the 75,000 mile mark, he suggested their regular service with the synthetic oil my car requires. No up selling, just honesty. They check and top off all other fluids, too, which is nice. I told him I had a coupon on my phone for $15 off, and he told me to save it because the first visit is already $15 off! He told me I could use that on my next visit. He then handed me a sticker and explained that it wasn't to tell me when my next oil change was due but that after 3,000 miles I come in and just show that and they will top off fluids, oil too... for no charge! What?? They also checked wiper blades, which I could do with replacing and my air filter, which is dirty. Again, there is no pressure at all. I told him my car is already having a tune-up and that I already asked that shop completing that service to take care of those issues at that time. He said, "ok, great," and dropped it, which I really appreciated. I'm seriously impressed with the no pressure to add on services. He then jumped in with the other two techs and they finished up the oil change. Once they were done, I was asked to start my car so they could do a safety check, I was also shown the dipstick confirming full, fresh oil and then sent happily on my way all in a short period of time. My car had a matinence light on, so I called them and they said come on by and they will check it out! I wasn't sure what to expect since I have always been to dealerships, I got handed a water bottle as soon as I drove up. They directed me in, and checked my car out and the oil was great still so they reset the matinence button! They loved my doggies and gave them lots of love! I use this company and they put the oil filter on so tightly that it poked a hole in it and I had an oil leak for almost 2 weeks. I had to take it to a different mechanic just to have it fixed and that cost me an extra $25. Also I asked for my filter back the old one and they didn't give it to me. I do not recommend this company. They have no idea what they're doing. read more

Came a few weeks ago for a basic oil change. I was greeted as soon as I pulled up with a cold water. The staff was very friendly and I was able to wait in my car. Once I got in, it only took a few minutes. When discussing what type of oil I wanted, they asked me a few questions to help me choose, and they told me honestly what oil was the best choice based on my vehicle and mainly highway driving. No trying to gouge me into getting the most expensive service. which is something I had honestly never experienced. I truly felt they did a great job and it was the first time I found any car maintenance place to be trustworthy. read more

Amazing customer service! They brought us cold water bottles upon greeting us and asking what services we needed. Super fast and you stay in your car while 3 guys work on it. We were in and out within 15 mins. No shady add-ons and telling us we needed to replace random XYZ parts. They topped off all of the fluids and even cleaned our windshield. they changed my oil plug the last time they changed my oil, went to another place to change the oil cause I noticed an oil leak after Take 5 changed the drain plug. The other place could not remove the drain plug so they could not change the oil, called Take 5,they said come down we will fix it. First I was called a liar because I showed up earlier than I said I would, then they said the other place is lying and they just didn't want to do the work. 20 out /0 will not go back to take 5, horrible customer service and the audacity to blame someone else for there mistake is crazy!!! read more

Well-run new oil change location in town. They were efficient, communicative, and best part--they expect you to stay at your car. That way you hear everything they are doing and when they have a question, they can immediately ask you, saving everyone time. ABSOLUTE BEST OIL CHANGE PLACE IN RENO! Ive had far too many oil changes to count in the city of Reno but the team at Take 5 is by far the best. Ive never been treated with so much respect at a oil change spot. Everyone was incredibly nice and on top of what they were doing. Constant communication going on between employees, and between customer and employees. Everyone there is clear, Concise, and honest about everything happening with your vehicle and it really makes you feel taken care off.
