The crisp with the soft rice wrap makes the textured of the pork belly amazing. We also enjoyed the fish roe omelette as it was flavorful. This place is awesome! It was actually my 2nd time visiting the spot, and was surprisingly able to get a 5:30pm reservation the day before. There was a long line when I arrived and this place seems to just be getting more popular, so make sure to plan ahead! Two of us ordered two apps and one main dish - though they were all pretty similar sized. Once you order, there's also complimentary Tteokbokki which arrives and can be refilled which is such a nice surprise. They are also really tasty! Pork Belly Rice Crepe - This dish is so unique and it comes with pickled radish which provides a nice palette cleanser! The pork belly is tender and crispy, and the rice wrap on the outside provides such a fun, more chewy texture to balance the crispiness of the pork belly. This place is a abuzz at night, and a great option for late-night eats as it's open past 1am on weekends. Came here on a whim because we had late night munchies and this was one of the few places still open. Great energy and vibe, even in the late night/early morning all the way to closing time. I want to take31 million bites of food from this place! A super cozy yet aesthetic place, I already can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. We got: Complementary tteokbokki - While on the spicier side, the tteokbokki was so delicious. They were so fat and had a really good chew. Braised pork belly - Obviously very visually pretty, but crazy yummy too. The pork slices are in decent mouth sized pieces and even though it's so much meat, it's not too greasy or heavy. The greens on top especially help to bring up the lightness of the dish. I really enjoyed the pickled cabbage and honestly could have eaten that by itself. My only complaint is that all the pork belly was still connected in a row, which I'm sure was on purpose but it was a bit of a pain to take apart when you wanted to eat a piece. Cod roe udon - I expected this dish to be pretty heavy but it wasn't at all! Or at least as little as it could be while still being a cream dish. It comes with a decent amount of seafood and the udon is perfectly cooked. Also just one thing I wasn't a fan of - while there is peeled shrimp to eat in the dish, the shrimp on top is unpeeled for visual reasons. But I wish they had cut the shell or something on the bottom because it was also a pain to peel. White peach makgeolli - A must get! I normally don't like alcohol much and I'm very distrusting of when people tell me "you can't even taste the alcohol it's so sweet". I love sweet corn and this was delightful. The Udon was super creamy and savory and I would 100% devour an entire bowl by myself. Lighting in the restaurant is pretty dim but it gives a really cool ambiance. I love that they ask for any food allergies and check to see if the dishes you are wanting are safe for consumption. Arrived with a reservation and seated promptly on a Friday evening, the experience at Take31 was solid from beginning to end. As our server greeted us and brought us water quickly after being seated, they were very helpful with questions about anything on the menu and provided great recommendations. We tried the white peach makgulli, which is a light, refreshing rice wine drink served in a 30oz carafe definitely enough to share (or not), which was great. As far as food- For a palate cleanser, complimentary rice cakes were brought out prior to the appetizer and were decadent in themselves. Our starter was a tuna and mayo rice ball, followed by the Garlic Crust & Spicy Chicken, the Pork Belly Rice Crepe Wrap, and the Prime Short Rib Chapaguri. We thought the rice cakes were incredible, and the rice balls were on point but nothing special. Favorites of the night ? I loved the chapaguri, and my partner loves the garlic crust and spicy chicken. The pork belly crepe was just okay for us. We finished off the meal with the Misugaru Dalgona. I should preface here by saying I've been searching for a spot to try Dalgona, made popular by Squid Game on Netflix released last year. Take31 has taken that taste and brought it to their desserts with the Misugaru Dalgona and a Dalgona Taramisu. Went to Take31 after loving their sister restaurant Her Name Is Han, but wasn't super impressed. We got a Resy for 4 and were seated shortly after arrival. Seating was limited, so I recommend getting a reservation to be safe. The restaurant has a very home-like ambiance, similar to going over to an ajumma's. We ordered the seafood & scallion pancake to share, I ordered the cod roe seafood udon and my friends got the hot pot. I'll say that the menu is definitely very unique and "creamy" forward, but nothing really impressed me for the price point. I didn't love the udon, but this may be a personal preference -- it felt pretty heavy and difficult to eat, even though I normally like dishes similar to it. Hot pot is really large, so definitely share with others if you order! Aside from the food being mediocre (to me), the service was pretty come and go. One of my favorite pocha spots in Manhattan!! Sooo cute and love the modern/trendy ambiance in here. The food hit the spot and I love how they serve free tteoboki side dishes. Friendly service, especially when they were answering our questions about the soju slushees and makgeolli drinks. Loved all the fun flavors they had for the drinks! The food was so good! The black garlic rice was 100/10 we ordered it to share and demolished it. The beef noodles were also amazing- we saw a video of the dish and had to come try it. We went on a Sunday evening and had to wait around 25 min for a table as it was busy! Inside was small but cozy. Highlights for me were definitely the LASAGNA! I was grateful the waiter told us it takes awhile to come out. I didn't mind at all since it was so delicious. Definitely a stand out item on this menu.
