Food is good overall but we happened to order all 3 dishes that are on the sweet side so it was a bit too much. I thought the corn pancake would be kinda like normal korean jeon with corn but this one barely has any flour and they use a different type of flour as well. The tangsuyuk is quite sweet. The butter tastes delicious but takes a while to melt. I'm not a big fan of the pork belly with rice crepe. They have different interesting makgeolli that I would definitely try next time.
The fried chicken was super good but the texture could've been more crunchy. Pretty big portion though which was nice. Wish it came with rice or something though. The frozen makgeoli is very yummy. Love the texture and not too sweet at all. Service was super friendly and quick. The internet inside is horrible. No service at all.
It is highly recommended to have a reservation for this restaurant, but if you come early enough, the staff is quickly to accommodate! The restaurant has a great ambiance as it's the perfect dinner hang out spot to grab a bite and drinks. I've been coming to this place for years and something that disappointed me was the free tteokkboki they give. ( It's fine because it's free, but it use to be so creamy, but the one we got that day had a very watered down taste). Other than that, everything was amazing, especially the seafood cream udon!
Made reservations on a Thursday at 5:30pm and it got crowded quick, so would highly recommend making reservations. I absolutely loved the food. The star of the show was definitely the crispy corn pancake since it was delicious, crispy, flavorful, and unlike anything I've ever had before. I thought it was nice that they gave tteokbokki for free as an appetizer. The seafood udon was creamy and delicious but I did taste some sand in the mussel. The omelette was also very fluffy and the sauce was sweet. And the tangsuyuk had a butter on top of it which made it taste even sweeter than normal. It's definitely different but I'm not sure if I like it more than regular tangsuyuk. Overall, would definitely recommend coming here!
I went at opening during the week and was able to get a table with no wait. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Theres music playing in the restaurant and the food is amazing. I got the mentaiko noodles and omelet and the pair was delicious you dip the omelet in the noodle chef kiss. I also got the bossom and Makgeolli which were also amazing. I was recommended the ice cream at the end and very glad I got it the crunchy pieces were . I cant wait to go back.
Came here for dinner and it did not disappointment. The signature makguili is dangerous - so deliciously sweet! Please order the pork belly crepe - so unique and yummy. The Cajun fried rice was unique in flavor. Everything was great! Staff was amazing.
Finally got to check out Take31 after having it on my list for forever. I think if I was in college or early 20s I would've really liked this place back then. It's one of those spots that are simple/bar korean food forward with slight modernization/americanization and it might be best used as a place before going out to carb up, because the portions are large but nothing really stood out to me flavor-wise making me want to come back just to have the food on its own. The jajangmeyon was tasty although a little basic. The corn fritter was my favorite, as it was hefty and a little sweet with a nice crunch but didn't wow me either. The chicken and fries are what you would expect. I think this place is good if you are looking for volume/portion size but not necessarily great for a one on one date or dinner where the focus is the food. The frozen alcoholic drinks were tasty enough though I didn't get a buzz. This place has been around for a long time, and I typically love all of Hand Hospitality's creations, but can't say this one is my favorite. However, it has its own role in the community and definitely still think it's worth coming if you fit the demographic I described. The wait staff was nice and attentive, the vibes were good and the place was generally chic and modern; it was not hard to get a reservation.
I really liked this modern take on Korean food. The flavors were executed very well with a new modern approach while still maintaining the classic Korean flavor profile. The banchan was amazing. It paired really well with the spicy garnishes. The bulgogi fried rice had great flavor, and the bottomless tteokbokki was an amazing touch. Our dessert of the Dalgona tiramisu was the perfect way to end this great meal. The service and ambiance were both solid, and overall this place is excellent.
Service was great. We waited for like 30 minutes. My fav was the udon it was really creamy, the seafood were fresh. They also gave free rice cakes.
Complimentary and unlimited tteokbokki?!!! say less!! Dining at take 31 was pretty affordable for korean food. Everything came out to be around $35 per person including the tip. The standout was definitely the braised pork belly. Great portion for the price and sooo flavorful. Very tender and just has such a nice bite to it. I love the amount of green onions they give you. The short rib chapagurri was pretty good especially mixing the egg in and the flavor of the short rib was just soo good!
Came here with one of my girls for a holiday dinner, and the vibes were absolutely lovely. I believe walk-ins are allowed, but I'd definitely recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait--while we were there, we saw quite a few people waiting outside. The food was amazing, and you even get free tteokbokki and fish cakes with your meal! The bossam and Korean fried chicken were definite highlights. I loved the service, loved the energy, and loved the restaurant overall. Will definitely be back!
Great pub food! We sat in the back in a small sectioned off room so it made the service a bit hard to get to but overall it was a great experience. The food we got were all very good and would recommend all of it! I liked the corn pancake a lot but it was pretty flaky.
Great atmosphere, great vibes, great food. Hard to critique anything! The Pork Belly Rice Crepe wowed my whole table so much that we ordered it again. Highly recommend. The Seafood Udon is super delish as well. Had to lick the pan clean. The chestnut makgeolli is a delightful sweet (but not too sweet) drink. Not a typical flavor you see but it was surprisingly good. The banana has a very natural flavor but the chestnut just hit the spot.

Situated a block away from the main Ktown street, Take31 is a cozy and tasty time with friends or a date. Highly recommend coming here if you love the most fresh, Korean-inspired tapas paired with a light drink. I was blown away by every single menu item. They are a little on the pricier side (each person ended up paying $30-40), but the mix of flavors come together so beautifully. My favorite dishes were definitely the Crispy Corn Pancake (sweet! crispy! roasted!) and the Pork Belly Crepe Wraps (savory and full, with freshly-made mochi-like texture on the outside). Staff were friendly, and would recommend a reservation since this place is small and likely to get busy during peak dinner hours. If you come earlier like us (at 5pm), it is pretty empty. I might just have found one of my favorite places in New York City! Take31 is this trendy korean fusion restaurant that serves popping vibes. It was packed when we got there in the evenings but only took 5 mins to seat a part of 2. Their makegolli or rice based liquor, is a treat and something not found everywhere! If you need more reasons to check them out, they have a seafood udon that is the best balance of creaminess and savoriness. Plus, their cod roe omelette are one of the fluffiest things you can have. Also, check out their short rib chapaguri which is rich and savory. I had a memorable meal and would definitely be back! read more

I've seen the Injeolmi Pork Belly all over my page and have wanted to visit for the longest time! We went a bit overboard and ordered so many dishes, but glad we got to have a bite of everything! * Roll-up Cod Roe Omelette - salty and soft egg omelette, would pair nicely with spicy dishes but was a bit overwhelming for me * Prime Short Rib Chapaguri - featured in Parasite! I was expecting this to be very sweet but surprised there was a familiar spice/smoke end note - I feel like they used ramen spice packets to add an extra oomph to the dish. I really enjoyed! The noodles did not swell/bloat and the sauce stayed loose, making this easy to share. * Pork Belly Rice Crepe Wraps - the star of the show! You get a chewy yet crisp barbecued pork belly bite with the nuttiness of the Injeolmi powder - truly an explosion of flavors. * Crispy Corn Pancake - crunchy & sweet * Cold-Kimchi Noodle - refreshing, but wish they had given spoons for us to slurp the delicious broth * Garlic Crusts & Spicy Chicken - also one of my favorites: super crispy and flavorful with super soft and juicy chicken! I'd love to try the Lasagna or stews when the weather gets cold - would pair perfectly with their refreshing Shaken Sojus. read more
TAKE31 is FUEGOOOOOO. It was literally so good we forgot to take proper photos of the food... we INDULGED in free tteokbokki, wood ear mushroom salad, the acclaimed braised pork with rice crepe, and the delectable corn pancake.. had to take a pause my mouth is watering from writing this review. Each item was great, but DEFINITELY try the braised pork with rice crepe as it's so unique. Tbh we were not big believers in this combo and almost opted for something else, but we were happily surprised at how well the rice crepe worked with the pork belly. The tenderness of the pork and softness of the crepe add such a fulfilling texture that's complimented perfectly by the sauce they drizzle over the dish. The service was great-- quick and efficient. What more can you ask for? We were sat in the very back of the restaurant in an almost private space which was super nice and a bit more quiet which is always hard and unexpected in NY. ILL BE BACK to try more items on this menu. Definitely make a reservation though! We saw a lot of people waiting outside to be seated when we walked right in. Highly recommend this joint. read more

We came right at opening with a reservation and were seated pretty quickly. The space has a lot of seating that moves into the back, but it felt still pretty homey and was decorated nicely. The menu was pretty aesthetic and overall had a nice selection of foods. It has a lot of modern twists on a lot of different Korean dishes, but also does the classics decently well. We decided to share 3 things as a group of 2 and overall, this was a little too much -- I would probably recommend two dishes unless you're good taking home leftovers. The free tteokbokki they serve was pretty nice and had a good flavor. The drink we got as well was pretty refreshing and not too strong. I would recommend getting the crispy corn pancake as that was unique but still very tasty and the pork belly rice crepe wraps; the latter was surprisingly a little sweet but super tasty. The Korean army soup was good, but honestly not too special in my opinion and wasn't worth the price; other places serve a dish similar to this as well and it's not like you can't get it elsewhere. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here as the menu was pretty unique and the flavors overall were very solid. The price is a little steep, but the service was good and as long as you get a reservation, with no wait this made for a good experience. read more

Good Korean dishes with subtle fusion twists! Portions are a little small but were used to that by now, lol -- I recommend ordering a more than 1 dish per person. We were seated right away with a reservation and our order was taken pretty quickly too. They also serve a small plate of tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) as a side dish, but that was it for the banchan, which shows that it's not a traditional Korean restaurant for sure. My favorite dish is definitely the pork belly rice crepe wraps, they taste perfect with the injeolmi powder and sauce that come with it. Ambiance-wise, I felt like the music was way too loud and I felt like I was at a pocha. read more
Food here was decent! We started with the yogurt rice wine which was really yummy, and in terms of food, the standout was definitely the pork belly rice crepe wrap. It was cooked really well!! Everything else was solid but nothing too standout. I'm glad I got to try the chapaguri but it got a little too saucy at the end. The braised pork belly meat was also a bit tough. Docked a star also for service. We ended up waiting double the time we were quoted. Not necessarily the restaurants fault, but the table before us did not leave for another 20 minutes after their table was cleaned and set up for us. Would have been nice to have some gesture that there was another party ahead, especially if everything was already cleaned up and prepared for us. read more

Not to be dramatic but this is one of the top 5 best korean places I've ever had. I can't really explain it but everything I had was top tier. I would probably avoid the dishes that don't sound korean though i.e. the chicken with cream cheese, lasagna, etc. Had the chicken and wasn't a big fan. Everything else was phenomenal though. A thousand percent order the Pork Belly Rice Crepe Wraps and Soon-Dae hot pot!! read more
I'm a big fan of Hand Hospitality (Her Name is Han, Jua, Atomix, etc) and was excited to try their spot Take31. Stopped in for dinner on a weeknight without a reservation and the wait wasn't too bad - about 25 mins for the two of us. I tried: + Wasabi cream chicken + Crispy corn pancake + Short rib chapaguri The highlight was the chicken, and the free (bottomless) rice cakes that they give you were also amazing. Overall excellent! read more
~ Braised Pork Belly ~ The pork bellies are tender and soft, with a right meat to fat ratio, doesn't taste much of anything as they rely on the sauce on top for flavours. The sauce is quite citrusy and not too sweet/salty. I really like the green onions on top, goes really well with the sauce and gave it a refreshing taste. ~ Cold Kimchi Noodle ~ The noodles are slightly disappointing, we are expecting noodle made with buckwheat and potato starch, instead this one is somyeon/somen, and not very chewy and springy. The sauce is ok, not as flavourful as I hoped, but there are some thin sliced apple and cucumber making it extra refreshing. There is also some kimchi / gochujang slushy to keep the noodle ice cold, it was quite fun eating that. Will I be back? Probably yes The dishes we ordered are pretty average, nothing particularly good or bad. My friends mentioned some other dishes are better, so probably will try those next time! read more

Take 31 really blew us away! We came with a reservation and were seated immediately. The free appetizer of tteokbokki was DELICIOUS. I would go back just for that tbh. We tried the bulgogi fried rice, the garlic crispy chicken, and the black bean noodles with short rib. THE BULGOGI FRIED RICE WAS INSANE. This was the star dish. If you're going to order one thing, get the bulgogi fried rice. The noodles were okay, they weren't a super stand out flavor, but still solid. The garlic chicken came out super fresh, piping hot. Everything was served SO quickly which was amazing. Small restaurant but a nice ambiance. Can't wait to come back!! read more

Rating: 4.56/5 Wasabi Cream Chicken - Crispy chicken with honey butter and whole grain mustard sauce with wasabi whipped cream $16.95 (4.7/5) - the wasabi whipped cream was very fresh and paired so well with the crispy chicken - I would recommended eating the chicken when it comes out since I noticed it was not as crispy after it cooled down at the end of the meal -v - Really unique cream, definitely the highlight of the dish, could have fries or anything else really with it. Giving extra points for not having had it before -m - Could have had a bit more chicken -m - v rating: 4.6/5 vs m rating: 4.8/5 Korean Army Soup - Korean-style spicy soup with spam, bacon, sausage, hamburger patty, ramen, American cheese, mushroom & scallion $28.95 (4.4/5) - Very large quantity but would recommend asking for more ramen added to it (did not charge extra) - not a big fan of the hamburger patty and the bacon chunk they added were stuck together (would have liked it if they separated the bacon before added it in) -v - Very solid, you get to keep eating for a long time and the food doesn't run out so I was happy with it -m - v rating: 4.3/5 vs m rating: 4.5/5 OVERALL EXPERIENCE (4.6/5) - I would come here with a reservation. Most places I've visited served us multiple but at take 31, they served us tteokbokki which is usually on the menu instead. Love this! Officially, it's my favorite spot in NYC now. So I saw this on Instagram and decided to give it a shot. It's a pretty cozy restaurant. We didn't make a reservation since we decided on this restaurant at the last minute. But we did not have to wait long to be seated. Which was nice. We ordered a bunch of food that was recommended on Instagram and we absolutely love every single dish! White peach Makgeolli is a must!! Seafood udon was amazing too! It tasted similar to the ones I had in Toronto. The omelette was soft and fluffy too! Which tasted nice and addictive. Definitely coming back here again! read more
This was an amazing place to have dinner! We were lucky to be able to get a last minute Resy, since this place is usually booked! They offered tteokboki instead of traditional bread, which we really enjoyed. We ordered their yuzu soju slushy, which was a delicious drink that paired well with the spicy heat of our entrees! For our entrees, we got their chapaguri and lasagna, both of which were a delicious and creative take on popular Korean cuisine. Definitely recommend this place if you're able to snag a reservation! read more

Came here without a reservation on a Saturday evening, and we were seated within 20 minutes, which was awesome! Definitely a busy spot, with a young, modern and fun vibe. Ordered the Prime Short Rib Chapaguri, and it was quite good! The sauce had a great, balanced spicy kick to it, and the noodles were perfectly cooked and coated. The short rib was great, but definitely with there was more meat in the dish. Great portion size! The staff was kind, but service was somewhat slow despite us getting seated quickly. The host was great and the kitchen staff were kind, but we were definitely waiting on our food, receipt, and service for a while. At some point, we believe that our waitress forgot about our table, as we were waiting and done eating for over 30 minutes before we were able to flag someone down. Definitely a bit on the pricy side for what you get, but good food and will be back to try more! read more

Highly recommend this place! Pretty much everything in the menu was great. This place is great for sharing. The corn pancake was nice and crunchy. A must have is the pork belly. It had a good amount of pork and toppings. We got the seafood soup but spicy. It had a kick to it for sure. There was also a good amount of seafood and veggies in the soups. My least favorite was the lasagna. I thought it was too sweet. There was a purée in it as well. I thought it had too much purée and it overpowered the dish. Service was great too. Our server was nice and helpful. The inside was so cool. Take31 has a very nice interior and good amount of seats. A note, I booked my reservation 2-3 weeks in advance. They do get booked up pretty quickly. read more
This time, I tried the spicy short rib lasagna, creamy seafood udon & white peach makgeoli. My most favorite was the cod roe seafood udon - super delicious, creamy, al dente udon & shrimp. My least favorite was the spicy short rib lasagna - It definitely was not a traditional lasagna type, as there was not that much "cheese" in it. The short ribs were spicy, but I found it weird that there was some sort of sweet potato in this item. The white peach makgeoli was good - was not strong & tasted like peach slushy. I would highly recommend the creamy seafood udon! Service was great - foods came out quick & staff were attentive. read more

Made a reservation here for a weekend night with 5 friends and we got these dishes. Also not pictured but we ordered the spicy galbi hotpot as well. The service was pretty standard and the food was pretty average, it was good but I wouldn't consider it amazing. It can definitely get loud here during the dinner rush sometimes. One thing to call out is that the portions are smaller than they look, something to keep in mind before coming here. Would also recommend making a reservation on Resy since the lines can get long especially for dinner. Some people on line were waiting 30+ mins to get in since they didn't have a reservation. Ambiance (4/5): The back dining area inside is a bit dark but not too loud. There's a front and back dining area. I didn't feel cramped at all. You can see the kitchen from the front dining area. Service (5/5): They seated us without having the full party and we never felt like we were being rushed out of there. There was always someone available to take our order or help with anything. I like how the servers also instructed us for what to do with some of the dishes (e.g., break the egg, or eat the noodles first, or provide context to the dish) Slushy Soju - Orange Mango (5/5): The little bottle definitely packs a punch! We shared a bottle among our party of 4 and it was enough to sip on throughout the meal. Braised Pork Belly (4/5): The pork belly was super tender! The braising seasoning did not stand out very much but tasted great with the heaping topping of scallions and the spicy Chef's sauce. Rolled-up Cod Roe Omelette (4/5): Be sure to eat this dish while it's hot! It's a very unique dish w a thin layer of cod roe within a rolled-up egg. The sauce drizzled on top gives it another element of umami. Spicy Soft Tofu Soup (4/5): I was a big fan of the tofu soup as there was a lot of depth of flavors. The portions were plentiful and there a lot of variety in the dish. Short Rib Chapaguri (2/5): The chunks of short rib were pretty tough to chew. The Jjajang sauce did not stand out as anything special. Wasabi Cream Chicken (3/5): There a nice crunch to the chicken nuggets. I could not really taste the hints of honey butter or mustard. The wasabi whipped cream was very light in flavor. I would definitely come again to try their other dishes! read more
I came here on a friend's recommendation and really enjoyed it! It's pretty amazing that their free bottomless banchan is ddukbokki, and it's great! The rice cakes are tender but not overcooked, and it has good flavor. I also thought the soju slushies were a great deal -- for $17, we were able to fill 10 shot glasses. I do wish the slushies were more frozen, but they were otherwise very delicious and accompanied the food well. I also really liked the spicy galbi stew -- there were two versions of galbi in the stew, and both were very tender and flavorful. The broth was rich and flavorful without being heavy. I would get this again. The other dishes we got were decent but I probably wouldn't get them again. The crispy corn pancake had a great crunchy texture but was a bit too sweet, the jjapaguri was pretty unremarkable, and the "Korean ceviche"/mulhwe was good but not great. I could definitely see myself coming back again -- the staples of bottomless ddukbokki and delicious soju slushies give Take31 a strong foundation for a delicious meal in my mind. The egg roll was very light and creamy and we loved it! The udon was our favorite dish and it was so creamy and with lots of flavor. We also got the budae jjigae which I forgot to take a picture of. The budae jjigae was interesting, there were breakfast sausages in them. We werent sure if we were fans of that but a friend told us their soondooboo was good so would come back to try different food! Definitely get a reservation ahead of time! It's very popular at the moment. Honestly the highlight of the meal was the maekgeolli! It's a wonderful slushy texture, and the flavors are more natural and not artificial and too sweet. I liked the banana flavor a lot! You get a big carafe for $18.95 which isn't too bad, but the alcohol content is low so don't use this to get drunk :) The food was good as well, we got the creamy roe seafood udon and the injeolmi pork belly, and the one side they provide is tteokbokki! The menu isn't too big which is nice, but all the items are unique. Service was prompt, and the total came out to about $50 pp. read more
Looking for a place to drink in the city? This is the spot to go to. We lined up before their opening to avoid waiting long. The line piled up right behind us so we were happy we came at a good time. My friends and I didn't have reservation but they said they could squeeze us in for about an hour since they had reservations coming. We ordered one dish which was the braised pork and it was so tender when eating it. The rice cakes that came with it was super soft and chewy and the sauce was packed with flavor. We also got two pitchers for drinks. The soju slushy was okay, we were hoping for the strawberry banana flavor but unfortunately they were out of stock so we opted for the mango orange(?) flavor. It was good until we got the banana rice wine. That drink took over the flavor of the soju we previously had. This drink was creamy and sweet and I was surprised to have liked it because I don't like bananas too much. Overall a great experience and I would definitely go again! read more

The vibes of the place were super cute almost like I was in Itaewon or something. It was a bit crammed for my liking but overall the food was pretty good in terms of quality. I failed to make a res online so I decided to walk in. I was the first in line when I arrived at arnd 5:05pm on Sat, but the line expanded rapidly right after. The restaurant absorbed the crowd quickly, which I believe you could still grab a table if you arrive when it just opens. ＊Rolled- Up Cod Roe Omelette This cod roe omelette was a slay. Take 31's one was drizzled with generous mentaiko mayo. The egg rolls were pillowy and jiggly, and most importantly not overcooked. I've tried Cho Dang Gol's one but the cod roe fillings didn't live up to my expectation. ＊Prime Short Rib Chapaguri Their Prime Short Rib Chapaguri was literally the real standout. The beef was tender, while the ramyeon noodle was chewy and sauced with right amount of sweet black jjajang sauce. I wish it was served in a bigger portion. Forgive me, I was reluctant to share it with my friends. We fought for the last bite and cleansed the whole plate lol ＊Korean Army Soup Hate to say it, but the Army Soup was a miss. It was much more expensive ($26.95) than the other noodle options but winded up underwhelming. The hot pot was filled with spam, sausage, hamburg patty, ramen & American cheese in a kimchi-based stew. Went on a friday night and place was pretty full. We rsvp beforehand so no wait. Corn pancake was yummy and crispy. The pork belly rice wrap was nothing special, most of the flavor was from the sauce they use with it. Seafood udon was the star of the show, so creamy and flavorful. No. Take 31 removed all of their outdoor seating It is now strictly indoor dining

Does take 31 card/check ID if you're only eating and not drinking alcohol?
