I was in Darlington SC yesterday and stopped into this local diner. Nice little place with old diner feel. I ordered the lunch special with two piece dark meat chicken and collards and pasta salad. I must say that it was very good. Chicken fried well and the collards and pasta salad was delicious. Service was quick and friendly. I had to take a pic of the Elvis statue because my mom loved Elvis. Fried chicken is one of her favorites as well. So this meal was in honor of my Mom. This place is amazing. The food portion is just enough to fill you up and not have food to waste. I had been wanting stuffing for a while. I was so excited when they said they had stuffing and baked chicken. The chicken was moist and the stuffing was a perfect mix. My dad had the fried chicken it was crispy and juicy. The dinning area reminds me of an old time dinner. It was nice having lunch here with my dad for his was his type of place. He's a huge Elvis fan. They have statues of different icons like Elvis. We had to take a picture with Elvis this year and last year. These are memories I'll cherish forever. I don't get to spend a lot of quality one on one time with my dad. read more

Wow, my wife and I stopped here for a late lunch and all I can say is the food was excellent. The service superb. We really enjoyed it. I got a Pete's burger with chili cheese fries and probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. The fries were a bit soggy but still good. My wife had a chicken Philly and she liked it. Onions rings were good. For an app we had the jalapeños cheese puff, they were good. I would get them again. read more

I don't usually leave reviews on restaurants, but i saw this place had a 4.5 and thought it was way too high. My dad and I came in to eat breakfast one morning and the service was okay but he was served RAW sausage. The biscuits were also hard as rocks, i'm talking so hard they could've broke windows. The waitresses were all nice about the inconvenience but this place needs some new cooks asap. read more

I moved out here from Comifornia (California), and someone's recommended the place, so I tried it, and WOW the food was beyond excellent, and the service was even better, prices are great too! This used to be my favorite go-to. Now the food is hit and miss. I will not go back. My latest experience was last week: Ordered to go, a hamburger steak dinner and a Greek Salad. The hamburger steak was small and over cooked, dry and tasteless and I paid for a full sized Greek Salad and received a side sized Greek Salad. The last 3 times something similar has happened. When I called, the woman hung up on me. There are other diners here that have improved, have been more consistent, but not this one. I quit eating inside. I hate hearing servers talk crap each other. Great little "meat & 3" place. The food is tasty and service is good. The last time we were I enjoyed the fried flounder with slaw and baked potato. Our server brought enough sour cream for me, which is fantastic. Their unsweetened tea is really good. Hubby had the pork tips with rice and gravy and cabbage. I thought he might lick the plate! We topped off the meal with a shared hot fudge cake. It was served with an additional scoop of ice cream on the side. Again, hubby almost licked the plate. We will come back again soon! read more

Absolutely love this restaurant. It has that hometown feeling. Everyone talks about how good the breakfast is. But I have just had lunch and dinner. And I have never ordered anything that I didn't like. But my favorite is the Smothered Chicken. ( except no mushrooms for me). It has the best flavor. Comes with salad and another side. I eat here all the time and it is usually great! But today I got my food and it was slightly on the cold side. I ordered dumplings and Mac and cheese. I got a small portion of both. Nothing like normal. The man at the next table ordered the same and his plate was piled high, like mine usually is. I order sweet potato suffle which was in no way suffle it was yams, huge difference. I hate yams but love suffle. So, I will try again but hope I get better next time. read more
