I love Takosushi. Me and my friends usually visit the Augusta location, but we decided to change it up this time since Aiken, SC is so close to Augusta. We drove over and walked down the alley. While "The Alley" area has several good choices, we knew we'd enjoy Takosushi. I had the Mezcal Mule, which was tasty. This was my first time having mezcal too. I also had edamame and I believe the Crazy Susan Roll. We also ordered fried asparagus for the table. I really loved the taste and the presentation too. The staff was very nice. Initially, we were to be seated at a table near the kitchen, but we asked to sit elsewhere and they moved us quickly. I've been to places where this was a problem, but not here. The staff was so nice and cleaned off a table that was recently vacated to accommodate us. They also had outdoor seating, which had heaters for the cold weather. Overall, I'll visit again likely before the year end. read more

I order from here frequently, since I work around the corner. I always get the Crazy Roll and the Cucumber salad(no sprouts). It is amazing sushi! The place is somewhat small but seems clean and the staff is great! read more

Pretty good..I loved the Crazy Caprese salad...includes big slices of tuna sashimi melded into a caprese tomato and mozzarella presentation..refreshing...no one Japanese works here but they do a pretty decent job. Can be pricey if you order the wrong things and the higher priced items don't always result in better dishes. read more

Had a redfish and chips special. Redfish is rarely found on a menu in SC. The chips were fried vegetables (squash, asparagus and sweet potato slices). Good portion. Fish would benefit from some type of breading before frying. read more

An awesome mix of Mexican and Japanese food. The pokke was tasty, the crazy roll was excellent! The fish tacos or takos as they call it were yummy and so were the steak tacos. We stopped eating only when we couldn't eat any more it was so good. Weird idea of a Mexican/sushi place but oddly enough it works! Definitely recommend the place. It wild be one of our regular places if we lived nearby. read more

Good atmosphere and cool location on the alley. I had the steak tacos and they were okay. Nothing spectacular about them. My friend had the burrito and said it was FANTASTIC. I ended up leaving my credit card there and they kept it safely in the register for me to get that next day. Great sushi selection! I just can't eat fish. read more

Gross! Gross! Gross! We just got take out, and it was disgusting. All the rolls didn't just visually look old but tasted old as well. The spicy tuna' s discoloration was so obvious, the ends were hardened. Two differnt rolls had tempura shrimp, both... not fresh. The shrimp was so badly dehydrated they tasted like a leather work boot. The Lobster roll took really bad to a new level. It was old discolored tuna salad in a roll. If you ever left tuna salad out too long you know what it looked like. read more

While we are typically fans of Takosushi, our experience tonight (Thursday, Sept. 6) was extremely disappointing. We were seated immediately at a table outside, upon which the waiting game began. Ten minutes later, our hostess finally arrived to take our order. Ten more minutes later, our drinks were brought to us- without the 2 appetizers we had ordered. The first of these came out 40 minutes after we sat- upon reminding our sever of the second, we received it about 10 minutes later (50 minutes after being sat). Mind you, the second appetizer (seaweed salad) does not require any preparation besides plating. We did not receive our two orders of sushi until about an hour and 15 minutes after we had been seated. Had we been notified of the actual wait before being sat, we would have just gone elsewhere and kept our higher opinion of this establishment. read more

One of my favorite places to eat or get a drink in Aiken. Great Sushi. I suppose I should qualify that by saying as good as your going to get in the middle of South Carolina, rather than on some island in Hawaii. Nice little bar with fun fancy cocktails if you are lucky enough to get a seat. I haven't tried their Mexican food yet. Can be kind of noisy, crowded, and cramped on busy nights. So this is a chain apparently...but the location in Aiken is great. Small footprint but they bang out the sushi rolls at a good pace.

I've been to a lot of sushi places and this one takes the cake, surprising it has such good seafood when it is land locked. And if someone in your party doesn't do fish there is the New Mexican food as the other menu option. Great atmosphere and people watching place in downtown Aiken. read more

What's not to love? It has my 2 favorite type of food Japanese and Mexican. The Tempura asparagus was fabulous, the sushi rolls are the bomb and the Mexican was delicious. I hope they make to North Carolina some day. read more

Had 2 rolls here, the specialties are in the $10-15 range. It was a few weeks ago, but I think I had a rainbow roll and a spider roll. They were average compared to what I'm used to in other cities. Nothing else really stood out during my one visit. Did not visit the restroom. read more

I always wait for at least two experiences before I review. Both times have been wonderful! A different twist with South West and Japanese foods in one place. REAL Hatch Green Chili. Great service. Only complaint is that they tend to be busy, so we had to wait for a table the second time (NYE, figures). They sat us quick and we got good service considering how busy they were. This is a "must" place to eat in Aiken. BUT, don't forget to request no Mayo in your sushi if that is not you thing, which is NOT mine, EEWWWW! But I have learnedto look out for that. read more

Amazing, AMAZING food!! I admit. I was a little nervous about moving back to North Augusta from Tampa and not finding good sushi but I was grateful wrong!! The best sushi in all the CSRA! I always eat at TakoSushi whenever I am in the area. The sushi is delicious, and I love the Takosushi sauce. I could go on about how good the food is, but I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 because of the service. Often times the servers are short with you and not very attentive. I just ate here today and the server was terrible. They weren't busy at all, but she kept disappearing. We had to ask someone for napkins, for to-go boxes, for our bill, etc. Luckily they have awesome food to make up for terrible service! read more

Tacos and sushi under one roof? You have got to be kidding me! AND IT WAS AWESOME! The sushi was fantastic and the quesadilla was pretty good too. I did find out later that takosushi is actually the Japanese word for octopus sushi. It was a really interesting play on words that just works. Totally worth the price. read more

Went there tonight and their pozole was horrible. They didn't give you limes or cabbage with it and the flavor was horrible. This is the worse pozole I have ever had. The rest of the food also was just tasteless. It's over priced for tasteless food. read more

I ate here once before and I was kind of underwhelmed. I'm not a huge sushi fan, but their shrimp tempura was pretty good with their house made sushi dipping sauce. Now for the underwhelmed part, their Mexican side of the menu didn't do anything for me. It wasn't that great at all, the steak had a metallic taste, and the chicken was kind of watery (weird). The carnitas were the only decent thing from the Mexican side of the menu. The frijoles were okay, but not blow your mind good. What makes or breaks a Mexican restaurant for me is the tortillas. And theirs were just out of the pack. Which is fine, but put them on the grill or something to give them a little flavor and cook them a little or char them on one side for flavor or something... because flour tortillas straight out of the bag taste like play dough even if you have to heat them in the microwave! The fried asparagus was okay, but the teriyaki and soy sauce mix with the spicy mayo on top was the only thing that made it good. The place itself is very tiny. It does have a "full bar" but it's small and tucked into the front corner. Don't come here if you want to have a large party accommodated because I'm afraid it's just too small. I went here Saturday night before prom with a group of friends. The service was amazing and the food was fresh! I returned yesterday (Monday night) and I was disappointed. We waited almost 45 minutes for our appetizer and our waitress wasn't friendly. We were there for two hours and our food was cold when it came out. Confession, I don't eat sushi. However, my wife does. My favorite food is Mexican. So off we go to Takosushi. This is a great establishment for our situation. She loved whatever that was that she was eating. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken enchiladas and beans not to mention the chips and dip. Great location in the Aiken Alley. Very friendly staff and quick service. We have family members with food allergies and the manager and waitress were able to intelligently discuss the gluten content of the food. That won't mean much to most people but that means an awful lot to some. We will be back. read more
