We figured it wouldn't hurt to welcome them into our home for a no obligation quote, and our appointment was set for three days later. Wayne Mackenzie arrived on time, and we sat down to a pleasant conversation about the benefits of solar. He analyzed our current PG&E bill and yearly summary and educated us about how much we were paying on average and how much we could potentially save if we were to go solar. We were already interested at the time, but Wayne helped us to understand why SolarCo would be a better solution than other options, without putting any other companies down J. He wasn't pushy or demanding, like sales people can be, which made it a comfortable experience. One thing that sets SolarCo apart from other solar companies is that they do not contract out. Everyone we worked with was directly from SolarCo, from the Sales Consultant to the design team, to the Installers, down to Cameron, who worked hard to track us down for signatures and to drop off paperwork (even coming out to my work when he was running a few minutes late... no fault of his own, since SolarCo is located 43 miles away and there were accidents on the News that morning). From our initial conversation with Wayne until the building permits were signed, only 14 days had passed, and our solar system was complete and running just over a month later. The installers were very professional and clean. They upgraded our Electrical Panel along with the install and made sure we understood everything they were doing. Total install took less than 6 hours. The back of our house faces South, so the panels are visible from the backyard. From the front of the house nobody can even tell we have them. The Enlighten App we downloaded on our phones shows a layout of our system along with detailed information about how well each panel is producing. It is fun to open throughout the day to see how well the system is working, but the best part hands down is watching the meter go backwards, even when it is slightly overcast. Our bills went from in the 400s, to $250 when it was completed in the middle of a billing cycle, to $6 this past month! We are happy with our system, the customer service, and with the whole process. Same thing with the final check...interrupting our dinner with 3 minutes notice. The vague promise of a tax rebate and lack of explanation about the pages and pages of equipment instruction was not reassuring. All and all, we are going to hire someone else to look over what we have to find out if it is what we paid for.

I was looking for a home security system and went through yelp. I had a few people respond and give…read moreme offers to give quotes. I went through other companies like ADT as well. Bright Home Services provides INSTALLATION and set-up of your alarm system. What I liked about their service was that if you purchased your system as a whole upfront (the hardware), you remained on a month to month basis. If you decided you wanted to stop service, you could. This was not the case with other companies. They wanted you to complete your contract or pay 70% of your contract term--which I found a bit odd. Many co-workers and friends also told me that they ended up getting ring, or other self-install set-ups. I am not particularly that tech savvy. Ultimately I think the hardware, can end up being the same price roughly. However, bright home services not only brings the hardware and they install it for you. Then you can keep the hardware. They did work all over my house, were very pleasant, accommodated my work times and when I could be home, installing even later into the evening. When I had a last minute add on, they even came another day and worked through some of the bugs to get it set-up. If I had done myself, I would have just lost my patience and gave up. I am really grateful for their fast, kind service. Look forward to continued service. Also their company offers other higher end smart home functions, as well as solar panels. Pretty cool.

Tyler, my original "salesman" was professional. Came out and provided what appeared to be a…read morereasonable quote given the nature of the work. There was a question over whether a discount should be applied given the cost estimate and the mailbox flyer they distributed, but he addressed that. The work was done in a day, photos taken, etc. The 1st red flag was that I didnt see hardly any debris or trash from the work. Only a few cracked tiles and some supplies. I presumed they put the waste materials in their truck and disposed of them. Because I had filed a homeowners insurance claim an inspector came out a few days after the work CSR had completed. That review painted a different picture from the pics I was sent. 2nd red flag. Crap that was supposed to have been removed wasn't. Bird spikes attached were done incorrectly with no netting. Some tiles were still loose and others cracked. Shortly after the work was done I received an email stating Tyler was no longer with CSR and to contact them if I had any questions. I sent them the concern over the work not being completed, including the inspectors report, and followed up with a manager over the phone. I was told they would send a team out in a couple of weeks to complete the work properly. After four weeks, I called back and emailed. No responses. 3rd red flag. I subsequently had to have another contractor come and paid them almost a 1/3 of what CSR received for the work they never did. There was a reason why I didn't see any debris in my garbage after the original work. A mound of debris was left out of sight under my solar panels with other debris in my gutters. 4th red flag. As getting on a roof is not something most people can or should do, you need to have a trustworthy, reliable, responsive, and honest contractor to do the work at a fair cost. CSR showed NONE of these qualities in their work or in handling this project. I would think twice about considering them for any roofing project unless you can physically watch them do the work. As a contractor overseeing the job, you are responsible for the companies that you sub-out to. The crew who tore off the old roof broke two lawn sprinklers that they tried to hide that I had to replace. They broke bricks that line the stairway to our front door and tried to set them back to look like they had not been disturbed. They damaged 5 screens which I had to get replaced. I do not think they picked up a single nail even though they assured me that they would. We picked up handfuls of old nails, hundreds, and one that went into my foot. The gutter company put up gutters that had all kinds of bends in them. Not huge bends, but for brand new you would think they would be straight. If you look at them from the side you can really tell. As for CSR itself, if they put up new wood it is not painted. Also looking at the attached pictures, they needed to get flashing under this area but never blocked the hole after they tore off the piece that was there. So they made the hole and did not fix it. This hole was big enough for small animals to crawl through to get into my attic. And that is just one of many holes that I have had to fix on my own. Also they need to realize that every piece of roofing that they cut and throw on your lawn in July will burn it. So if you want to spend $42000+ on your roof and garage roof, and don't mind cleaning up after them and storing their plywood sheets and 2x6's for two weeks in your driveway after they leave, go for it. Otherwise, find someone else.
