Quite disappointing since last time we were here, it was great. Arrived around 5:30 pm on Saturday night. They don't take reservations and the dining room was already quite busy. Server had a number of other tables so it took a bit to get to us. She brought a drink menu but did not come back for at least 10 min. We ordered BBQ shrimp and crab meat pie with some cocktails. The drinks were fine but the BBQ shrimp was overdone and rubbery. Sauce was an unappealing brown color with rosemary and there was plenty of dipping bread. Unfortunately, barbecue shrimp is a staple around here and it was nothing close to as good as Southwood kitchen, Jesse's or Kingfisher. The crab meat pie was awful. Crabmeat tasted old and fishy as though chef used yesterday's leftovers to make it. 3 diners ordered fish dishes, tile fish special panko style, grouper, and sea bass. You could not tell the difference between the fish dishes and I sense they used the same type fish for all three since each plate looked identical. Fourth diner had crab cakes. Yikes! Two huge globs of a crab meat paste formed into heaping discs blackened on the outside but mushy, pasty and likely made with old crabmeat. Inedible. The waitress offered to box up uneaten food but we declined and left. Disappointed since previous time we had steak and jubilee pasta that was great. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Tamara's today. The crab cake was full of delicious crab with only enough breading to allow it to hold together. The accompanying veggies & side salad (with honey red wine vinaigrette) were fresh & tasty. My husband thoroughly enjoyed chicken & waffles with fruit bowl, bacon & hash browns. Matthew took excellent care of us! He was attentive but not interfering. Tamara's decor is a mixture of rustic with beautiful, eclectic artwork. We would eagerly return to Tamara's when back in the area! read more

I was really disappointed with the service and lunch here. We had a party of 4 for lunch on Saturday. We all ordered at the same time. 2 dishes came out after about 30 minutes. 2 people were served, with a chicken pesto sandwich and a lobster roll. 10 minutes later, a salad came out for the 3rd person. Finally, after another 15 minutes, as the first 2 were finishing their meal a buffalo chicken sandwich came out for the 4th person. It is an awful service when everyone isn't served at the same time, and for the prices that they are charging, I don't think there is an excuse. It was not an enjoyable meal, and the last person had 3 minutes to scarf down an overpriced sandwich. Definitely not going back. read more

Disappointed is an understatement this used to be one of our absolute favorite restaurants. Tonight saying they missed the mark is the nice way. The food was absolutely horrible I took two bites of my fish and told the server it tasted off and had a sour taste to it his only response was ok I'll tell them and took the plate he never took it off I would understand if I ate the whole plate, my daughter had the seafood pasta and the seafood in it was rubbery almost like it had been reheated. The server was the worst we have ever had. He was very rude and put off the vibe that it was an inconvenience to be working. The table we had was near the wall and the wall had black mold on it and the ceiling. read more

Fantastic. Best burger I've had in a long time. Atmosphere is very cool. Seems like a high end restaurant but with very reasonable prices. Much cheaper than any other restaurant in the area. Gourmet 1/2 pound burger and steak fries for $15. Highly recommend. read more

Came midday on Sunday, very nice atmosphere with saxophonist playing and brunch menu. Had mimosas and draft beer, crab cake eggs Benedict, and filet mignon eggs Benedict, which were delicious. After shopping in Fairhope, we decided to grab a bite to eat. So glad we chose this place. Service was fantastic ( ask for Lo). Food was amazing. We started with the crab cakes. Two large crab cakes on top of a bed of flash fried spinach. You heard right, flash fried spinach! My wife got the double cut pork chop and I got the special of the day which was blackened triple tail on top of Gouda mash potatoes. Both were incredible. We wanted to try the house made desserts but we were too stuffed. Ms. Tamara visited our table and after speaking with her I can see why this place was packed on a Thursday at 4:00. You HAVE to try this place. The owner came by our table several times and gave us the very best recommendations. The shrimp and grits with sausage was perfect. We also had the triple tail fish with mashed potatoes and it could not have been better. Great staff too. It was a very busy night but the food arrived quickly. We will def be back. What a delightful dinner experience! We were a little worried since they don't accept reservations and there were crowds of folks standing at the door waiting but we were quoted a 20/25 minute wait and at 25 minutes we were being seated. Our server Cameron was absolutely lovely- professional yet so personable giving great recommendations and small talk along the way. She was a wonderful server! We started with the Brie appetizer which was divine. The perfect combination of sweetness and saltiness. Not a crumb was left on the plate. I ordered the filet with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and parmesan risotto with a spring salad. My husband ordered the ribeye with steak fries and broccolini. We shared a turtle cheesecake for dessert. The entire meal was absolutely outstanding and we can not wait to return! Thank you Tamaras and staff for such a lovely evening. Edited to add: they were more than accommodating to my shellfish allergy which was much appreciated as most places that have a heavy seafood menu selection are not. read more

I just got back from a quick but wonderful stay in Fairhope. We ate at five fabulous restaurants while there, but I have to say that Tamara's was my favorite. The food was phenomenal! I had the appetizer BBQ shrimp and the appetizer crab cakes thinking that the servings would be small - OMG! Each serving was the size of an entree. I took home enough leftovers for another entire meal plus some! Both were absolutely delicious - even the next evening! Our waiter, I think his name was Drez, was the best waiter I've had in a long time. Very personable and extremely attentive. He answered my qazillion questions about the menu, made great recommendations and packed up my left overs with grace and charm! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Fairhope area. read more

It must mid afternoon almost empty maybe that was I was why the waitress was off her gameI asked her to box up my steak because I was too full she came back and gave us the check and went back to the bar to dry glasses , after about five minutes I got her attention and asked for my doggy bag, she said oops and went back to kitchen and got it.
