Tamara's has one of the best Happy hours in Fairhope. I have been going there and bringing family members who visit me there as well. But with that said , after yesterday's experience I will not be returning ever again. We found a $50 gift certificate in one of our drawers, that had expired in December of 2022. We brought it to the restaurant and asked if we could still use it, but Tamara would only honor $25 because it had expired. Are you kidding me !!!! She collected the $50 from my 81 year old Mother who bought us the gift card. The money she collected from my mother did not expire. Is she THAT HARD UP, that she could not honor the full $50. Does she realize that back in 2022, $50 went a lot further than it does today. Does she realize the money that she lost yesterday by not honoring the certificate, making my wife and I to decide to leave and not have appetizers, drinks and dinner as we originally planned. We have been loyal customers since 2020 but we will never be back again. In conclusion I suggest if you have a Tamara's gift card, check your expiration date because Tamara is so cheap, she will only honor half. I have heard numerous times that her employees come and go like a revolving door because of the way they are treated , I believe that to be true after yesterday's experience. I really enjoyed this place. The food was delicious and I went during happy hour so cheap drinks. I had escargot which I will say is not for everyone but was cooked nicely and flavored well. I also had their duck meal with the heirloom tomatoe soup. Definitely wouldn't get the tomatoe soup it was almost like dumping marinara sauce in a bowl. The duck was to die for. Very disappointed. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. In the menu it is listed as lump crab. It is clearly NOT lump crab. It looked like crab claw meat to me. My husbands burger was good though. read more

I have to say that I know many complained about service but the food is good, well I want to reverse that trend. My wife and I will be moving to Fairhope first week of April. First off no restaurants in Huntsville can hold a candle to Tamara's or any other in the Fairhope, south Alabama area. We wound up eating here two times while down here to sign papers on a home. We have as the filet, crab cakes, and the best salmon we have ever had and I mean after traveling all over the US, this was one of the best. The spinach/artichoke dip with the pita bread is outstanding. Marissa is a fantastic waitress who we got to know personally and is a great individual. The location is also fantastic. If you are staying downtown it is walking distance. While we did not have any adult beverages they do offer some great flights and happy hour specials which we will try when we move down. We have only eaten off the lunch menu and look forward to the dinner menu. We were also seated by Tamara and she is a hoot. Brought my father in law here today and he had a Steak that he said was the best he had ever had. Wife and I split the filet which for us was more than enough. Never have had a bad meal here and Marissa is one of the best waitstaff we have ever had at any restaurant. She's awesome and very attentive. Can't wait to come back now that we live in Fairhope. Still love coming here but hadn't been in a while due to travels. My wife and I love eating here. Spinach artichoke dip is best we have ever had. We like coming early because of their specials for lunch, before 4 and you get two meals for less than $40.00, not including tip or alcohol. We like to split the salmon and the filet. We also get salads, Caesar and I like just the garden greens with the strawberry dressing. The vegetables that come with the meal are fantastic and need no seasoning. Looking for something different in Fairhope, we came across this place. Its very cozy and the service was great. My daughter and I enjoyed the Jubilee pasta while my wife enjoyed her prime rib. It was a pleasant evening experience. We had the Caesar salad and really enjoyed it. My daughter pick out her favorite dessert from the dessert case by the door. As you walk in you need to stop and take a gander at the dessert case. I think its required. Great service and great atmosphere. read more

The spinach dip was good, the vegetable spring rolls were small and the Brie (my favorite from my last visit) was not done. The cocktails were watered down so opt for the beer and wine. I've been here many times, and my first few experiences were great: no issues with service, food, anything. We chose to go to brunch today based on my past visits, and bragged about how great this establishment was to my dad and his wife. However, all of those experiences were before i had my son. Today, I learned they're not as baby-friendly as I anticipated. First, we were ignored at the front for several minutes. While I'm holding a very active 23lb baby and my dad can't stand for prolonged periods of time (no seating for people to wait). Then we were told they only had high-tops left, so we took a chance with one of those. After getting seated, we were ignored for another 10ish minutes. And we watched other people get waited on. The lady who sat us left us standing awkwardly by our table waiting for a high chair. We had to flag her down and ask again for one. We then found out that not only is the hightop a good 6-8 inches above the high chair, the chair itself was old and rickety; not stable. So my son couldn't sit at the table and eat with us like we planned. Then, one of the larger tables was leaving. We asked another 2-3 staff members if we could move once the table was cleared. We were told, "we can't promise anything" by each. They didn't clear the table for probably 15-20 minutes, even though we watched the group leave with all their stuff to take pictures out front. In the end, because they took so long, they gave the table to another group who came in after us. Again, we were ignored, forgotten, whatever you want to call it. After that, we did get an order in. Then each subsequent visit from a different staff member. So I really have no idea who our server was and who got our tip. My water glass was never refilled, even though my dad's glass of tea got lots of attention and several top-offs. The only good thing: the food. The kitchen was in order and we all enjoyed what we ordered. I had a salmon BLT, and my dad & his wife had the filet mignon eggs Benedict. We renewed our membership to the Clean Plate Club today. I'm so, so mad and disappointed in the service, I'm seriously going to look at other options before coming back here, especially if I have my baby with me. Even though I love the food. There's so many places in and around Fairhope that will happily accommodate families with small kids. read more
