I thought the food was good, but not outstanding. We had dinner on a Sunday evening and sat in their patio. I shared the elote spears with my friends. These were creative, but very spicy. For my entree, I had the mahi-mahi and octopus tacos and the cucumber margarita. The tacos needed more flavor and the margarita needed more sweetness. The waitress delivered the wrong order to one person in my group, Other than this mishap, she was nice and friendly. The restaurant had lively music and the ambiance was upbeat.

I recently visited Tamarindo Del Mar and had a really enjoyable experience. The vibes here are great and the atmosphere feels relaxed and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The outside patio is especially pleasant and makes for a great place to sit, enjoy your meal, and take in the fresh ocean air. Being so close to the ocean really adds to the experience and gives the whole place a laid back coastal feel. The menu features Mexican and Latin fusion food with some creative and flavorful options. Everything I tried felt thoughtfully prepared and well balanced. The cucumber margarita was incredibly refreshing with a bright cucumber flavor and just the right touch of sweetness. It was crisp, light, and perfect for the setting. The seaside molcajete was a standout dish for me. It is a hearty seafood stew served bubbling hot and packed with different kinds of seafood. If you enjoy seafood, this is definitely something worth ordering. The Baja fish tacos were also very satisfying with thick pieces of fish that were flaky and flavorful. It is a simple dish but done very well. I also tried the chicken enchiladas which came as a comforting plate with a little bit of everything. The chicken was tender and the dish had a rich and satisfying flavor. Overall Tamarindo Del Mar is a great spot if you are looking for Mexican and Latin inspired dishes in a relaxed coastal setting. Between the pleasant patio, the ocean nearby, and the flavorful food, it is definitely a place I would come back to.

Lively, contemporary, Latin restaurant with a great patio and full bar. The staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. The menu has familiar Mexican food favorites, but also some elevated dishes with a creative twist. We enjoyed the Octopus+Mahi Tacos. Great depth of flavor, texture and spice. The Tamarind Lemonade was refreshing

We brought family that was visiting to this spot, and they were not disappointed. The Decor was cute and fun. Lots of seating inside with a little outside covered patio to also sit at. The staff were nice and attentive. Ian was the best server! He came and took our drink order right away and kept our drinks coming! He recommended we get the short ribs and WOW. They were so tender and flavorful! We also ordered the chicken quesadilla appetizer. There was a crispy cheese layer on the outside that added a good crunch. It paired well with the white lime salsa and fresh tomato salsa. I would recommend if you stop by to definitely make a reservation! It's nice for a big party and have food with a view!

I suggested that my team come here for a business lunch after having a great business dinner here months ago. There is easy, reasonably priced parking available in the nearby parking garage. We chose to sit inside because it was slightly drizzly but they have a great patio. The service was solid and attentive. The stars of the show were the elote and also the guacamole with pomegranate seeds. I had the grilled shrimp skewers entree-- tasty! Many of my colleagues got one of the lunch special deals. Everyone seemed pretty satisfied with their food. The one change that I would make is their Arnold Palmer; it tasted "off".

I want to start off by saying it's a cute spot with a nice view of the sunset! It was my first time here per my friend's recommendation but I will say the staff kinda made me feel rushed when it came to ordering and checking in on me and my party. I didn't mind the food, I really enjoyed the free chips and salsa! I also did like my mahi mahi tacos with the side of rice (no beans for me) & my coco island breeze drink (non-alcoholic)! I would definitely want to come again just for the views and food alone!

Very cute Mexican restaurant in Del Mar with outdoor or indoor seating. They're located in a shopping center which has a parking garage (first hour is free, then $3 every 30 mins). They bring complimentary chips and salsa as soon as u sit down. Margaritas we're good too I really liked the watermelon cold pressed marg. I ordered the rolled taco appetizer which was really good (they have the option of chicken or potato for it). Nice stop before going to the beach or bar hopping nearby, plenty of good places around and there's a very good ice cream shop nextdoor.

My girlfriend and I found this spot on Christmas Eve. Being Christmas Eve, we did not expect many places to be open but boy was Tamarindo a fun time. Food was delicious, but be warned they do bring some heat! We started with the elote, which was great for me but a bit on the spicy side. The server was very understanding when we notified that we couldn't do too spicy, which they were very friendly and accommodating. The aguachiles and seafood stew was flavored perfectly and serving size was generous. Glad we found this spot!

Very cute restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Food was ok, nothing really wrong with it, just not memorable. Started with great chips and delicious salsa. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with a fig mole sauce served with white rice and black beans. Unfortunately it was served lukewarm. White rice had zero flavor (although it was advertised as cilantro lime rice), beans were good but nothing special. The enchiladas were filled with nice tender chicken but very little mole. They were garnished with a little bit of lettuce, pico and a tiny bit of sour cream. I didn't taste any cotija cheese. Again, barely warm. Someone in my party ordered the shrimp pasta. It looked delicious. Another ordered the fish and octopus taco plate. She commented that there was very little octopus. Everything was just ok. There was a little mixup in serving two of the orders. One friend ordered rajas enchiladas with the mole sauce and the other ordered shrimp and rajas enchiladas with the verde and rancheros sauces. They were mixed up and it took quite a long time to get the remade enchiladas. No real apology from the server. We also started with the elote spears which were excellent! We had a bunch of empty dirty plates on the table when the entrees were served and had to make a special request to have them removed. Would I return? Probably not. I'm not a fan of lukewarm food and tasteless rice. Too bad because it's a beautiful location.

Super cute lunch spot with great drinks and even better food! Max was our server and he was awesome, definitely ask for Max. The shrimp Aguachiles was so good we had to get a second. They are also dog friendly and even have a dog menu. My pup had her first time out and she loved it here, everyone was so kind to her. We will definitely be back.

Every time we've been here, they've treated us like family. Especially our pup! Super duper dog friendly either inside or on the patio. Always good vibes here and the servers are super kind, especially on major holidays like Mother's Day (we also visited last Sunday and they had a good amount of people come in too but they handled everything so well!) Our food is always so delicious. It is on the pricier side for us but we love the ambiance and view so it kinda makes up for it. The salsa and chips is complementary and is also nice but I wish the chips tasted fresher as they were a little stale (nitpick) The fish and shrimp dishes we get all taste extremely fresh and they always have unique sauces and modern takes on traditional Mexican food. I wish we got more food because it's just that delicious, and definitely some dishes are more substantial than others, but overall we spent about $140 for 4 people and a dog (very appropriate for a 4 meals, a dog meal, and 2 drinks, esp in the area) and left feeling pretty full. Great place to find yourself if you wanna walk off the food you ate too, you're steps away from the beach. We will be coming back. Thanks for always taking care of us Tamarindo!

Lovely aesthetic and location too! Servers and hosts were all the sweetest :) We did come in with a reservation on Sat night, but had to wait maybe 10 mins until they got our table. It was a busy night and a lovely vibe in the area so we just walked around while we waited. Not an issue at all. Really creative food and drink menu. Group tried the seasonal Blackberry something margarita and seemed to like it. Elote Spears - 11/10 Unbelievably yum! The corn was soft but still perfectly charred and the combo of sauces and cotija as amazing. Perfect sweet-spicy vibe! Oaxacan Fig Mole - 10/10 Really lovely flavor here! I've heard of Mole sauces sometimes being too strong but this was perfect! Soft chicken (husband said a few pieces he got were overcooked), phenomenal black beans and overall lovely dish. Mahi Mahi Tacos - 10/10 Definitely surprised by the amount of fish in there (and it was yum and perfectly cooked!). Honestly love how simple it was (Grilled Swordfish, Cabbage Mix, Pineapple Pico, Cilantro, Corn Tortilla). None of the extra cheese crisp or aioli and such. A grea great healthy, high protein and lower calorie option. Pineapple pico was a great touch. Chicken Echiladas (Green & Red Sauce) - 9.5/10 Only reason I took off a point is because in comparison with everything else this was fairly normal. Well, now that I think of it, it was actually quite loaded and right amount of cheese and sauce balance. Had leftovers for the next day and it's still tasted lovely! Honestly, I think I preferred the green one over the red one but overall recommending. Crispy Zucchini Tacos - Friend who was vegetarian got this. I was actualy impressed that the place had a veg taco option that wasnt just beans. Really thoughtful.

I have been here twice now while visiting from out of state and we've started looking forward to coming here. The service was excellent, and funnily enough, we had the same waiter one year apart who recognized our group as the night went on. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and dishes. They were even able to help accommodate the common allergies at our table with ingredient swap suggestions. It's a smaller dining space so getting reservations for a group was strongly recommended to us. Parking in the nearby garage was easy.

Best place to eat before a show at the Belly Up!…read more My go-to has been the filet medallions. Always great! Perfectly cooked each time. Cocktails are on point. Old fashioned was excellent. Wine list is what you need. Not huge, but full of solid wines. Review for the attached restaurant: Kind and efficient service. Joy was stellar!!! Nice welcome upon coming in. Server had it all nailed down. Look forward to coming again! 5/20/26 visit

I have always wanted to attend a concert here, but either I wasn't in Solana Beach at the right…read moretime or I could not make it down. We were looking for a fun evening to bring in the Christmas spirit post Thanksgiving and I saw this advertised concert on the website that I thought our daughter would really enjoy. I went ahead and purchased our tickets which were very reasonable for a show. I love that Belly Up has its own website so people can still afford to attend their shows. We saw Grammy nominated and Father of Contemporary Jazz David Benoit perform all the Peanuts Christmas songs from A Charlie Brown Christmas. WOW! What a terrific show! We sat on the main floor right up close to the stage and we all had such a good time especially our daughter as it was a surprise show for her. The layout is perfect with lots of open space, a bar area, dance floor and a second level. It is quite large inside but you cannot see that from the outside. Acoustics are perfect and David Benoit is still the master of the piano. He had a guest vocalist Courtney Fortune which added to the evening performance. Parking is about the only challenge so we made sure to arrive extra early and grabbed a spot right out front. Also parking was free! I definitely recommend this venue for good service and great music.
