Staff was very nice. Spray tan was horrible & unsanitary imo. They leave a towel on the ground that every person stands on (ew) and it has so much tanning spray buildup that by the time you're out of there, the bottom of your feet will be stained black. I spent literally hours, elbow grease, and too many chemicals & concoctions trying to get the stains off of my hands & feet that they are burning and raw. I did this in preparation for a party and to wear a new dress and show off my mani pedi, but everything was so streaky that I ended up having to wear long sleeves and boots. Hi everyone. Tan central is located 5 min from me, and when I was a member a few yrs back it was perfect. Problem, I've only used them for the red light therapy. $69.00 a month. I now wanted to continue my monthly membership to be told it's now $200.00 a month. They literally cut the place into half because Blend has taken over the other side. So now extremely limited to beds. I asked the girl, who's just doing her job said the $200.00 alows you to use everything. I just need the redlight therapy since my oncologist gave me the green light to use it, scientists are now seeinf that redlight helps to detox from radiation and chemo. Well, I left, i was upset, because that policy is strange when not everyone wants everything. Other sun places are less expensive. My wife came in for a spray tan for a wedding that she was going to be in over the weekend. After a full explanation of what to expect and what she should do after the spray tan, the owner, began her session. My wife told me she was a bit chilly, but she was told that this was to be expected. The whole process took them about ten minutes. My wife air dried for a few minutes and said she felt a bit sticky. She was told that this was a sugar based product and it would be sticky for an hour or two. She had the Venetian anti-orange spray which turned out amazing. She was the tannest bridesmaid. Absolutely beautiful job done by Tan Central. My wife was so excited about the results that I went back and bought her an annual pass to keep up her glow! read more

This is the best place around to go for a tan, great prices and the owner is a sweetheart! She has an amazing style for clothes too if your looking for something country western, but you can wear it anywhere, not just the farm :). I needed a tan to go on vacation to Hawaii in December. I called and they said I could do a spray down there and it was walk-in and you don't need a membership. I was super happy because I've been dealing with California Tan in folsom, and dealing with them has become a complete nightmare so I was super happy that I could get a spray tan. I walked in and paid, and then they told me that the machine was broken. I was super disappointed because my plane was to leave the next day. The lady was super apologetic and she said that they would airbrush me for the same cost and they also gave me a tanning session as well. I was in need to find someone for a spray tan for a bachelorette party that was happing over the weekend. My usual girl was booked up so I found this place and thought it would be okay to get a custom airbrush (never had a bad one before). The staff was a little unfriendly but that does not bother me if the job is done well... which it was not. I was not asked what color I wanted my spray tan to be before she started spraying and had to ask if it was light/ medium which she said it was. Once we were finished she was going to just leave the room and I had to ask wether or not I needed to dry. She said yes for two minutes and had no machine to dry me. I obviously left very sticky due to that fact. What was worse than being uncomfortably sticky was the ultra dark splotchy color on my skin. I have had MANY custom airbrushes before and have NEVER been left this dark. She told me that the color was just cosmetic and that I would have to wait 8 hours until I could shower until the color would lessen. I am no stranger to this process and can realize when it is done incorrectly. I left and immediately sent pictures and a message to my usual girl and she said that it was really bad and that I should wash it off as soon as possible. My fiancé called to see if I could get a refund and the lady working there said that she would only give a store credit for another spray tan. I will not be returning for that and I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

There have been a lot of inconsistent reviews for this place and it appears some people are using this forum to vent their personal issues. I would ignore those. I have been going here for a few years off and on and I find it to be all of the things it needs to be for a tanning salon. Clean. Convenient. And the staff is pleasant. I am a supporter of women owned business and the owner here is working hard to make a nice experience for her customers. Some people say her prices are high but this is EDH and the rent in Town Center is out of control so if cheap is what you are after go somewhere else. She just remodeled and added new merchandise. Her hours are limited on the weekend so check the website before you go. Otherwise - I would recommend this place to others. read more

I am laughing at how gross and petty the main receptionist is I felt like I was back in high school and she was the mean girl. In her defense I did not call and cancel my appointment which is very distracting for her because it's hard to schedule other people but her attitude was not a good look for a place of business. Which is shocking because before I moved I came here before and had an excellent experience and even recommend people to come back. I'm usually not the one to leave reviews but the customer service was absolutely TERRIBLE. The lady at desk was so rude and unhelpful. I was so uncomfortable I instantly left. I work in customer service myself so I understand where employees can get frustrated and not be helpful to customers. But the amount of attitude I received is unacceptable. This tanning salon is not busy nor has stressful enough atmosphere to reflect her behavior. I'm am not your punching bag. Here is a letter I sent to the management about the false misleading agreements they have you sign, then they sell these contract to a third party. The owners "HIDE" and make these poor teenagers who work there deal with pissed off customers! Hi Cassidy, Thanks for sending me the contract. It clearly shows I agreed to a 6 month plan and only agreed to 5 payments being authorized to be deducted from my account (nothing more). I find it funny that 22.00 per transaction were actually deducted from my account when I signed and agreed for 20.00. So again all I'm requesting is my 22.00 refund I did NOT authorize for October (and now 10.00 more for over charging for 5 months) and we can end this. Your contract is vague at best when referencing an "open ended agreement", the fact is clearly stated that I agreed to 5 payments (nothing more) and I followed through with my agreement as explained to me by your staff and written in this contract. A 6 month plan is a 6 month plan period! I was charged an additional 30.00 to get a 6 month plan to begin with! Anything else is misleading at best; you need to be VERY clear with your customers and you are NOT! I now understand why others have screamed and yelled at your employees regarding money referencing accounts while I was in your shop, I never understood till now what the rage was about. I was there one day the poor girl (your employee) was being ripped up and down by a pissed off customer and she was in tears because of this same issue! Your ownership team needs to take control of these issues you make and quit sticking these teenagers with your problems as they don't deserve to have to cover your bad business practices. I request the refund of 32.00 within 10 days or I will seek legal action to get my funds returned to me. I will also sue for unauthorized debts to my account, false and misleading business practices. That contract is full of holes! You can't have it both ways! read more

The salon part itself is nice as well as the girls that work there. However - beware of the 1 year contract. It automatically renews itself. You will not be told this when you sign up for it. And - you will not get your $$ back either if you do not cancel it. Cancelling it is complicated. So - I will finish our my "pre-paid" months and go to a different salon. I've tanned here a few times and they always seem under staffed and offer very little in the form of customer service. In the past I've chalked up the lack of friendliness to bring a one person show. Looking back I'm not sure why it's never busy???I called today to check pricing and different packages. I was shocked by how rude the girl was! All I can say is WOW. Use your head! You are in a little town HOWEVER close enough to Folsom that we do have options! The only way you'll make it is by being friendly with potential customers and not acting like someone is bothering you to ask a few questions about the services offered! I've been coming here for a couple of years now. Sometimes I go months without a visit but since I purchased a package of 80 red light sessions at 50% off I still stop by occasionally. I liked the original location as much as the new...maybe they moved because of the cost of rent. I was reading the Yelp "tips" and totally agree that they need to have more than one person working here when they are taking air brush appointments. There were two of us in the front waiting and listening to the air brush session for about 15 minutes before they were finally finished. I hope they have good security cameras because someone could have come in and cleaned the place out. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT SIGN A 6-12 MONTH CONTRACT! They don't even take care of their own memberships. They hire an outside company to do that. I, like Darin M. below had issues. Not only did they raise the price $2 WITHOUT notification (which is illegal), they make it impossible to get out of the contract. When I went in to cancel my membership, they told me I had to call AAC to cancel. I called AAC and voiced my desire to cancel, and explained the reasons why. First off, the lady was terribly rude. Second, they claim that no one was notified of the price increase because it was on the news... still illegal. Lastly, they told me I had to email or send in a written letter giving them my 30 day notice. What the **ll?! Thats ridiculous, I call a number to cancel and instead of canceling I have to contact them AGAIN with a letter? So, I emailed them with a 30-day notice. After the 30 days were up, they still charged me! I reported them, and the tanning salon to the BBB. Never got a refund. AAC "claims" they never got my notice. The worst part? I had to re-send in my 30 days and pay yet another month! Horrible customer service. read more

My husband and I have been going here for the past 2 years and I had a real bad experience in the beginning but they seem to be running okay. Their prices, however, leave something to be desired. I have seemed to have no problem with the tanning beds but the X2 tanning bed is not all what it's cracked up to be. I'd rather go in a super bed. We did cancel our membership when summertime came because we have a pool but I am about to go back so I hope the new owner has changed things, she seems very nice. read more

I went to the salon after hearing that the customer service was bad. I wanted to use this location because it is so convenient to where I work and live. I have had nothing but great service here. The owners are very nice people. I've never had any issues with beds or timing. The only downside to Tan Central is that they are a bit more expensive than other salons in the area. read more

If you were a past client and something went wrong with your account...ALL debt is being wiped out so EVERYONE can start fresh. Also due to being under new ownership if you feel you were wronged before give them a call and see what can be worked out. You will no longer be disappointed!! read more
