Our family tried Tan Dinh, and while some dishes were good, some were not the best. The restaurant is new and they have lots of tables. We came on a Sunday and it wasn't as busy. Our food took a while and they forgot one dish. The waiter didn't check as often and the forgotten dish finally came after asking a couple of times. This is what we ordered: -Grilled corn with dried shrimp: I enjoyed this appetizer. It was sweet and simple. -Fresh spring rolls: This one was ok. There was a lot of lettuce and it wasn't as flavorful. Usually spring rolls are a safe dish, but they weren't the best here. -Grilled pork broken rice dish: it came with an egg cake, rice, salad, and shrimp cake. Everything tasted great but the pork. The pork was cut into small pieces and was dry. -Chicken Pho: We never order chicken pho, but my mother-in-law decided to try it, and this was surprisingly very flavorful. It was a very good dish. -Sticky rice with grilled chicken: The chicken had a sweet soy sauce taste. My daughter did not like it, but my mother-in-law did. It is a preference. I thought the flavor was a bit too overpowering. Overall I think this restaurant has some solid dishes and some are ok. The menu is extensive and a bit overwhelming. We Visited Tan Dinh Restaurant recently and had a disappointing experience. Even though the restaurant wasn't crowded, we waited about 30 minutes for our food. We only ordered phở, miến gà, and bột chiên. The phở and miến gà were okay, nothing special but the bột chiên was hard and didn't taste fresh. I also tried their chicken goi with bap chuoi and that was so yummy (lots of onion crisps if you like that). I have heard that they can take a while (up to an hour) to give you your food after ordering so keep that in mind. Lackluster experience! I'm pretty forgiving and patient but when my food barely comes out after everyone in my group finishes their meal, dang. I ordered a nui xào bò lúc lắc while my mom ordered miến gà and my brother got beef pho. Both their orders came out before mine and they both said the food was really greasy. My food took forever to come out! I looked around and see people coming in after us getting their food first. My mom flagged down a waiter to cancel my order at this point but he said they're almost done. My food came out when my family finished their meal and at that point, I just had everything to-go because it was late and I didn't want to eat there. Not a word of apology, nothing. TLDR: Warning - Ask how long orders are taking before you get seated. Our four bowls of pho and one rice plate took one hour to arrive... for pho. Food itself was essentially what you've had at most other places. Ambiance (4/5): * As far as pho places go, pretty nice, comfortable, much newer feeling, open, high ceilings. Service (1/5): * One star for not being rude, at least there's that. * Had to flag down to order. * Had to ask two different people for water. * Food took an hour to get to our table. The only thing I was disappointed about was the chicken was not boneless. It was annoying trying to get rid of the bones. It's one of the things I dislike when eating chicken pho and prefer boneless. I also love the chili oil they leave out on the table and you don't need to ask. It was so good to add to the soup.
