My family and I come here ever now and then. The food is great and the staff is nice. The wait times to get the check can be a tad long though. I typically order the vegetarian platter. It has many smaller versions of vegetarian dishes. I recommend getting the special naan as an appetizer. It is right from the oven and has lots of flavor! I would like to start saying the food here is good but the SERVICE is TERRIBLE & DISRESPECTFUL !!!! Folks working there are inattentive, discourteous and stingy when it comes to serving food. The menu lists they serve rice with every veg recipe "Freshly made curry from an age-old recipe all served with Basmati rice" BUT !!! when they serve they will only bring 1 serving of Basmati rice irrespective of the number of entree's ordered and when you request for a rice refill they act as if you asked for their kidneys !!!!! they will take forever to get you next serving and when they get it will be barely a refill.....and if you happen to box the left overs they wouldn't want to give you to-go box or bag Overall VERY DISRESPECTFUL staff they just seem to have a good chef. read more

Surprised at the number of good reviews on here. Look up Google's reviews for a more accurate picture of this restaurant (as well as some scary pest issues). The bottom line is that the food is decent but the service is atrocious. The hostess is mentioned at length in the Google reviews, but I have to mention my experience with her here. She seems burnt out and that causes her to be rude to customers. My wife had the audacity to call before 5 to see if she could place an order to be ready when the doors opened at 5:00. She was belittled by this hostess and told she wil have to call back at 5:00 to place the order. I called back at 5:00 and the same woman acted like I was inconveniencing her when I asked to place an order. I've never had someone sigh before when I asked them if I can give them business. I then placed my order but the hostess misunderstood and asked me if i wanted another dish. I repled no, and started to check the menu to make sure I got my order right (I did) but before I could confirm she told me to call back when I figured out what I wanted. I ended up going to Taste of India and I recommend you do the same. read more

I have only eaten here once, but I thought I should give a shout out to this restaurant anyway. On the one occasion that I ate at Tandoor, I decided to partake in the buffet. Let me tell you, this is the buffet that defies all buffets!!!! I know what you must be thinking, a good buffet? A good INDIAN buffet at that? I know, I know, but let your apprehensions fall to the wayside, folks, because this is a buffet that will blow your mind. I cannot recount all the delicious dishes that I gouged myself on, but each and every single thing I put in my mouth was phenomenal. The buffet is very well maintained, staff are constantly stirring the food and checking to see if it is still fresh and replacing anything that seems sub par. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great! Beautiful artwork that was painted by the owner's wife line the walls. There is a gorgeous shrine near the entry way that is worth stopping and appreciating. There are tapestries and statues and many other neat things that make up a feeling that seems to authenticate the restaurant. For some ambiance, the restaurant had some Indian music playing. When asked, the manager told us that it was the 'Slumdog Millionaire' soundtrack. My friend that I was dining with was actually offered the burnt copy of the CD that was playing, simply because he said that he liked it and wanted to go out and buy it later. How nice is that?? "Hey, I like this CD!" says friend "Here you go sir, you may have it." the manager. WTF??? Awesome!! The staff is very kind and attentive. They were very quick to refill my beverage each time it got low. I don't know if this is a common thing, but while I was there, the manager of the restaurant visited each table to ensure that the diners were enjoying their meal, which is something that I appreciated. At the doorway you can find a large dish filled with baked coconut and fennel seed which is supposed to help the body digest the food that was just consumed. It looks kind of like bird seed. I took a handful and chewed it up, and with some difficulty, swallowed it. It definitely wasn't that good to eat, wasn't terrible either, but it DID help me digest my food. I thought that was kind of cool because not only do they care about the quality of the food they serve, the atmosphere and decor of their restaurant while you eat, but they also care about how the food gets digested in your belly :) This is a must-try restaurant for any fan of Indian food. We stopped in on a Saturday for the lunch buffet. The waitress that was working couldn't have cared less if we were there or not. She was a young lady who was not at all friendly, nor did she appear she wanted to be there. Much more interested in her cell phone. (Dock 1 star) The food was very good. The goat curry was crazy good! My wife who doesn't like goat liked it also. The Samosa's and the Aloo Tikki appetizers were very good also. My wife had the Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Curry which were both very good also. The only clunker was the naan. ( I know, the naan...) It was so dried out it was inedible. One young man working saw it and apologized and said there would be more coming out right away, but we never saw it. (Dock the 2nd star) All in all we will be back to try it again when we are in the area. Oh, and the young lady that greeted and seated us was also the person working the cash register when we left. went a few times for dinner when we first moved to the cities before we found another indian place we liked better. In all we had the Dum Aloo, Saag Paneer (palak?), chicken tikka marsala, daal, and the namesake tandoor selections. overall i'd say their dishes were watery and not particularly flavorful. if you ask them to increase the spice they turn up the fire without improving the taste of the food. On top of the mediocre food the huffy lackadaisical service is what pushed this place over the edge for us. Mind you, we're not high maintenance restaurant patrons, but we often felt that the proprietors of the restaurant felt they were doing us a favor when we ate there. Man...this hurts me to give a bad review. But yelp deserves the truth. I love Indian food and I get the same two dishes at every Indian place to find out how good the restaurant really is...and the two dishes I got were chicken tikka masala & shaahi paneer with garlic naan. Now, considering I paid $30+ for dinner for two dishes I expected a awesome authentic food...right? I was wrong. It was dull, plain, and just okay. Nothing said this food was made with passion or sense of quality. It was a just "matter" and substance. Was on vacation and my friend told me this spot was great for Indian. My favorite dish locally here is Lamb Vindaloo but it seems they have a different recipe for this as the sauce was more of a brown color and less of a red color, BUT that didn't take away from the dish, it was more savory and flavorful then I'm used to but not as spicy (which explains the lack of red in the sauce) The service was great and they were very attentive. I wish I could try this place out a few more times to give it an accurate review but I'll leave it as a 4 for now! read more

We're frequent visitors of Tandoor and spend a lot of time eating their delicious food! Let me just say... if the owners are not in that day, you're pretty much screwed. But given that they are present nearly 99.9% of the time, you're in for a real treat. The last time we visited this place we went on a rainy Sunday and expected a lackluster buffet, given the cruddy weather. Man oh man were we wrong! All the dishes were savory beyond compare. As per usual, every single dish was out in full force. I LOVE their Dosa combined with Coconut Chutney.... mmm. You also can't beat their heavenly Naan. The family and I went there and it was fantastic. The curries were absolutely delicious, as were the mango lassis. Their lamb sampling platter was also quite excellent as well. Everything was delicious, filling and delivered in a timely manner. The atmosphere is good too and the minute you walk in it smells exactly like you'd expect it to. The only complaints I might have is that the staff seemed a little impatient and the restaurant wasn't busy. They were polite enough and smiled, maybe could have spoken up a little louder too. Also, I think whatever recording they had to play their music needed to be replaced, because it sounded like they were playing a CD with scratches on it or something. We went there for the lunch buffet on a Saturday just before noon. It is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to ....all of the dishes retained their unique flavors and had the spices that make Indian food so good. The staff will bend over backwards to make you feel comfortable andget you what you want. Very humble.
