After doing some research at home, I saw that it would have been better to eat them as soon as they were made, so I will need to return on a more pleasant day and eat them there. They still tasted amazing to me after the trip home. The service was fast and friendly. They were also very helpful answering my questions. I would have ordered more but I had already ordered from another food truck as well. I will be back to enjoy some more of this amazing Indian vegetarian street food!

The "kabob" roll is a Pakistani street food staple perfected over eons of toil by Pakistani chefs slaving over hot stoves and grills {even though the country is only 73 years old as of this writing and was once part of the British empire's Indian colony [so technically it's a British dish then? (Another thing they stole from us!)]} ... anyway I digress. Kabob roll typically made with kabob (beef, or Lamb by our Indian cousins) but almost as popularly and arguably more often made with Chicken. The menu here has the favorites you'd expect to find at a Karachi kabob roll house. The fact that they had a garlic mayo roll got me and the better half glee with glee. And while it was a valiant effort it wasn't quite the besting the "streets" of Karachi and then came the Tikka Boti Roll and man does that thing take you back to the streets of wherever you call home where they serve the same thing. The secret menu was a little confusing as far as what was included, so I had to a la carte some items that I thought were included. The food was OK, but I've definitely had better Indian meals. A potential detractor to the experience was the true crime series playing on a TV in front of my face showing several female victims of a serial murderer being toted off in body bags. Just doesn't really go with chicken tikka. Also, there was heavy cigarette smoke coming from somewhere inside the gas station. In summary, this was every bit as bizarre an experience as you might expect from the phrase "gas station Indian meal." Just not one I care to repeat.

You may be immediately confused to see this menu ... ask for the Indian menu.

2 Stars for their burgers, 4 stars for their tasty Sunday breakfast buffet. Rounded off to 3 stars overall. This place is not about ambiance or excellent customer service by way of knowledgeable waiters/staff - so I'm not even including that aspect in my review. Good news first, the Sunday breakfast buffet: Oh man, keep the puris (fried bread) coming! I went there for the halwa puri, but ended up mostly having the fresh nihari, chickpeas, and other vegetable dishes. The halwa was OK, but the puris and other entrees in the buffet were excellent. Now the bad news, Burgers: I've had to eat here in a pinch several times, and have experienced cold buns, dry patties, and haphazard assembly of the burger itself. It's as if at times the condiments and cheese are trying to save the burger. Once or twice the patty was quite flavorful and juicy, but it was the minority of the time. Also, the bun itself is below average. It is filling though, and if you need beef, cheese, condiments, and bread in your system ASAP - I guess it's worth a shot if you're in the area (Cafe Yasmin's burgers are better than those of their neighbors in the same strip mall - Texas Grill Express). read more

This is the one desi restaurant in town where the food quality has improved over time instead of the other way around. I am huge nihari buff and I will guarantee you that this is hands down the best nihari in the Houston area. Most of the other dishes are good to excellent. I've always felt the service is pretty good. Yes, the interior has gotten a big dilapidated over the past few years and I wish they would take care of that. But on food quality alone - Café Yasmeen is up there among the 3 or 4 top restaurants in town for Pakistani food. read more
