It's a cheap Chinese buffet in a tiny strip mall. So go with moderate expectations and you won't be disappointed. The place is small for alot of the Chinese buffet you see these days, but the selection is good. Lots of choices, mainly Chinese. Which is good in my opinion. I don't go to a Chinese buffet for pizza or chicken nuggets or fish sticks. There is a hibachi grill options as well. Nice selection of the basics needed to create your own stir fry. Food was good, fresh and well seasoned. More than met our expectations and we will be back.

It's a decent size place. I'm not sure how long it's been opened, but the choices of the buffet are very limited, even for the hibachi grill. I'm not disappointed because after reading the previous reviews, I expect way worse. It turns out not that bad at all. There are couple dishes that stand out. Their hot n sour soup satisfies my taste buds well. I like their BBQ ribs. Actually, I cleared the whole rack. Their fried chicken is absolutely fine. Food wise, the dishes aren't the best, but absolutely edible. I wouldn't call them disgusting. Certain things though: the hibachi grill's displays of raw ingredients kind of make me question how long have they been out? Maybe they should ice them better? Several trays of foods are warm, not hot. By the time I get back to my table, some components on my plate are warm, some are room-temperature. Looking pass all the foods, the service is spot on. As soon as I push a plate out to the end of the table, our server comes by to pick it up right away. In the near future, I hope they expand the buffet a little bit more, and pay more attention to the trays as they become warm and not hot.

All of the tasty items at the buffet tonight.

It's actually difficult to start this because I was so shocked that everything on the buffet and I mean everything was fresh, seasoned well and tasty. And the constant wide eyes, smiley faces, and omgs from my fiance confirmed that he felt the same. I quite honestly can't remember the last time I went to a Chinese buffet and every single entree was made hot off the grill, and cooked in the last 5 minutes. So let me try and start with some things that I felt were excellent. I was excited to see that crab legs we're being replenished every single time it was almost empty. The crab legs were perfectly cooked seasoned well & recently made. I was even shocked that the egg rolls were crispy, crunchy & piping hot. The honey shrimp is amazing & the fried rice, yes something as simple as rice was seasoned well and tasty. The sushi is good but not the best, but seriously who comes to a Chinese buffet for sushi and if they do this will suffice. The grill was excellent I nearly cleared my fiance's plate. The sesame chicken and the orange chicken was very good. The chicken and broccoli was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. This is my new spot to come to and these folks will not be able to get rid of me. The service was excellent and the waitstaff kept our drinks refilled and the buffet full. You get so much more then what you pay for at this place. You should certainly dine here tonight.

My Daughter and I stopped for lunch. Not much ambiance…read more Our server was nice. She tried. Unfortunately our food left a lot to be desired. We ordered the vegetable spring rolls they had very little filling, had an odd flavor from the oil, but were very crispy. I ordered the hibachi lunch. My daughter ordered General Taos chicken. The portions were large. The fried rice had hard dried out pieces of rice, I guess it had sat open somewhere and dried out. the menu said my chicken would have a teriyaki sauce, not teriyaki, some not good sauce which was so salty I couldn't eat it. The raw chicken had not been covered I am guessing, because it had a 'skin' on it? I could not eat it. My lunch came with a choice of salad or clear soup. I chose the salad, was very crispy but it had almost an 1/2 inch of water in the bottom of the bowl. My daughter said her clear soup was excellent. Her General Taos chicken had an old freezer taste she said . We were totally unable to eat the entrees. So sad. We had hoped that this would be our go to place for Chinese food.

We went to Salt & Light for Sushi immediately after landing in Gonzales because we were starving,…read moreand it turned into one of the best date nights we've had in a long time. We met the owner, Shelly, who is originally from China, and she was incredibly warm and welcoming. What really surprised us was that they served us fresh wasabi instead of the usual paste -- I've never had that before, and it was amazing. Once you try it fresh, you can never go back. Our server, Dashay, was fantastic -- kind, attentive, and just such a lovely young woman. We started with hot sake and Kirin draft beer, then ordered a spicy tuna roll and a hamachi (yellowtail and scallion) roll, both of which were excellent. We also had tempura -- the batter was a little thick for my personal taste, but the sauces were so good that it still hit the spot. My favorite dish was the ama ebi (sweet shrimp), especially because they bring out the fried shrimp head, which was crispy and delicious. The sushi was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully balanced. Between the amazing food and the genuine hospitality, we had such a wonderful evening. I can absolutely see why this is Parker's favorite sushi spot in Gonzales. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back.

My Wife and I have been visiting Tsunami (Downtown & Highland Locations) for years. When this place…read moreis at its best, it's great. We typically start with an order of the Gyoza, both preparations are very good. The Eggplant Miso is also very good but very rich. I only suggest ordering this if you have at one or two people to split it with. Just recently we started our meal with the Baked Salmon. While flavorful we were a bit disappointed. It was 80% snow crab mix and not very much salmon at all. We have tried at least 12 different rolls. The cooked and raw varieties are always great and the fish seems to be fresh. As far as drinks go the Haiku is one of their signature cocktails and is typically very good. Just recently, 6-27-2026, we had our first underwhelming experience at the location on Highland. It was the first bad experience in a decade or longer, so I won't hold it against them, most restaurants have an off night. The sushi was mostly rice, the fish was a tad off and the service was not the best. My rating will reflect how most of our experiences have been, which is really good. The most recent experience will not count unless it becomes a pattern.
