This place was amazing! From the service to the portions, pricing, & flavor it was all on point. This place was so filling and tasted amazing. We came here the morning after getting engaged in Yosemite and it was the perfect spot. The name sold us right away lol. I had the country fried steak with biscuits and gravy, and he had one of the breakfast burritos that had biscuits and gravy inside of it. The server also gave us a side of the homemade adobo and it paired great with the burrito. Lastly, we got a hot chocolate to go, and it was so tasty & creamy. Will definitely be back the next time we come to yosemite. read more

3.5 stars rounded to 4. Tried to come here for dinner on a Sunday at 4:30, but they were closed, despite their hours saying they should be open until 6. Major disappointment. But, I was happy that we got to try them for breakfast. Food was good. I enjoyed my bacon, avocado, cheese omelette with added onions. They stuffed it/werent stingy with the filling. I originally wanted to get the house potatoes, but they said they couldn't get them crispy because of the onions/peppers in it. So, I got the hash browns instead and they were nice and crispy like I like. My family seemed to enjoy their dishes as well. Service was fine. It could have been a bit more attentive, considering we were one of two tables. But, no real complaints. Parking lot is kinda small, but not a problem during winter. I would definitely come back and recommend it if it's along your way to Yosemite. read more

If breakfast is your thing, this place deserves a spot at the top of your list. And if you're a biscuits-and-gravy or chicken-fried-steak person, honestly, you'll want to stop here more than once. I went for the Country Boy, which comes with their house-made biscuits and from-scratch gravy paired with a perfectly cooked chicken fried steak. I added eggs because... why not? Photos don't even come close to showing how good this plate really is. It's comfort food done right, and this spot is officially our go-to whenever we're in the area. The inside is surprisingly spacious, the atmosphere feels relaxed, and major bonus, they welcome well-behaved dogs. That alone makes it an easy choice for us. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped by on a Saturday morning. When we entered, we greeted the workers and told them good morning. We received absolutely no response from them. They warmed up a little when we approached the counters. We ordered avocado toast which came on sourdough, with everything bagel seasoning, thick cuts of tomato and micro greens. I also ordered over medium eggs on the side. The food was served on paper plates. The toast was very underwhelming. It was generally flavorless without adding a lot of salt and hot sauce. The bread was not hearty or toasted enough to support all the toppings. The tomato was cut in thick slices which made it hard to cut with the plastic forks. There was a generous amount of microgreens on to. However the toast desperately needed salt and an acid, like a pickled onion, in order to fill out the flavor. And at $14, the quality doesn't justify the price. I also ordered a side of potatoes and they were very soggy and unseasoned. I don't think I'd return. read more

Good last stop on your way to Mather/Yosemite. No wait on a Sunday around 1pm. The staff is friendly and there is a cute kid who was working (cleaning, checking in on tables, etc) but also befriended my shy kids by asking if they wanted to play and providing an awesome box of legos. Food was fine, nothing to write home about, but it is a cozy spot with wifi. * BLT with zucchini - 3.5 stars. * Kids grilled cheese - My 5 and 7 year-olds liked this. It came with fruits like cantaloupe & wintermelon. * Brisket Philly - My partner ordered this. The meat was a little tough. A bit simplistic with sour cream instead of maybe an aioli. We got one dish for the 2 kids and were charged a $3 share fee (no mention of this when we ordered). It was $73 total for a filling meal for 2 adults, 2 small kids. read more

Yes , yes yes! Loved the biscuits and gravy with chicken fried steak which they dip in buttermilk not eggs. I can't eat eggs so breakfast sometimes is limited but not so much here! They have plenty of eggs dishes but so many delicious alternatives like the hash browns with black beans and avocado which my friend had and it was also so good! This place has the best service ever. We had the best experience dinning in on our way to Yosemite National Park. We are so glad to have experience a welcoming and warming atmosphere. My friends and I really enjoyed this place for breakfast. Their portions are generous. I got the Smoked Brisket Burrito, which didn't disappoint. I saved the other half for later. My friend got their waffle and enjoyed it however I didn't care for it as it tasted like a sugary donut. Service was great and Linda was very helpful with suggestions of what to do in Yosemite. She has all sorts of information planning your day depending on what time of year or what time of day. We ended up checking out the less traveled Lake Tenaya, on her recommendation which was AMAZING! This is a review for takeout. I haven't sat down and ate inside the cafe. I ignored the two bad reviews. They sounded weird... but when I called in the place the order, I heard a welcoming voice. She gave me a 10min time of when it would be ready. But when I told her I'd be there in 15mins, she notated for the cook to have it ready by then so it wouldn't be sitting cold. It's a cute little cafe. With drawings of a child drew and overall the place is spacious but very small and very limited seating. I ordered the 2 Egg breakfast. Crispy bacon and over medium eggs. And hashbrowns. When I arrived, it was ready and still freshly made. Even driving all the way back home, it was still pretty warm. The food was good. Either that or I was hungry. I ordered the Lotta Love coffee too? Chocolate and white mocha I think? It was pretty good too. The cup doesn't keep it too hot but that's what my Yeti is for :). Would eat there again! read more

Yes, I suggest people driving to Yosemite stop for a great homestyle meal. Husband and wife team cook and bake delicious food. Burgers and Breakfast wonderful and lots of food for the same price as Bay Area that usually gives less for the buck. We finally got out to try Tangled Hearts Cafe today. I'm so glad we did! My husband had the meat loaf sandwich special with fries and I had the Chicken Philly sandwich with a side salad. All of it was delicious. The bread was soft and fresh (I'm guessing it was from their bakery down the road). This is a cute, casual price to eat. The tables are spaced so that you have privacy. The booths are lined up by the windows which look out at pines and mountains. The service was great. Go there and eat! You won't be disappointed. read more

I had breakfast at Tangled Hearts Cafe in Buck Meadows on 14 May 25, and it was amazing! Ladena was our server, and she took such good care of us. Growing up in East Tennessee, I am very picky about my sausage gravy. I asked if I could have a sample. It was delicious and I ordered the Hillbilly. I heard Ladena tell the chef it was Tennessee approved! My friend had the veggie omelet, and she loved it. We loved this restaurant so much that we ate there again on Sat, 17 May, before driving back to Southern California. My friend had the French toast, and I had the Hillbilly again. The food was amazing! We got to meet the owner, Amelia, and her daughter Luna. Such wonderful people! Can't wait to come up to our family cabin in Pine Mountain Lake again in Jun with my grandkids. I will definitely take them to the Tangled Hearts Cafe, and yes, I will order the Tennessee approved Hillbilly again! read more

This is a must stop if you are in Buck Meadows or Groveland. Food has a home cooked feel. Fresh ingredients and great menu choices. Portions are generous. Service is fantastic from this family run business. We came for breakfast and the food was so good we came back for lunch the next day. Not recommended. Overpriced sandwich shop marketing itself as a dinner house. Have to say this, as a local, this isn't the Tangled Hearts Bakery we had come to love and enjoy at the location down the street. I can't believe this is the same company or family owned business. Service was terrible. Sandwich was terrible. Far better options in the area for dinner. ps: Management had a hard time understanding why telling a seated customer that their food was unilaterally being boxed as a to-go order, is objectionable. This, after we had walked in asking if they were still serving customers around 6 pm with a closing time of 6:30 - it's a mountain community after all. This, after taking 15 minutes or more to ring and re-ring their order. And he didn't think telling my wife who ordered and paid was the right thing to do. He walks to our table after my wife ordered and paid and tells me. Then he blames his employee when I objected - the lady who greeted us who he needed in the first place to correct his $108 mis-ring.
