I had been previously taking my 16 year old son to another barber shop when i decided to find another one because of the long wait I was experiencing with every visit (they didn't take appointments). I checked Yelp and found this barber shop which had really good reviews. We walked in and Rashad said he would take him next. He took his time and was very detailed. He was even given a short massage and i was able to venmo him my payment, which was very convenient. For our second visit, I text Rashad and he was available to accommodate my son not only that same day, but within a couple of hours. Again, he was very detail oriented and in the end, not only were we pleased with the cut, but my son said it was the best haircut he's ever had! So I got my hair cut very short a while ago for summer (at another salon out of the country). I had been looking for a place to update my cut for a few weeks and this place just seemed to standout on yelp. I was nervous because I am a women and I was afraid of them not giving me exactly what I wanted, but base cut my hair and he hooked me up! He made sure to ask exactly what I wanted, took his time to make sure everything was right, checked in with me every step of the way. He worked to give me a beautiful cut that looked great. I've been coming here with my family for 10 years, everything is usually perfect. But of course everyone has flaws. Got my hair cut today and it's terrible. Went too 3 barbers after and they said it's so bad they can't fix it. My buddy came in a couple weeks ago they gave him a bald spot. I asked random people in the coffee shop next door every person I asked could see what was wrong one side was higher then the other one side is faded the other is not. They tried to convince me that nothing was wrong. I'm absolutely livid at this place. I repeated what was wrong 4 times they insisted nothing was wrong. I'm not blind. Spent the entire time talking with attention on the tv screen instead of focusing on the haircut. Charged me 30 dollars even tho I know the price should've been 25. I still tipped, because I'm genuine. But to have the audacity to insist nothing is wrong is absolutely pathetic. He didn't even realize that my family knows him personally. 1 star review only on the account that I've referred friends and family to them only to receive a terrible effort on a hair cut 10 plus years coming here and today was the last day I'll step foot in the salon. As a mom finding a barber shop that I feel comfortable at is so tough! I have a young son and not knowing much about the barbering process can be a little intimidating. I found this spot on yelp and called first, the man I spoke with made me wanna give this place a shot! I'm so glad I went! Not only did I feel comfortable, I felt they did whatever possible to accommodate my young toddler son who clearly wasn't a fan of getting his haircut yet! Lol They showed so much patience and reassured me that everything was okay, in that moment I said to myself "I finally found our barbershop!". I love this place! It's a combination of your typical African-American barbershop with a touch of sophistication. Although there are many non-black patrons as well. The decor is very well done and the atmosphere friendly & relaxing. As a woman, I have no problem going there. All of the men are very respectful. The prices are reasonable and all of the barbers are highly skilled. My barber Rashad even has his cosmetology license so that he can offer a wide variety of services. I have driven past this barber shop a million times but never stopped in. I finally called because I desperately needed a full on shape up. I wear my hair natural in a teased , but tapered fro. I was reluctant initially to go because barber shops tend to want to cut women's hair too masculine. However, Chris reassured me over the phone and when I arrived that he knew exactly what I needed. He is extremely personable, professional, and won't cut your hair like a dude. Which is not a good look if you're a female. My mother and I walked out extremely satisfied. I love this place! DL is fantastic. His customer service abilities are out of this world. He really knows how to take care of people and he gives the best cut I have had in 30 years. I recommend this place--I know in doing so I am going to make my wait longer but it is well worth it. I come 15 miles just to get my hair done. I'd go 50 miles if I had to. Worst service ever. I'm new to the area and was looking for a good barber. I was recommended to this place. After calling the nightbefore to make an appointment for noon The next day, I arrive at noon and the shops closed. Mind you it was an hour bus ride just to get there. So finally someone shows up around 1230 and takes another client before me. So I wait. Finally he finished with that client and turns around and gets on the computer and starts laughing and joking with his friends that had comein. Finally after waiting for two hours I just leave with no cut and not so much as a hi, bye, or glance of acknowledgment by the staff. It was by far the rudest and most unprofessional experience I've had at a barber. No way I was gonna drop $40 ( including a $10 tip) there after being ignored. This place needs to get there act together. read more
