My niece got me a dinner to go and it was awesome! One of these days I will go inside to dine.

We were in town on business. It's late Sunday afternoon. After a day surveying land we were starving. Decided on Chinese. Best option was buffet. Hot & sour soup did not 'taste' like hot & sour soup, and neither was it heated properly-BTW-I have cooking & hotel management experience. Told the waiter soup was a flop-he shrugs his shoulders and walks away. Going down the buffet line-what I witnessed was not, at all, a quality food service. Over cooking makes some foods rubbery-and the wait staff behind the serving line would not answer any questions. Hmmmmm. Local health department needs to stick their noses in there & give it an old fashioned health inspection; making sure the chicken is really chicken, and not the neighborhood cat. I've been coming here for years and I have never found a better Chinese restaurant in all of New England. The service is 5+ stars and the food is the same. Friendly and delicious, don't pass up this opportunity. Come to Tangs where everyday is a Saturday. read more

Everything here tastes like it has 10 cups of sugar in it. If you put less sugar in your food it would taste better. Even the hot and sour soup tastes like sweet and sour sauce. read more

This place has become my favorite place to eat in the area. When I first started ate here when it opened I did not like it. The food did not taste like most other Chinese food I was used to. I found out Tangs does not use MSG and that makes a HUGE difference in my eating experience. When places use MSG it makes food taste sweeter to me, I love the fact Tangs does not use MSG. I have never left here feeling sick, I have never eaten more than I should, anytime I go to a place that does use MSG I can't seem to stop eating the food. The staff here is fantastic, every time I go to tangs I know exactly what I m going to get food wise, I know exactly what I am going to get service wise. In my opinion, this is one of the best Chinese places in Aroostook County. read more

Nice little spot for northern Maine. The service was very friendly and helpful, the combo comes with a good amount of food, the food was pretty good, nothing was bad. The inside was quaint and comfortable. They even have a sign letting you know they don't use msg! read more

90% Awesome! Would be 100% but sometimes it's a hit or miss with the buffet. When you go in, you have to hope you hit the buffet right so is fresh. But, I think that in this small town, if you keep that buffet fresh all the time, they'd go out of business because the overhead would be too much. read more

Though the outside of the restaurant doesn't look like much and wouldn't have been a place I would've tried without the previous reviews on Yelp, the service and food were quite good. Since I went in at around 2:30, I decided not to chance it with the buffet and ordered off the menu. The food was hot, fresh tasting, and thankfully lacking in the heavy MSG sauces so many Chinese restaurants use. This is absolutely the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. Their food is absolutely amazing, they have a full buffet that they regularly refill, their prices are very reasonable, and they don't use MSG. I've tried Chinese food from many places, but no place even comes close to Tang's. The restaurant decor is very nice on the inside and it isn't crowded at all. I needed a break from the brewpub where I ate the past two nights. The staff was super friendly and nice so I feel bad about this review but they are definitely not a 4.5 star restaurant. The buffet was empty when I came in around 7pm on the Thurs. The buffet food was probably sitting around a bit. Everything was pretty bad. Either super salty or super greasy. They were kind enough to get me some steamed rice. On buffets, I usually have multiple trips but I only had 1 go around with their buffet sampling most of their entree dishes, skipping any fried apps, and trying their salad bar. They oddly have fruity pebbles, shredded wheat and rice crispies in the salad bar. And their homemade croutons were horrible and soft. The only positives of the meal was the ice cream and tea. Meal was $10 but was quite possibly the worst Chinese meal I've ever had. read more

Excellent buffet no MSG in anything. Fresh and hot if that item was empty let them know and they were more than willing to make more quickly. We saw the cook harvesting fresh herbs from the backyard garden. Nice! Very unassuming building but excellent food! read more

I was very much disappointed in the Food served in this place. The Waitress stated we would be starting Dinner at 5pm and at this time nothing was on the floor to be served, she said they were running behind schedule. When they started the buffet it was cold and very greasy. There were only 5 chicken wings in the tray very little amount of food to be served to the customer if you call 3 people customers. We informed the waitress of the issue and only got excuses, very poor service from staff and watching kids running around with parts of vacuum cleaners did not impress me at all. Speaking to several people only got $4.00 took of our bill and no reason for this behaviour. My over all experience not good would not recommend this to anyone read more
