This is a true hidden gem. Their proprietary "stuffed pizza" is second to none. Their service is absolutely top notch as well. They are handling the pandemic situation with preparedness and thoughtfulness. When I came to pick up my 'za last night, they already had it in hand as I was pulling in. Oh man...it's been 4 years! I need to update. Not much has changed about how I feel. Tania's is awesome. We have been going there for 7 years now. Over this time, they have really expanded on their craft beer selection. They are my little sweet spot for allocated beers. You just never know what they're going to get. I love my craft beer community, so I'm happy to share that they are worth a stop. They might be $1-2 more than some stores. I'm okay with it. They are very fair with limits and making sure everyone gets a chance at the great beer they have. I haven't noticed any significant old beer hanging around, which is very common with a lot of stores in the Royal Oak area. The pizza....ugh. Hands down, my favorite. In the past 2 years, I have discovered that I am lactose intolerant, which really sucks! I put my comfort at risk with Tania's! That's how good it is! I can't resist that stuffed pizza! We stop in for slices often. You can't beat the deal! I'm grateful for Lactaid pills! ha! The staff and owners are awesome. This was the first time I had ordered from Tania's and due to the corona virus it was not a normal way to order or pick up and these folks nailed it. I placed a big order with a variety of salads, pizzas, cheesy bread and a sandwich! The service we received from the moment we pulled up until the order was placed in the back of our car was outstanding. The pizzas were all incredible and the salads so fresh and delicious. In a nondescript little Liquor Store in Royal Oak, behind the posters and across the aisle from a midget Captain Morgan, one can find employees diligently crafting some of Royal Oak's most unique, and flavorful pizzas. I opted for the Stuffed Royal Oaker which didn't disappoint (although it did disappear! And quickly!). The crust has moderate hint of garlic and butter and cradled the pepperoni and beef and cheese. Oh how I long for the worlds best stuffed pizza. I went to Kimball high school in the mid to late 90s and every day walking home from school we would stop in to Tania's, get a slice of stuffed pepperoni, a Faygo rock and Rye and play Mortal Kombat for what seemed like hours. It was so nice of the owners to put up with us kids lingering in their liquor store but I would literally not eat lunch and save my lunch money to get two slices and still have $1.50 left over for six rounds of Mortal Kombat. Thank you and your family for being so cool and letting a bunch of kids hang out. This is one of my most fond memories of my Kimball high school years. No joke, regardless of who's friends house we were at on a Friday night (1995-2005), either their parents or us kids would order stuffed pizza from here EVERY weekend. I love Tania's. The stuffed pizza is to die for! They sprinkle a bit of garlic salt seasoning on the bottom and I can't get enough! You are doing it right, Tania's! One thing I would note is to be careful if you order the GF pizza. The celiac in my family has reacted here. Tania's BBQ chicken pizza with red onion is the best but personally I can't get enough of their Calzones and they make them just the way I like it in fact I can't find another Calzone better than Tania's. The pizza itself is great, and they have been a favorite of ours for many years. So it saddens me to leave a negative review here, however, after getting my order wrong the last FOUR times I've called for delivery, I feel I must warn folks. Specifically, women. Since there is never an issue when my husband calls, I can only conclude that the people who work there are unaccustomed to listening to women. I have often heard them laughing and joking with each other while I was attempting to give my order. In the past I've called about the mistakes and management has made an effort to make it right but it's just not worth the trouble anymore. You order pizza when you don't want a hassle, right? In the world of pizza it's not always easy to have a pie that sticks out from the others. It seems Tania's Pizza has found a way to do this since 1987 & their doing it well I might add. We called ahead for a carryout & were told 45 minutes, I thought that was a little long for a carry out but who am I to judge. Upon arrival I couldn't help but notice how small the cooking area was & we were instantly greeted by the owner who was happy to hear how far away we came from to try the pizza. I couldn't help but notice people wrote in their reviews its a party store that sells pizza, but it looked like a small pizzeria that sold beverages to me. We ordered a large stuffed pepperoni pizza that was "A work of art"! Perfectly round pie glazed with butter & garlic salt that twinkled under our kitchen light. The pizza edges were carefully hand braided to seal in the sauce & to keep the cheese from oozing out. I'm guessing this is why the pizza may have take longer to make, and honestly I didn't mind. We also ordered the bread sticks, which were kinda boring and could use a little something. The anti pasta salad was loaded with mild pepper rings, a decent amount of sliced salami & mozzarella cheese. We were given an assortment of dressings ( Italian & ranch) & dipping sauces which we were informed by the proud owner that were all homemade. The pizza was a hit & is defiantly something your mouth will tell your brain to crave. I was tempted to give this place 3 stars but felt that may not be fair considering how good the pie was and how reasonably priced our dinner was (22 dollars for a large 1 item pizza, large anti pasta salad & bread sticks). The owner was very cool and you could tell he takes a great deal of pride in his business. I will be back for another pizza and will have to try some other items of the menu. read more

Having never been inside the store, it was described to me as a craft beer specialty market that sells this incredible pizza. ::CORRECTION:: This is a party store that with a moderate selection that sells very expensive, mostly plain pizza. Firstly, the business. I ordered a SMALL Greek pizza at $10.49 and a SMALL pepperoni only pizza for a less expensive, obviously forgettable price. I've literally had Red Baron frozen pizzas that were better. The dough they use is bread dough, not pizza dough.It kind of tasted like shit really. Not soft,greasy and perfect if you've just drank a 12-er of Bud Light platinum or whatever it is you people do these days Now I've heard about their stuffed pizza. The pizza I ordered was not of this nature. That is a separate issue. I read a review that said "this is the best pizza in Oakland county", that person is a liar. If you think party store pizza is the best around, you must not know how to taste stuff.This pizza, was more than likely the second worst, second most expensive pizza I've eaten. Right next door from Love and Buttercream, I stopped into Tania's to try out some slices given the love from the Yelp reviews. All they had ready was their stuffed pizza so I grabbed a slice for $1.90 and split. On the way home the smell compelled me to nibble and after that first bite I had to pull over to finish what I began. The stuffed pizza looks more like two slices doing the horizontal tango but looks were deceiving. All the good stuff is obviously in the middle...the sauce was tangy and balanced and the cheese melty good with the added bonus of the garlic salt on the top slice's crust that pushed the taste over the top that much more. I'm going to have to try a full size pie sometime but this was at least one slice of legit party store pizza. Take it for what it is kids. read more

The crust is very soft and flavored with some sort of special garlic seasoning. I don't know what it is, but it's great. They also have salads, subs, etc. etc. Who cares. I moved to royal oak a couple weeks ago from Macomb and was excited about the new food choices around me. I didn't think my favorite place would be a liquor store that sells pizza but I'm not mad about it. Makes Friday/Saturday nights convenient and it is some of the best pizza I've ever had. Tania's is my go-to for delivery... awesome stuffed pizza, great wings, pasta too. Do yourself a favor and try a Stuffed meatball, mushroom and jalapeno pie... you won't regret it. The crust is thin, seasoned with parmesan and garlic salt and loaded with fresh ingredients. Thin crust BBQ Chicken pizza is my second favorite but every pizza they have is tasty. You can choose from their signature pies or build your own. For around $5.99 you can order a ton of pasta with marinara or meat sauce and for like a buck more, they'll add meatballs. For the quality, taste and amount of food, Tania's is cheap... we always over-order but nothing beats leftover pizza and pasta so it never goes to waste! read more
