Wonderful meal! A friend took a retired (and very picky) chef here for lunch and he really enjoyed the pho. I've been anxious to try it ever since. We were greeted by the friendly owner (?) and he told us we could take a seat wherever we wanted. There were several people enjoying a late lunch on both sides of the restaurant. I noticed that most of the customers had ordered the pho. We decided to try: - Fresh spring rolls - delicious! Large shrimp, fresh ingredients. Tasty dip. - Garlic noodle plate - noodles were a nice thickness, bouncy and flavored well. Protein was the bbq pork as we were told that's a customer favorite. Veggies were hot and cooked perfectly. - Steak pho - broth was delightful, clean and fresh tasting, with thin slices of tender meat. Noodles were a nice consistency and not mushy. I loved it even more with the bean sprouts, jalapeno, basil and a touch of lime. Everything was timed perfectly, spring rolls came out first for us to enjoy. Server, who I think is the owner, checked on us and refilled my water without having to ask. He promptly cleans up tables after customers leave so the place always looks clean and neat. We decided to get Pho after finding our fav ramen place closed on Sundays. This Pho is def good & full of clean tasting flavor plus the shrimp was cleaned properly which is great! The star of this meal was the appetizers. Delicious spring rolls and veggie egg rolls that tasted freshly made with sauce that went perfectly with them. I had lunch with Emily at What The Pho, and we had a delightful lunch. This is Emily's fave pho place in Sonoma County. I have Thai tea. So good. I know it's not the right nationality, but I enjoy Thai Tea. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and a good portion-size. We started with the shrimp spring rolls. I love shrimp spring rolls. They're so simple but so yummy. And the peanut sauce, SENSATIONAL. I love peanut sauce too. Then came the pho, the star of the show. We had the steak pho. The meat was cooked perfectly. Normally, I don't love the thinly sliced meat in pho and ramen, but this one was cooked perfectly. They had so many sauces available. A major plus. Emily got two servings out of her pho. I've heard a lot about this place and was happy to finally check it out after a long walk with a friend. We started with the fresh spring rolls, which were absolutely delicious. I loved how thin and tender the wrap was--not tough at all--and it was generously filled with vegetables, complemented by a very satisfying peanut sauce. We also shared the tofu curry with vegetables, which was quite tasty. I added some of the house-made chili oil, and it really kicked the flavors up a notch. The ambiance is lovely, with gorgeous photos lining the walls, and the manager/owner is very personable and welcoming. We didn't try the pho this time, but since it's said to be the star of the restaurant, I'll definitely be back to try it. read more

We picked this place to try because we were preparing ourselves for giving birth at Sutter hospital and wanted to see how the food in the area was in case we needed it. The day we first stopped in here was around one of the hospitals childbirth or baby prep classes and we were so glad we did. The location is easy to get to, and has lots of accessible parking that it shares with the shopping mall. We were one of two tables filled when we arrived, and the person helping us was friendly and speedy. I ordered the vermicelli bowl and he ordered the steak and brisket pho, and our food was out super fast. At the time, I was extremely pregnant and never sure how much I could eat or how I'd do with smells, but this was so good, I ate the entire bowl. Hubs enjoyed his phone as well, so we were both very happy with our meals. Prices seemed really on point for the quality, the flavors were bold, and the food was made really well. The only downside to our visit was getting out of the parking lot. It is always so frustrating trying to turn left out of this entire lot! Showed up as a party of three with a toddler at 5pm on a Sunday. Plenty of seating available. Waiter was friendly and just the right level of attentive. The food was good, standard Viet fare. The broth was rich and one of the better ones I have had in Sonoma. I also ordered the crispy tofu vermicelli and would not recommend the tofu. It was good but lacking in flavor. Drove from Santa Rosa to try this place as a pho lover and half viet gal. We got the pork spring rolls, came with peanut sauce & nuoc mam dipping sauces. The pork was red roasted bbq, sweet and savory. For entrees, I got the beef pho with rare steak and brisket, my boyfriend got the garlic noodles with chicken. I was here again today, and have a few updates. For one, they have expanded the restaurant, and there are now many tables for dine-in, which is great. It's also quite clean which I also appreciate. Many pho places can be hole-in-the-wall-ish which is fine, but nowadays I prefer a cleaner restaurant. (Yeesh, I guess I'm getting old! [sweat face emoji]) The other thing I wanted to say is that the service here is now exceptional. I don't know if they changed hands, but the last few times I've been here, they have been really nice. I was here today and I ordered my typical special combo pho (as mentioned in my previous review, this is what I was taught by my Chinese parents - always get the one with the most 'stuff') Anyhow, there was another guy there, and let's just say he... wasn't Asian. And he had a bunch of questions and requests, and the waiter was sooo patient and nice. He genuinely wanted him to have a good experience and make the food good for him. Honestly, I'm a little blown away. And this is probably why I can't be a waiter. I'd get so annoyed, :P but nope, he was totally accommodating. This is also different from the service that was there before - the lady who would get annoyed at us that for eating in. :P Anyhow, the food is still the same - very good. The special combo pho is still awesome, especially the brisket is surprisingly tender, and so is the tendon. So I'm a regular at Pho Vietnam, but lately I've been looking for a better cleaner place. I never thought I would find generous portions and great prices followed by clean restaurant and wonderful customer service. I was pleasantly surprised!!! The pho was flavorful, delicious, tasty, and so well served. Lots of noodles and lots of meat!! The price was fantastic very fair. Just shared a bowl of combination vermicelli - $20. My wife and I had plenty of food. Presentation was spot on. The meat was melt in your mouth tender, and the grilled shrimps were cooked perfectly. They have a half dozen sauces to use if you wish. The restaurant is spotlessly clean. The owners - a sister and her older brother were so nice. We were welcomed when we walked in, and checked on by both of them many times as we ate. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed! read more

This is the most authentic pho I have had outside of Vietnam. No joke. The pho broth is so clear and flavorful. You know the broth is going to be something special when they list it on the menu as an item to order on its own. While we were having our lunch another couple ordered 4 large containers of broth to take home after eating 2 large bowls of pho. The fried tofu was really different and yummy. Food: very delicious!! I'm a Vietnamese and live in San Jose so I have low expectations for Vietnamese food in Santa Rosa but to my surprise, their food was so good. Everything we got was excellent: flavorful broth for pho (both versions), well marinated for grilled pork, yummy sauce, and the flavor for garlic noodles was great. Service: excellent customer service. You RARELY get this from a Vietnamese restaurant unless it's a fancy one. Usually, you can expect the food to be good at a Vietnamese restaurant but don't have high hope for service. Not with this restaurant, they are very nice, polite and professional. I saw the waiter help a different customer separate the left over pho, broth and noodle, into 2 separate containers so the noodles don't get overly soft. I wish he offered the same to my mom's and sister's leftover though. He gave us just a single container for both broth and noodles. I won't take away a star since their service was still very good. Ambiance: small restaurant, not ideal for a big group but it's not overly crowded and very clean. Highly recommend! read more
