Date night at Tanuki - River Landing was so much fun! We were seated on the outdoor patio overlooking the Miami River. We ordered a sushi roll to start, followed by the mango salmon and the Singapore noodles. The Mango Salmon was the BEST thing we ordered. Absolutely delicious and the mango added a nice sweet bite. The Roll was pretty good as well; the Singapore noodles made sure we were full! Definitely will be coming back again soon! read more

This place was delicious! All the food was good! The service was great! Our server Maria was extremely nice and took great care of us. I loved the pad see ew! It was different than any I've ever had. The beef was like pot roast, and the noodles were cut I to squares but the flavors were tasty. The fish was fresh and yummy. The view of the river with all the boats passing by was entertaining! Long overdue review I told the manager who was wonderful that I would write one all the way in July when I was visiting my mom in the hospital which is walking distance and convenient. Happy hour was spectacular and drinks were amazing and bartenders were great. I loved seeing an open kitchen shows they have nothing to hide. From the bar you can see the water and the place as an amazing view and a great atmosphere if I lived closer I would go once a week for happy hour. read more

We visited Tanuki Miami River for brunch one Sunday afternoon. The location is just lovely right on the river! We sat at an outdoor table which has a beautiful view of the water and you can watch all the boats going by. The outdoor area is also covered in case of yucky weather. For their brunch selection, they have bottomless beverage options for $30 and a tasting menu for $60 pp. You can also order à la carte off the regular menu, but for brunch I would recommend the brunch specific menu. You get small portions of five or six different appetizers, a choice of one of two sushi rolls, a choice of one of five or six entrees, and dessert. The appetizers are shared among the table, and then all the other courses are individual. If you're anything like me, everything is shared always, and we found that this was exactly the right amount of food to satiate both of us! It was definitely a deal as well if you were to order all of the same items à la carte. The service was very good. Our server was very attentive and always kept our bottomless beverage full! The dessert did take a little while to come out, but this was okay because it gave us a bit of time to digest, sip on our drinks, and enjoy the breathtaking view. There is also a Tanuki location in South Beach, but I prefer the Miami River location by a long shot. I would definitely return for brunch or otherwise and I highly recommend if you're in the mood for a boozy, Asian brunch with a view! read more

Came in to celebrate a birthday brunch and we had such a good time! To start the decor is absolutely gorgeous inside and outside. You're right on the Miami River so yacht watching is a must and we went on such a beautiful day so the outside terrace was the perfect spot. They even had a DJ, which made it fun. Service wise waiter was amazing. He was super attentive and gave good recommendations, overall just a nice guy. Now the food we tried so many things on the menu, and everything was pretty good. The brunch special is definitely a good deal; on top of a dessert and entrée, You get one of every appetizer listed in the brunch combo for 60 bucks! We also tried a few sushi rolls and some dim sum and we're very happy with everything we ordered! Cucumber salad appetizer was one of the showstoppers and a must if you come! What a beautiful place from the views outside to the wonderful art mural and decor in the inside. Was shopping at river landing and wandered downstairs for the view of the Miami river and saw the restaurant patio. Decided to come in looked at the menu and stayed. Ordered the violet geisha with my favorite lychee, was refreshing and delicious. Tried the duck bao and Brussels sprouts. Omggg goodness the dough of the boa bun was so soft and fresh it melted in your mouth. Anything truffle is amazing drizzle in the Brussels sprouts. I would have stayed longer but I have to go shop. Perfect place to stop and eat and drink from Shopping. I will be back. There is also a location in south beach, which I use to go to often. Oh this is a beautiful location by the Miami River and so close to my home Feel ashamed I did not visited sooner. My boyfriend surprised me for a valentines date here, we just walked form home and arrived just in time to enjoy the sunset at the Terrace. Reservations were made easy Lovely greeted by staff on the door, quickly seated on out romantic spot. I decided the Asian menu over sushi this time (because my BFF doesn't eat raw fish) I tried the Mongolian beef and he ordered sweet and sour chicken. Clean and stylish place. Great location and good indoor/outdoor space. Food is good and pretty fairly priced. But for reasons I cant understand they blast music loud through lunchtime. It's hard to hear my dining companions. Maybe at night the loud music creates "atmosphere," but a lot of people come here for working lunches, and the loud music makes that difficult. Otherwise a nice place. Decent service also. read more

I loved this Tanuki location. I went by after shopping at River Landing just in time for happy hour. The restaurant is very nice and it is on the Miami river so you have water views and its a great location for beautiful days in Miami. I sat at the bar and the bartender, Josh, was helpful and polite. I have always like the food at Tanuki, you cannot go wrong, but be sure to try the mushroom and potato dim sum, soo good. The manager also came around and was very pleasant. Lucky for me the staff was trying out new menu items and I got to try a crab salad that will be on the menu very soon! It was delicious! It was a creamy crab salad with avocado and pineapples. I will def be back soon! read more

Beautiful new spot located in RiverLanding. My coworker and I came here for lunch and enjoyed the water view from outdoor seating. Our waitress was very helpful with the menu. We glanced over the lunch menu, but ordered from main menu. We started with the Brussels sprouts! Sooo good.. the best I've had. Seasoning was perfect; semi-sweet with a vinaigrette flavor. I ordered the sweet and sour pork ; my favorite). The pork is real pork! My co worker ordered the veggie Lo Mein , which she described as sweet but not overpowering with a teriyaki flavor. We enjoyed our meals and plan to return at least once a month for lunch dates. read more

Had a lunch with 3 of us. Service was great. Food was terrible. Got a spicy salmon roll as an appetizer. The topping, some kind of fried thing is hard and tasteless. And spicy isn't spicy at all. My food, beef with green pepper was SO overly salty that it was almost inedible. Seriously thought of sending it back but we had time constraints. Ramen soup was not interesting. Noodle was okay. Oh, the menu says Tonkatsu in it. Tonkatsu is battered pork cutlet so menu is wrong. It was maybe pork belly? Singapore noodle was a standard Americanized sweetened bland flavor. Great food & amazing service! Stopped in for dinner with a friend after doing some shopping. The interior is so aesthetic and cute, I absolutely loved it! Definitely made it feel like a fancier spot but we were dressed very casual. We were one of the few tables there, I feel like more people need to find out about this spot because it was delicious! We ordered the tuna crispy rice to start, the tuna was yummy and the rice was cooked perfectly, super crispy! We ordered the Lo Mein with Chicken & Wild Mushroom Kamameshi (recommended by the waitress) to share, both were so different but super delicious! They were great dishes to share, we ended up finishing both because we loved them so much. The Lo Mein was super flavorful, had tons of chicken and veggies. If you're a fan of mushrooms you'll love the Mushroom Kamameshi, it's a rice dish full of different types of mushrooms. It was so flavorful! We will definitely be back to try more dishes! read more

I went twice in one day! Three times in one week. It's my new favorite happy hour spot and while dinner was lovely. It was odd that they changed up the menu in the same day. Had an epic time at Tanuki for brunch with the most amazing waterfront view! The place is not just clean, it's like Instagram decor level cool, both inside and outside. Every dish we tried was next-level good, not just okay. And, oh man, save some space for their mochi ice cream it's a game-changer. This is our family's second birthday celebration at this spot. Awesome! The service, the ambiance, and the food. My God My God! Our party was large so reserved for the outside. Make sure you bring your personal fans, we all know how hot it gets in Miami! The team their was very attentive to our groups needs. Bring your 'big pocketbook'. Not only did we eat we were in walking distance to all the shops that Riverlanding has to offer. If you opt for the $65 per person brunch...it's a lot of food and less convoluted when ordering. However the team allowed those of us who (for whatever reason) order from the regular menu. This is definitely a must do when visiting Miami. read more

The food portions were small and I got bitten by mosquitoes 11 times from sitting outside which caused my legs to swell up. The food itself was nothing special. The sticky ribs and bao buns were good but everything else forgettable. At least the service was attentive. read more

Such a beautiful little spot to spend an afternoon watching the boats go by the river while enjoying some fine sushi. Thief menu is delicious. I tried the yellow tail roll and meat seared roll. They also have a fantastic berry lemonade if you're opting for something non alcohol. I highly recommend stopping in. And the music was so chill. Perfect for the day! read more

I went here for a weeknight dinner with a few friends. The restaurant is stunning, there's no doubt about that. The plants, the bamboo, the rattan light fixtures...it's a beautiful, modern-boho place overlooking the water. The resistant was nearly empty when we arrived at 7, which gave me pause for a moment. Though, it was a Monday night, so I tried not to dwell on it. There was nobody at the hostess station so I stepped into the restaurant for a moment looking for someone to seat us, uncertain if perhaps there was a hostess station setup on the patio where most of the patrons were. The hostess eventually saw us and came over to seat us. She didn't say anything rude per se, but her tone while asking if we had a reservation and whether we'd like to sit inside or in the patio seemed like she was annoyed with something. It was not the best first impression walking in, but we didn't dwell on it. The service was good - it wasn't amazing, but certainly satisfactory. Our server was polite, knowledgeable about the menu, and did their best to keep our drinks full. Unfortunately, the food was hit or miss. We ordered the following: - Salmon & Hamachi Sashimi: the fish was good, but this was $30 for just four slices of fish. The price was kind of shocking. - Spicy Edamame: this was pretty good, but I'm almost certain it was just edamame tossed in a standard sweet chili sauce. Nothing special. - Fried Spring Roll: These were alright. Fried nicely, but not particularly flavorful or memorable. - Pork Belly Bao Buns: these looked super cute on the plate, but the meat was overcooked to the point it was dry and chewy. Also they were a little light on the toppings (some pickled veggies and cilantro) so it was lacking flavor. - Chicken & Truffle Siu Mai: these were ok. Again, not amazing. Lacking salt. Definitely not worth the $17 price for 5 pieces. - Mushroom & Potato Dumplings: these were not good. Very lacking in flavor/seasoning/aromatics and the texture was super mushy. Maybe they were steamed too long? As someone who often eats vegetarian meals, it was surprising to see a vegetarian dumpling the same price as the ones with meat, but I wouldn't have minded the $17 for 5 pieces if they'd actually been good. - Pad See Ew: this one was a major disappointment. Pad see ew is one of my favorite dishes and my friends had never tried it, so I insisted we order it. The noodles were undercooked and still chewy, the sauce tasted a little burnt, and the pork belly chunks in it were also dry and overcooked like the bao buns. - Mongolian Beef: this was ok. The sauce was good, and the rice was perfectly cooked, but the beef was again rather overcooked and dry/chewy. - Cocktails: we each ordered 2 drinks during our meal which were fine, but nothing special. - Dessert: we had the assorted mochi which were pretty good (I believe we had mango, mint chocolate, passion fruit, and guava). We also shared the lemongrass creme brûlée, which delicious, but there was absolutely no trace of lemongrass in that dish. It just tasted like any regular creme brûlée (better that than it not tasting good, but still). Desserts were $14/ea. TLDR: this restaurant is visually very beautiful and the location is nice, but I wouldn't go back. The service was fine, but food was hit or miss, and I felt the menu was very overpriced for the quality and taste of the food (with very small portions on sushi). Par for the course in a hot spot like the River Landing. read more

Came here for date and really enjoyed it. We sat outside nice to the river and just had the nicest view and vibe. It was our first time here so ordered a little bit of everything and let me just say I was impressed. The fish was so delicious and fresh! The only downside was the service as it was pretty empty and our waiter left us waiting for quite a bit in the beginning but overall pretty nice experience. read more

Miami might be about the beaches but it's tough to beat the view from Tanuki River Landing restaurant on the Miami River. You'll see anything from fancy party yachts to barges being pulled by tugboats as you dine on some truly delicious food. The tropical Asia ambiance is stunning. The happy hour menu (3 to 6 pm) is plentiful, so we made a dinner of it; we enjoyed the sticky ribs, the shishito peppers with a yuzu glaze (generous portion), the crab rangoon, the shrimp tempura roll, and especially the pork bao buns. We hear there is a new chef preparing a new menu but please keep the pork bao buns! Service was friendly and efficient. read more

My family and I absolutely loved our experience at Tanuki River Landing. We came here to celebrate my sister's birthday and it was such a great choice! They sat us outside and we could watch the yachts/boats pass by on the Miami River. There was a DJ at 7 and a fire dancer at some point in the evening. It made for a super cool vibe. Tanuki is a great spot for happy hour and one of our date night rotations. Special shout out to the lychee martini, French 75, and Asian mojito! If you don't drink, they have amazing mocktails too, the ginger mule is my fave. Their Mongolian beef is our go to along with the sticky ribs, pork bao buns, and wagyu tacos. The Brussels sprouts might be the best item on their menu. They have a new basque cheesecake on the dessert menu that is incredible and you can't go wrong with their lava cake! read more

My husband took me here for my birthday and I was blown away from beginning to end. This place is not only beautiful inside and outside but the service is top notch and the food and drinks were just incredible. Our waiter was so sweet and attentive. Made sure we were taken care of the whole time and recommended some great food items! We started with the pork bao buns and wow they were extremely fresh. My husband had the black dragon and I has the snow crab roll!! The snow crab roll literally melts in your mouth with the truffle butter.! Highly highly recommend. We also had the shrimp money bag and OMG!!! Delectable is an understatement lol. This place truly blew me away in every way! My husband made a note when he made a reservation that it was my birthday and not only did they not forget but the manager and staff all came out and sang happy with an amazing rice chocolate cake slice! you must try this place! Went for a friends birthday and sat outside! What a view !!! I almost forgot we were in Miami. It's right in the water and there's pretty affordable parking in the building with 2 hours free. We ordered what felt like one of everything the portions were perfect for sharing. It was a Saturday and we sat around the same time as the rush so it did take a bit. But the food comes out when ready and that was fine for us as we were catching up. They have a mocktail menu and the blackberry nojito was amazing. My friend got the pornstar off the cocktail menu and said it was so yummy. The sushi was so fresh and flavorful. We got the crème brûlée which was soooo good and the one star off is that the basque cheesecake was not authentic but more of a regular cheese cake with flamed brown sugar on top (still very yummy) next time we're gonna try the chocolate dessert but probably order it at the beginning of our dinner since it takes a little bit longer than everything else on the menu read more

Free parking for up to 2 hours in the parking garage always a plus in this area! Excellent water views of the river and beautiful sunset in the background! Nice views, ambiance, comfortable seating and great music helped make a great experience! Let's talk about the staff (awesome team), some of the best, friendly and attentive service in South Florida from the moment we entered! The hostess, manager and servers all make direct eye contact say hello and care that you're there! Our server Hector was friendly, knowledgeable and his fellow team worked great together to clear plates, bring water etc. The Mongolian beef was tender cooked to perfection with tremendous flavor, as was the sweet-and-sour chicken, which I loved, because it wasn't breaded it was also tender and had tremendous flavor! The only thing they could've done better was give a little bit larger portion, but this was definitely a case of quality over quantity. We will definitely be back! read more

I had a really good time at Tanuki River Landing. The place looks amazing, both inside and outside. It's super cozy and welcoming. The staff there are super nice. Our server, Maria C, was awesome. She kept checking on us to make sure we were happy, which was great. The food was delicious. We had trio fried rice, trio lo mein, and Mongolian beef. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Their drinks were great too. I tried the Riverview Mule and it was really tasty. The dessert was amazing. It was the perfect end to our meal. I'm definitely going back to Tanuki River Landing. The rooftop ambiance and music were definitely the highlights of the evening. The biggest challenge was the heat. On a 97-degree Miami summer evening, none of the rooftop ceiling fans were working, which made dinner quite uncomfortable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable fine dining experience. I was also surprised by the cake-cutting fee and that we weren't allowed to serve an individually portioned dessert we had brought for our celebration. I think policies like these are best communicated when reservations are made so guests can plan accordingly. For special occasions, a little flexibility or offering an alternative solution can go a long way in making guests feel valued. That said, I want to recognize the restaurant's manager for the way my concerns were handled after my visit. Their response was thoughtful, professional, and sincere, and they made a genuine effort to make things right. That level of customer service speaks to a business that values its guests and is committed to continuous improvement. While my first visit wasn't the experience I had hoped for, I truly appreciate the way management addressed my feedback. Their professionalism has given me a much more positive impression of the restaurant, and I would be open to giving it another opportunity in the future.

We took the steak and our cinnamon buns to go since we had been there long enough. The final kicker is they have an automatic 20% service charge in order to ensure the staff is paid enough. Seems like a business problem to me. Service was not up to that high of a standard. If you go during Miami Spice I hope they have figured out how to sequence the courses and get them to the table correctly while still hot.
