We visited Tanuki Miami River for brunch one Sunday afternoon. The location is just lovely right on the river! We sat at an outdoor table which has a beautiful view of the water and you can watch all the boats going by. The outdoor area is also covered in case of yucky weather. For their brunch selection, they have bottomless beverage options for $30 and a tasting menu for $60 pp. You can also order à la carte off the regular menu, but for brunch I would recommend the brunch specific menu. You get small portions of five or six different appetizers, a choice of one of two sushi rolls, a choice of one of five or six entrees, and dessert. The appetizers are shared among the table, and then all the other courses are individual. If you're anything like me, everything is shared always, and we found that this was exactly the right amount of food to satiate both of us! It was definitely a deal as well if you were to order all of the same items à la carte. The service was very good. Our server was very attentive and always kept our bottomless beverage full! The dessert did take a little while to come out, but this was okay because it gave us a bit of time to digest, sip on our drinks, and enjoy the breathtaking view. There is also a Tanuki location in South Beach, but I prefer the Miami River location by a long shot. I would definitely return for brunch or otherwise and I highly recommend if you're in the mood for a boozy, Asian brunch with a view! read more

Came in to celebrate a birthday brunch and we had such a good time! To start the decor is absolutely gorgeous inside and outside. You're right on the Miami River so yacht watching is a must and we went on such a beautiful day so the outside terrace was the perfect spot. They even had a DJ, which made it fun. Service wise waiter was amazing. He was super attentive and gave good recommendations, overall just a nice guy. Now the food we tried so many things on the menu, and everything was pretty good. The brunch special is definitely a good deal; on top of a dessert and entrée, You get one of every appetizer listed in the brunch combo for 60 bucks! What a beautiful place from the views outside to the wonderful art mural and decor in the inside. Was shopping at river landing and wandered downstairs for the view of the Miami river and saw the restaurant patio. Decided to come in looked at the menu and stayed. Ordered the violet geisha with my favorite lychee, was refreshing and delicious. Tried the duck bao and Brussels sprouts. Omggg goodness the dough of the boa bun was so soft and fresh it melted in your mouth. Anything truffle is amazing drizzle in the Brussels sprouts. I would have stayed longer but I have to go shop. My boyfriend surprised me for a valentines date here, we just walked form home and arrived just in time to enjoy the sunset at the Terrace. I loved this Tanuki location. I went by after shopping at River Landing just in time for happy hour. The restaurant is very nice and it is on the Miami river so you have water views and its a great location for beautiful days in Miami. I sat at the bar and the bartender, Josh, was helpful and polite. I have always like the food at Tanuki, you cannot go wrong, but be sure to try the mushroom and potato dim sum, soo good. The manager also came around and was very pleasant. Lucky for me the staff was trying out new menu items and I got to try a crab salad that will be on the menu very soon! It was delicious! Beautiful new spot located in RiverLanding. My coworker and I came here for lunch and enjoyed the water view from outdoor seating. Our waitress was very helpful with the menu. We glanced over the lunch menu, but ordered from main menu. We started with the Brussels sprouts! Sooo good.. the best I've had. Seasoning was perfect; semi-sweet with a vinaigrette flavor. I ordered the sweet and sour pork ; my favorite). The pork is real pork! My co worker ordered the veggie Lo Mein , which she described as sweet but not overpowering with a teriyaki flavor. I went here for a weeknight dinner with a few friends. The restaurant is stunning, there's no doubt about that. The plants, the bamboo, the rattan light fixtures...it's a beautiful, modern-boho place overlooking the water. The resistant was nearly empty when we arrived at 7, which gave me pause for a moment. Though, it was a Monday night, so I tried not to dwell on it. There was nobody at the hostess station so I stepped into the restaurant for a moment looking for someone to seat us, uncertain if perhaps there was a hostess station setup on the patio where most of the patrons were. The hostess eventually saw us and came over to seat us. She didn't say anything rude per se, but her tone while asking if we had a reservation and whether we'd like to sit inside or in the patio seemed like she was annoyed with something. It was not the best first impression walking in, but we didn't dwell on it. The service was good - it wasn't amazing, but certainly satisfactory. Our server was polite, knowledgeable about the menu, and did their best to keep our drinks full. Unfortunately, the food was hit or miss. We ordered the following: - Salmon & Hamachi Sashimi: the fish was good, but this was $30 for just four slices of fish. The price was kind of shocking. - Spicy Edamame: this was pretty good, but I'm almost certain it was just edamame tossed in a standard sweet chili sauce. Nothing special. - Fried Spring Roll: These were alright. Fried nicely, but not particularly flavorful or memorable. - Pork Belly Bao Buns: these looked super cute on the plate, but the meat was overcooked to the point it was dry and chewy. Also they were a little light on the toppings (some pickled veggies and cilantro) so it was lacking flavor. - Chicken & Truffle Siu Mai: these were ok. Again, not amazing. Lacking salt. Definitely not worth the $17 price for 5 pieces. - Mushroom & Potato Dumplings: these were not good. Very lacking in flavor/seasoning/aromatics and the texture was super mushy. Maybe they were steamed too long? As someone who often eats vegetarian meals, it was surprising to see a vegetarian dumpling the same price as the ones with meat, but I wouldn't have minded the $17 for 5 pieces if they'd actually been good. - Pad See Ew: this one was a major disappointment. Pad see ew is one of my favorite dishes and my friends had never tried it, so I insisted we order it. The noodles were undercooked and still chewy, the sauce tasted a little burnt, and the pork belly chunks in it were also dry and overcooked like the bao buns. - Mongolian Beef: this was ok. The sauce was good, and the rice was perfectly cooked, but the beef was again rather overcooked and dry/chewy. - Cocktails: we each ordered 2 drinks during our meal which were fine, but nothing special. - Dessert: we had the assorted mochi which were pretty good (I believe we had mango, mint chocolate, passion fruit, and guava). We also shared the lemongrass creme brûlée, which delicious, but there was absolutely no trace of lemongrass in that dish. It just tasted like any regular creme brûlée (better that than it not tasting good, but still). Desserts were $14/ea. TLDR: this restaurant is visually very beautiful and the location is nice, but I wouldn't go back. The service was fine, but food was hit or miss, and I felt the menu was very overpriced for the quality and taste of the food (with very small portions on sushi). Recently opened at River Landing and with spectacular views from the outside seating area. I've been to the Miami Beach location but this is a more beautiful space and great location. Stopped by for the $25 lunch and opted for the miso soup and Mongolian beef. Also shared an order of the delicious spicy edamame. Miso soup was a little bland but the Mongolian beef made up for it. This is one of the best Mongolian beef dishes I've ever tasted. My colleague opted for the Mango chicken and was humming the entire time so I take that as a good thing. Washed it all down with a really cold Sapporo and ended up the meal with a beautifully plated and delectable Crème Brûlée. María, the waitress, was the sweetest, most welcoming and warm, helpful and delightful person. I found out ladies drink free every Thursday at the bar area and there's a $10 all day sushi special on Mondays so run, don't walk. I'm coming back soon to try a few more dishes but especially to enjoy a nice drink outside contemplating the amazing views. read more

Definitely made it feel like a fancier spot but we were dressed very casual. We were one of the few tables there, I feel like more people need to find out about this spot because it was delicious! We ordered the tuna crispy rice to start, the tuna was yummy and the rice was cooked perfectly, super crispy! We ordered the Lo Mein with Chicken & Wild Mushroom Kamameshi (recommended by the waitress) to share, both were so different but super delicious! They were great dishes to share, we ended up finishing both because we loved them so much. The Lo Mein was super flavorful, had tons of chicken and veggies. You'll see anything from fancy party yachts to barges being pulled by tugboats as you dine on some truly delicious food. The tropical Asia ambiance is stunning. The happy hour menu (3 to 6 pm) is plentiful, so we made a dinner of it; we enjoyed the sticky ribs, the shishito peppers with a yuzu glaze (generous portion), the crab rangoon, the shrimp tempura roll, and especially the pork bao buns. Went for a friends birthday and sat outside! What a view !!! I almost forgot we were in Miami. It's right in the water and there's pretty affordable parking in the building with 2 hours free. We ordered what felt like one of everything the portions were perfect for sharing. It was a Saturday and we sat around the same time as the rush so it did take a bit. But the food comes out when ready and that was fine for us as we were catching up. They have a mocktail menu and the blackberry nojito was amazing. My friend got the pornstar off the cocktail menu and said it was so yummy. The sushi was so fresh and flavorful. We got the crème brûlée which was soooo good and the one star off is that the basque cheesecake was not authentic but more of a regular cheese cake with flamed brown sugar on top (still very yummy) next time we're gonna try the chocolate dessert but probably order it at the beginning of our dinner since it takes a little bit longer than everything else on the menu read more

Made a reservation for 20 people for a Christmas party (this coming December 2025) 3 months in advance. Manager confirmed. No deposit was asked for. Sent out my invites & got responses. Six weeks after Tanuki reservation was made, manager called and said we couldn't sit outside at one long table as they had a customer come in with an offer to "buy out" entire patio for the night. My group would be stuck inside seated at separate tables. Is this fair? NO! Totally unacceptable business practice. Tanuki management should be ashamed of how they have treated loyal customers. We canceled of course. Refuse to have my group treated like this. Have found a better place! read more

The very first time we came here we had a great experience maybe because it was grand opening weekend but this time it was a 0/10 experience. The front desk woman was super rude and advised that she gave our outside table away even though she couldn't check us in on time because she wasn't even at the desk when we got there; we waited 15 minutes just to be addressed by her. When we got seated inside which wasn't what we requested on our reservation, it took another 27 minutes just to get a menu and have a server come to the table.
