This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in our area. We normally order the fajitas for 2, perfect portions & has always been fresh. The service has always been wonderful. I did a take out for my grandsons. One got rice with grilled chicken- that was exceptionally good. The Food is really good, I mean REALLY GOOD. The restaurant is always clean and there's plenty of seating. The ambiance is nice with booths and tables and live plants which I think makes it feel nice in a restaurant. The decor is colorful and warm. My favorite meal right now is the Barria burrito and second is the garlic shrimp. I always have leftovers which I heat nicely in my air fryer. The only thing I have a problem with is the service could be hi or miss. It's gotten a little better but sometimes they don't check on you or you feel like you're bothering them because you need more chips, salsa or drink. I also like my service with a smile and not a scowl or rolling eyes . Being a small town with not many food choices ( that are actually good or safe to eat in, meaning upset stomach) especially nice dinner type restaurants without having to drive 35 minutes to the next big town Warner Robins Ga. After a long day hunting you need good margaritas - this is the place - good food and service

Party of 3 on a Wednesdaynight, and all our food was good. Outdoor seating looked nice, we sat inside and it was comfortable. Overall, the decor could use some improvements, but a football game was on TV and I appreciated that. I ordered something that indicated it was spicy, and it didn't disappoint. The margheritas were big, strong and tasty. The one thing lacking was service. Staff looked miserable and frantic. It just wasn't friendly and we had to constantly wave down the waitress to get stuff like napkins, extra salsa, the check, etc. Maybe they are understaffed? As one of three non-fast food restaurants in Fort Valley, this could go either way. This restaurant is actually pretty good and over the past few years, I've had the opportunity to work through the menu. I enjoy their cheese dip, it's buttery and a great consistency. Their burritos are good and I like their enchiladas a lot. The Mexican pizza isn't bad and their salsa is ok. I really like their steak quesadilla and their mocaljete was yummy. I've been dining here since my college years 10 years ago, and I love it even more now that I can drive only a few miles to have a craving satisfying dinner Their food is always tasty, fast, and consistent. We know our order, so we order immediately. We always start by adding a large cheese dip to our favorite (& the best) salsa & chips. My constant is the Special, always served to my taste without mushrooms & both chicken & shrimp. This platter of cheesy goodness never disappoints! SO...though this is a glowing review, it wouldn't be right to not give the entire truth & take what's really a quarter star away. Because the service .... is often lacking. It can be hard to get a refill of drink or chips once you are served. I think it's because they're understaffed some times, but that should never be the case on a Friday night!! I love visiting Tapatio. While in college, this was our favorite Mexican restaurant. Well last weeks special didn't disappoint. The Tapatio special was just as good as it was in 2001. Now they even have a liquor license. You can not beat a five dollar frozen drink. read more

Sharing this because there was a hair in our appetizer, but when trying to get a waitress they avoided us. But finally one approached asking how she could help. We told her and showed her the hair in the cheese. She politely apologized for the incident and took the cheese. Meanwhile, our main server returned telling us it wasn't a hair and that it was a cilantro stem in a rude manner. I will go ahead and add that the service could use a little touching up in a few areas. Here is what I think, Service: Doesn't need to argue in front of customers. Need to be more interactive with their tables, not sitting and talking to fellow employees at the hostess table. Keeping a good attitude when answering customers questions about dishes or even when busy. Becoming more organized at the check out with the tickets logged into the computer. Menu: Gave little detail about dishes (what all came with the side/plate, apparently a salad is some lettuce and one tomato slice). Food: Ordered Dinner Nachos with grilled chicken I enjoyed my dish, but some would take it as overly seasoned and overly cooked. Must add that the chips were stale, there wasn't enough cheese, but the cheese was room temperature and not warm. Appetizer wasn't too good. Chips were stale, plus our cheese had a hair in it. But can't complain about the salsa it was good. That seems to conclude my thoughts and experience for this mexican restaurant. Sometimes good Mexican hits the spot. Tapatio's was not excellent but I don't think it's trying to be. So on a day where I've driven across almost the entire state of Georgia, this place really hit the spot. We had a fajita burrito, the carne asada plate, an order of guacamole and a couple Negro modelos. The guacamole was the only thing that we did not like, too runny, not very hot and not as fresh as the rest of our food. Don't let this place fool you. It may not look the prettiest. And it's tucked away in the middle-of-nowhere Georgia. But holy guacamole is the food amazing. I love Mexican cuisine. And it's a shame that we live in Kentucky because we crave this place sooooo often. First of all, their salsa is amazing. It's not like the ketchup-y flavored store bought salsa's I've had at a lot of Mexican restaurants. This is real. And spicy. And very tasty. I usually get the Tapatio special. It's just a bed of rice on a hot skillet topped with vegetables, your choice of meat, and queso. Pretty darn simple, but very tasty. My other favorite is their carnitas with corn tortillas. The pork is perfect. I usually ask for a side of salsa verde with this dish. My husband has always gotten, and always will get the quesadilla dinner. He asks for diablo sauce because it's the hottest type they have. It's extremely delicious. Please eat here. Really. Came here for a late lunch on Sunday. The place was a little busy but there wasn't any wait. We were seated and it took a bit of time for our server to come greet us. From the get go our server, marlen, was very dismissive and impersonal. almost like she was too annoyed to work or be there. That set the tone for the whole meal. Anytime we would ask for something it was like we were inconveniencing her. She never gave us refills, never asked us how things were unless we flagged her down for stuff. We would ask for things like our appetizer or napkins and it would never come. We would say please and thank you and she would say nothing. Extremely rude server. Despite her poor service we tried to continue to be nice and sweet to her thinking maybe she was having a bad day. Towards the end if we asked for something she would walk away as we would talk. I know we all have bad days but I just think when you're in the service industry you have to be cognizant of your attitude and how you present to people. Went to peaches to beaches this weekend with my family. We were exhausted and looking for something we could all enjoy to chow down on. My step dad searched Mexican restaurants near by and found this one. We were skeptical at first because it looked like a shady neighborhood coming into it. The outside of the restaurant is decent . It looks clean and welcoming. The servers and hostess were very friendly. We were seated quickly. Our server introduced herself quickly and took our drinks and dips orders. She had no problem having us on separate tickets. The menu was easy to read and has vegetarian options. The prices are great ! The salsa is spicy. They offer their own (or a local) brand of coffee grounds to purchase. They have a variety of Mexican candy at the register , I always try new candy so that was a plus. The food was surprisingly amazing. I got the shrimp fajita nachos. Best fajita nachos I've ever had. My whole family loved their food. They make their own red sauce . It's not just some shit poured out of a can. It looks spicy but it's not. It's so good. Everything was delicious. Shrimp cooked to perfection. Queso creamy as idk what . I attached a few pics of our food that wasn't completely destroyed or eaten. Hands down the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I'm from Albany, GA. I've tried every Mexican place here. This is probably a good restaurant for a small town, but it's really nothing to write home about. We had the grilled steak burrito, enchilada dinner, and two kids meals. The steak burrito was just OK. Not a lot of meat, no sauce. Nice iceberg salad on the side and a spoonful of sour cream. Again, nothing special. Nothing to wow us. The enchilada dinner consisted of two enchiladas with shredded chicken and red bland sauce on top. Sides were bland beans and orange rice. No flavor. The two kids meals were appropriate for small kids. The kids burrito looked like the enchilada. The tortilla chips were below average, and the salsa had no heat. Sorry, this just didn't measure up to the excellent Mexican restaurants that we've had before. The price is good, but we would not return. read more
