It wouldn't hurt them to get some new chairs (the fabric is getting a little grody looking) and their prices seem a bit high for what you're getting. I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels neglected while entering this shop. I used to come here for the milk tea and thai tea. I see the owner a couple times a week but i never get greeted with a smile or a "hi". Maybe cuz he doesn't speak english but a smile is a universal greeting all around. The drinks used to be good but after awhile its started to taste watered down. Lacks flavor. I might as well make my own cup of simple syrup with ice added into it. First off, drinks are made with powder and syrups, no fresh fruits. Staff are ALWAYS RUDE. I'm not sure of her name, but she's tall and Asian with glasses...always has an attitude to not just the customers but the rest of the staff. To be honest: 1) Customer Service sucks, teen girls working there with mean mugging faces. No friendly vibe there. 2) ALWAYS out of popcorn chicken! ALWAYS... 3) One specific drink tastes different on different days, although it's the same drink that I order all the time. 4) They don't ever sincerely apologize to their customers whenever they mess up on their end or continuously out of things on their menu. If you're always out of one thing for more than 3 days, why not just take it off the menu, instead of having customers like me with high hopes that you'll have it, leave me to be really really really disappointed that you don't. This place is cute and small. It's located in a strip mall near a Thai restaurant and a coffee shop. There's plenty of parking so no worries on trying to batle other cars for spots. I usually order the thai tea with mixed small and large boba and my kids usually order the strawberry snow bubble but without the boba. The large sizes are huge and the boba is good. Service is awesome. They are friendly. If you want to just hang out and enjoy your beverage or snacks, you can. They have wifi too so you can surf on your computer while relaxing. I wish they had a tv still so you can enjoy whatever nonsense is on at the time. I love this place for its cleanliness, location, variety, atmosphere and friendliness. I am not a big fan of their selection of teas , but there are only few that I always order : Chai Milk Tea , and Taro Milk Tea. The problem I have with this place is not the menu , but one of their staff members who is horribly unfriendly . Every time I come in , one of the girls ask me repeatedly to show her my Rapid Responder badge so I can get the discount . I told her on few occasions if it's so difficult to remember my face , but she speechlessly just slammed my tea on the countertop and then walked away with disgruntled looking face . Every time I walked in she is mean to me and always questions my credibility on getting the discount even though I am qualified by being a rapid responder . Instead of her thanking me for contributing to the community as being on the frontlines against Covid 19 , she undermines my credibility and sometimes even refuses to give me a discount . She also works at T4 and does the same thing . Every time I show up in either places , she is questioning me about showing her my badge and on few occasions she falsely informed me that they stopped giving discounts to rapid responders . I asked her coworker who was standing behind her if that was true ,as I doubted in her because of my past experience with her , her coworker told me that they didn't stop giving discounts to rapid responders . I hope she gets educated and properly retrained on proper customer service handling , instead of treating certain customers like second class citizens. read more

The list of flavors on their menu were way too long, which I guess is a good thing, but I didn't feel like reading the entire menu so I just asked for avocado. The lady asked me what size and with tapioca or jelly. She was nice, no big deal. It wasn't busy at all for a Saturday afternoon. The place was clean, I didn't spend much time in there so if I wanna compare this spot to other boba joints, then this is A-OK. No fireworks here, but the drink was alright. Since this is your typical Tapioca Express its kind of hard to write a review. I do visit this location a few times a month (get a stamp card- after 10 stamps you'll get a free drink). This place is clean and stocked with board games and a tv to pass the time. Service is always quick and friendly. The menu is the same as any other TapEx- boba teas, snow bubbles and fried snacks. Drinks can be a little on the sweeter side sometimes- especially the hot milk tea (just ask for it half sweet). My boyfriend used to work at a Tap-Ex and finds sometimes this location does not have or make all the things they could. If you like boba this is the only place in Natomas and the surrounding area. After hanging out by the pool all day was in need of boba break. My cousins guy decided that Tapioca Express was much needed and close by. The menu is pretty good size just got boba with lots of flavors and different styles. The styles diverse from you normal boba tea, smoothies, teas, and more. I settle on mango smoothie with boba balls. I enjoy the smoothie it was refreshing after long day in the sun. More so love the depth of flavor really taste the mango with every sip. The boba balls were medium in size. Nice, moist, and gave you good amount. The prices were very reasonable but norm for boba. This is a chain so there really isn't anything particularly special about it. It is a good place to get boba or smoothy or a snack at a reasonable price. This location was in a strip mall with a lot of parking. There were a few tables but there shouldn't be any trouble finding a spot as most people got their drinks to go. Oh man. I'm pretty picky when it comes to bubble tea. I want a strong tea base, and I like a very chocolatey chocolate milk. When it comes to that, TapEx never disappoints. I do have one complaint though ... I don't normally want my drink on ice. It's cheating, I feel. I don't want a cup full of ice; I want a cup full of boba and milk tea! My fault I guess for not specifying, but I've been to other TapEx locations where the default isn't a drink on ice. Oh well. And as others have pointed out, sure, they could be friendlier. I go to this location regularly and they never seem to fail me with their popcorn chicken. I'm a huge fan of snow drinks and in my many years of boba drinking have realized that not all locations offer the snow option. This specific location is placed strategically close to the sleep train arena so you can grab a boba drink before going to watch the Sacramento Kings win. It's also a pretty chill spot to hang out with a few friends with individual leather seats that you sink into while drinking your boba. All the other Tapioca places I go to suck. Except Lollicup, but that's 30 minutes away from here. The drinks I get here are always cold and thick (just the way I like!). I love when the drink is cold enough to make the boba freeze, because everyone knows cold boba is better. My sister always orders the Strawberry Snowbubble and she noticed that they use the Strawberry Nesquik to make it.. whereas the people in the South don't would actually add some chunks of strawberry in the drink. Been here a couple of times now so it's enough for a review, the boba here is eh-whatever. Every time I order a taro snobubble, it's just ice slush and barely tasted any taro. So the next time I went, I ordered a taro milk tea and a thai tea and boy, were they bitter. And plus, they ran out of big tapioca balls so I got the small ones instead. I was recently introduced to boba and I am hooked! I live in Natomas and was hoping their was a good boba place in the area and was excited to come across Tapioca Express. This place is great! I ordered a cantaloupe snow with green apple jelly and it was super refreshing and delicious. The extensive menu has SO many different things to choose from (from the fruity snow bubbles to the milk tea with boba to the crispy chicken meal) and it will take me a while to get through it all but I am determined to try something new every time I go. It also was pretty busy for a Friday afternoon around 3ish and the employees were welcoming and friendly, unlike some of the reviews I had read stated. I really hope this place stays around for a while because as I mentioned before, I will be trying to get through the entire menu within the next year or so. Wish me luck!!!
