While staying on n Bolingbrook during a volleyball tournament, daughter wanted to eat Mexican. As someone who has found birria as my new favorite Mexican dish, the quesobirria was mentioned by n the Taqueria El Valle reviews. I ordered the quesobirria tacos and they were fantastic! The taco shells were perfectly fried. The birria was just the right amount of spicy and the queso has a the perfect amount. The dipping sauce was great. Highly recommend. I also love Mexican restaurants that offer multiple salsa at the table. The red salsa with the chips has just the right amount of heat. The spicier green sauce had avocado mixed in and was a 10 on a 10 by me. Service was quick and friendly. The vibe was good energy with a busy crowd of all ages. Coca Cola in bottles. And.....for those menudo lovers, El Valle makes menudo fresh and is served every day along with freshly made corn tortillas!! It is by far the best menudo in Illinois. I stop by there several times a month at lunch with my buddy for a bowl. The tacos are bursting with flavor, and the serving sizes are generous. The burritos are not overstuffed with bean and rice fillers. A perfect balance of flavors. Their menu is extensive so there is something for everyone. The owner, Jose, is the perfect and most hospitable host and when you leave, he says, "Thank you.....see you tomorrow". And often times, he DOES see me tomorrow. lol read more

Finding this place to eat was such a surprise! The food was amazing!!!! The inside is colorful and fun. Plenty of booth seating. Everyone was friendly. We had some amazing Mexican food after a long time. We got - chorizo quesadilla dinner - came with rice and beans. The quesadilla was huge, with plenty of leftovers. Everything tasted amazing! Enchiladas mineras - got the grilled chicken which was so tender, juicy and full of flavor. It also came with side of potatoes which were cooked in a red sauce. So good!! First time visiting this taqueria. Excellent food and service in a very casual atmosphere. I had the Quesabirria taco platter and a horchata for lunch. The tacos were excellent and the accompanying consommé was rich and flavorful. As is common with this style of taco, they are incredibly hot temperature when served, so you have to be careful not to burn your fingers or mouth. But, the risk is worth it for these delicious tacos. I'm looking forward to returning to try other items on the menu. read more

It was decent,it is filling because of the cheese,the broth tasted very strong like tomato sauce and lacked other flavors,but I'm happy that they have a keto offering for people to try. Okay - WOW! My best friend moved a few blocks from here and I thank the Heavens for that. I read some incredible reviews about Taqueria El Valle and we decided to give this a shot as our first Mexican joint (we always try to find a staple together!). This is HIT! Go no where else! I live in Plainfield and I'd drive out here just to visit. I've only been twice - one carry out and one in person. The first order was a chimichanga and it was the size of a football...not only huge but DELICIOUS. Guacamole also fantastic. The in-person experience was...different. I noticed a few things that thought were strange for the staff to be doing with customers present, and our server wasn't too pleasant. For this reason, docking a star even though the food is incredible. I ordered the enchiladas and while I have a fairly high spice tolerance, the red sauce was FIRE. Like, not necessarily good fire, but painful fire. My Hispanic friend could barely handle it, either. I know, I know, heat tolerance is different from person to person, but I was surprised at how much heat this packed with no warning. I still can't wait to come back and definitely will - hopefully the service improves! read more

The quesabirria tacos looked great, but I thought the flavor was bland. The meat was tender, but the consomme was not very flavorful, maybe it was watered down. We (wife, son, and I) were all quite impressed by the food here on Monday. Live within a mile (for 18 years), but never knew of this place until some co-workers spoke highly of it just recently. Wife was at home, feeling under the weather, so my son and I stopped here to get her some chicken soup (always something magical about Mexican chicken soup, and it worked; she's feeling much better today). Son and I both grabbed a taco (we already had dinner plans, but wanted to try something as long as we were there). VERY YUMMY. Came back again on Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday just to try more tacos (many varieties to choose from). Every one were excellent (though the wait is very long; I guess it's all made to order, not ahead of time like the fast food places, and the wait is worth it). It's like if I were eating at someone's house, someone's "abuelas" home. The food was very flavorful, the tortillas looked handmade. The salsa was balanced and flavorful. Unfortunately, I had to spend my time fending off flies while I waited for my meal. The service was okay, but can be better. In my personal opinion, This place has the potential to be more, to be better, even great.
