Very simple menu: taco or burrito, and choose your meat. Wife and I tried the buche, cabeza, carnitas, and asada. All the meats were a bit under-seasoned, and as other reviewers mentioned, the meats sit on a steamer and they don't re-grill it (for that nice char) before serving it. We all know that good meat is what makes or breaks a taco, and sadly these tacos were broken. There's also no condiment bar, so you can't try to compensate by dousing the tacos in extra sauce. And the onions, radishes, and cilantro they served looked like they were sitting out all day and kinda dried out. I wanted to love the place (it's pretty close to where we live), but I expect better from a nice hole-in-the-wall taco joint, ya know? But alas, it was a lackluster experience. Out of all of the taco shops near my house, this is my go to based on convenience and quality. The tacos are a little more expensive than I'd like them to be for their size, but they fill them up with a lot of meat. The tacos are also double wrapped with corn tortillas, which keeps them from falling apart under the weight of the meat. Last night I ordered an al pastor taco, a carne asada taco, and a chicken taco. In my opinion, the chicken was the most well seasoned out of the three, shortly followed my the carne asada. Al pastor is my favorite taco meat, but I was really disappointed with the flavor. It was less seasoned than I expected and very, very dry. There are a lot of taco places in the Fullerton and Anaheim area that have better al pastor if that's what you're here for. That being said, I could have just had a dry batch. I will definitely be back for the chicken and carne asada. Their rice is bomb too. I haven't ordered a burrito but I've watched them assembled and they are HUGE. Full of meat. 3 stars? First of all, Taqueria de Anda is one of the best taco places in the Fullerton/ Placentia area. They load the tacos with meat, which is amaaaaazing by the way. Everything is seasoned perfectly and it's still pretty cheap. I've been coming here since I moved to Fullerton about 4 years ago and it remains one of the best taco shops I've been to around here. I want a side of guac and it says on the menu it's 46 cents. when he rang it up it came as $2 and something?? when I questioned it the kid at the register pointed to the glass and said "look" and i didn't even bother. he pulled it out of the fridge and started bring it over to the register and i asked "that's $2?!" and he responded "so you want it or not" like what?? how are you going to say that to a customer? from someone who works in food service, you never talk to a customer like that. the food isn't even that good i just needed something quick to grab, i will most definitely NOT be coming back here. i can see why this place only has three stars read more

On our way back home our son wanted some tacos so my husband was driving around placentia looking for a good taco place. We decided to give this place a try and we were glad we picked this place. I have been getting tacos and burritos from here for 19 years and never ONCE was I charged for extra hot sauce until today. The cashier gave me 3 containers of hot sauce and I asked for 3 more (my family really likes it spicy) and he decided, nope it can't be free. There is no "hot sauce" menu button to charge on the register and so he decided to use the drink refill button (.79 cents). So there was a .79 charge for extra hot sauce and since I used my credit card, they added additional .55 (this will not show on the receipt but definitely was charged 20.21 (19.66 plus .55). I asked why there is a "refill" charge and he said that only 3 containers of hot sauce were included and extra was the refill charge for .79. REALLY?? Like I mentioned, this was the FIRST time being charged. This is not good for repeat business. I am going to look for another taco place and I am not going back here. We even nicknamed it TDA for the gringos who just couldn't muster a proper pronunciation. Simply put... I love this place! TDA offers prime comfort food: no frills tacos and burritos that taste fantastic. First, you need to decide if you're going taco, burrito, and if you're the ambitious type, some combination of both. Second, you have your choice of meats: Carne asada, chicken, alpastor (bbq pork), carnitas (pork), lengua (tongue), or cabeza (head). In the context of food, I'm not into tongue or head. My "go-to's" are the carne asada and chicken (tacos if I'm feeling dainty or a burrito if I want to fill up) and doused with the green salsa verde. I also layer on the onions. So good! Ohhhh, Taqueria de Anda. How your greasy, delicious tacos fill my belly and soothe my raging hangovers! It also helps that this place is open super late (their website says they're open 24/7, but I'm not sure). I wish I had known about this gem when I was still a Downtown Fullerton rat and was stumbling out of bars after last call at 2am. Don't be put off by the sketchy plaza and the run-down look of this place. I've brought many a friend here, and no one has ever had a bad thing to say about it, other than the fact that maybe you might have to wipe down your own table before sitting. This is definitely a no frills, hole in the wall joint, but the food is authentic, cheap, and oh-so-fast. One worker is stationed at the meat/burrito/taco-making station, and another is usually working the register. You'll be amazed how quickly they'll throw together a handful of street tacos or a burrito. It borders on magical. I'm a huge fan of their al pastor tacos, because I feel like they have the most flavor. All of them are pretty tasty, though (carne asada, carnitas, and pollo). For you adventurous eaters, they have lengua (tongue) and cabeza (head meat) tacos. I've only tried the lengua, but probably couldn't be coaxed to do so a second time. Not that it tasted bad, necessarily, but the consistency of the meat made my brain scream, "ABORT MISSION!" I'd definitely recommend giving Taqueria de Anda a chance. I was feeling ethnic yesterday and decided on hitting this local Mexican shopping center in my city. I knew there were couple eateries here for lunch but didn't know that it was a chain until I got my order with bag labeled with lots of other locations in Orange County. Dare I venture East of the 57 to quench my innermost taco desires, or should I stick to the safety of the West side and just go to Chipotle? I decide to take the route of adventure and find myself at Taqueria de Anda. I only kid about the neighborhood, but it still amazes me how you can just cross one street and the neighborhood looks totally different. If you live near CSUF, then you must cross over the freeway in order to get decent Mexican food. It is what I call the Line of Authenticity. As you get closer to this line, the Mexican food becomes more...well...Mexican! The tacos here are simple - meat, cilantro, onions, salsa (red or green). Your basic taco need no more than this. The flavor of the meat itself should thus come through only accentuated by the salsa. They use the smaller tortillas, but pack it with meat. The carne asada is chopped to a fine consistency. Al pastor is tender and flavorful marked by the characteristic smoky sweetness. Carnitas are tender and go well with the salsa verde. They do not have a salsa bar like some of the other taquerias, but are more than happy to oblige your request for some extra on the side. The facilities are well lit and clean and have the trademark Anda set-up. Stainless steel crowd control bars as you line up to the counter. Sadly they do not have those smoky grilled peppers as can be found at the Fullerton location. I think that they have sliced fresh jalapenos that you can request. read more

This place definitely isn't what it once was. The workers there are just not happy they are definitely not friendly at all. Think of this as the popeyes of Mexican food. The food is okay, sometimes it's good and sometimes you're just eating all beans and rice with little meat. Or the meat is stale. Especially with COVID happening, I don't think as many people are going so the food is sitting out and isn't as fresh as it could be. They also raised their prices due to COVID so a regular pastor burrito is $9. Too high for this quality of food. They are also stingy with the sauces, think of McDonalds when they started charging for ranch.. Except the cashier looks like he's going to beat your a$$ if you ask for another one. Idk I wish they had the same quality and respect to their customers they once had years ago. I am willing to try again sometime in the long future. I'm not sure if it's that dirty Mexican feel or what, but this place is GOOD. The neighborhood might seem a little sketchy at night so don't come alone, but I haven't seen any hoodlums around or anything. This is a great restaurant to come to if you're low on cash and you need food whether it's good, bad or indifferent. I've only been here once, but I don't think I'll come back if I have the option to go somewhere else. The prices are very good and he portions are plenty. I definitely left full. I tried the carne asada and the carnitas tacos and they did not skimp on the meat whatsoever. However, there was hardly any flavor to either of the meats that I had and they were also dry and tough to chew. The others in my group who tried different things said that their's was lacking flavor as well. The tortillas were also dry and under cooked, or at least seemed as though they weren't very fresh. Came here to eat with some friends. Don't think I will be coming back. The menu. Similar prices and options compared to other taquerias. Personally, their menu gave me a headache. It's a bright red and green combination with white and yellow font. The service. I ordered a asada burrito. The guy making my order started making a quesadilla instead. My friend pointed out the worker's mistake and I repeated my order. This obviously upset him because his attitude and body language completely changed. He sounded annoyed when he was asking me about the rest of my order, gave my friends attitude and I caught him multiple times giving me a dirty look. The food. The meat was really dry in my opinion. Nothing fancy. The menu isn't the size of a biblical scroll. A million dollar marketing campaign hasn't fluffed up the interior of the restaurant to look like a goofy cornucopia of neon colors and wonky font. Taqueria De Anda is no nonsense. The guys behind the counter chop, flip, grill your ingredients with the sturdy brow of an aiming marksman. The cordiality and feigned smiles of a typically hardwired cashier or chef isn't here - and yet there is something endearing, welcome, and maddeningly authentic about that. The guys that work here are making food that sizzles, pops, fills your slobbering mouth with warmth and sincerity. I don't need the mechanical amiability of a Stepford Wife for someone to make me good food. And damn is it good. Only a few choice ingredients are folded into the tortillas. None of that prefab, coagulated sour cream or that Slimer colored American guacamole. Rice, choice of protein, a couple of wedges of lime and we're off. Great, simple food that doesn't overly complicate itself. If only more things in life were like this. read more

Definitely a fan of this place! Burritos or tacos, that's pretty much your menu. When you just want to stuff your face in meat due to their all meat burritos, this joint rocks. I definitely come here at least once a month during lunch (lot of options in the area). I get the all-meat carne asada burrito and it is amazing. I love the crispy pieces of beef. Because it is all meat, it can be kind of dry so I typically add more salsa to it. Ok just got back from there for lunch and let me tell you what's really up with that place. First of all I am Mexican and I can't believe what just happened while eating there. My buddy was buying me lunch and asked if they accepted credit there, I asked the person in spanish if they accept credit and he said it would be a $.50 charge and a $1 tip... Right away I got angry and told him " You don't ever ask me for a tip, I decide if I give you a tip or not" The look in his face was priceless... I am guessing he wasn't expecting that. At this point I almost wanted to leave but I felt bad for my buddy who is on crutches, so we just sucked it up and ate there. While I was sitting there I was almost wanting these people to talk about me so I can flip out on them but it never happened. Now down to the food. I got 4 tacos, two asada and two pastor. The asada was dry but their salsa was ok. The pastor was horrible, it was dry and tasted like nothing. The only good thing there was their Pepsi. I walked in for Taco Tuesday, tried to order a few tacos. I was speaking English, but they seemed to ignore that and kept prattling at me in Spanish. Got frustrated and had to have my friend talk to them. (He looks whiter than me and they seemed willing to speak English with him ????) They proceeded to ignore our order and put everything on despite us asking for no salsa. We were so hungry that we didn't care and just ate them. The tacos, luckily, were delicious! The customer service was HORRIBlLE and the restaurant is kinda grungy, but the tacos were tasty. In the end, the bad service was enough to probably keep me away for life.
