Nice little place with about three booths. I've passed by many times then decided to meet some people there to have lunch since it was generally in the middle for travel time. Not a busy place and is a "hole in the wall." It had the typical Mexican fare and not too exciting. My wife had the two enchilada plate and I ordered a torta. My wife said the enchiladas were good and my 2 year old son tore through what we gave him. Good flavor not too spicy. I had a torta called a Cubana, upon recommendation. This won me to this place. Pounded pork which was lightly breaded. Grilled ham, with green peppers, onions and avocados all in warm soft bread. Definitely must try. Four stars for me. read more

When you say "hole in the wall" restaurant...this is it!!! I have driven past this place a million times and it is always busy. They say that's a good sign for a restaurant you are considering on trying. The staff was friendly. Thick, salsa holding chips were fresh made. The food was also fresh and full of flavor. I had a shrimp super burrito and my wife has the large nachos. The burrito was big and full of tasty shrimp. The nachos were also big and covered in toppings. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great tasting, authentic, Mexican food. The only down side is not having a lot of seating so you might want to take it to go. read more

This place does not disappoint. Ordered food for a small group and there was plenty of it. The chicken quesadillas were loaded and delicious. Also had carnitas tacos with all the fixings; limes, jalapeños, radishes galore, pico de gallo and spicy fresh salsa. As if that weren't enough the carne asada and carnitas burritos were so full you only needed half of it to satisfy your hunger for some authentic Mexican goodness. Lastly the rice was really flavorful and tender and fluffy like I like it. The beans were creamy and just the right amount of cheese to top it off. The food is good and the prices are decent-though you could find better in brentwood...but hey if I don't want to drive then it's worth it. Here's the thing though this restaurant has no bathroom for customers and that ruins it for me. That's right if you want to wash you hands before you eat well Tough Luck. The very idea that a restaurant would serve food in a place where guests can't wash there hands is just disgusting and really it invites people to get sick after eating here, even if the contamination doesn't come from the food! So if your doing take out it's not bad but I will never dine in here again since I really don't like to vomit or have the runs. read more

Taqueria Diaz is the most authentic Mexican food in town, the chorizo burrito is one of the best I've ever eaten. They are a small place but have great food, my father orders about ten burritos at a time for our staff. We call and they are ready at 7 am in the morning. Omg!! I've died and gone to quesadilla heaven!! I found this place after my GPS dropped me in the middle of nowhere and I needed gas. I was hungry and thought I would pop in since it is attached to the gas station. I thought I was ordering something I could drive and eat by ordering a quesadilla.... think again. I ordered the large steak because I was hungry. I opened the box and was surprised at, one, how big it was and two, how incredible it tasted! I ate off of the best tasting quesadilla since I moved to Cali for two days! It was so stuffed that it needed to be eaten with a fork. I hope this wasn't a fluke, because I plan on driving back to this place just to get another! The food was great and the customer service is great.. There is just one thing... please use the bathroom before you leave home because they don't really have one. read more

Came here at 6:50 pm on Saturday, there were 2 girls were at the register, I was in here and a woman was treated very bad by the girls at the register they very rude if you don't speak Spanish you get at, an attitude, she asked about an advertisement in the way window, and the girl replied like if the woman was dumb, on top of that the woman was shorted change! The girls didn't even acknowledge there mistake or maybe it was on purpose! Count the change you get back!!! I have to admit I'm something of a burrito fanatic and I've been known to systematically plow through every taqueria from Oakland, Berkeley & Richmond to Oakley, Brentwood & Antioch. Currently my go-to spot is in Byron: Taqueria Diaz. There are three booths if you prefer eating there, but I generally do take out. Very nice people, prompt and friendly service, no matter if I order a single burrito or a full spread for the whole family. Now, the food -- it's really great. Their meats are outstanding. I generally have the adovado (aka al pastor) marinated pork, carne Asada or chorizo. Not enough places out here do a chorizo burrito (not a breakfast burrito with eggs, although they have that too). The beans and rice are flavorful and the Super comes with crema and guacamole. The chicken quesadilla is a favorite with everyone as well. Very tasty horchata! I haven't tried the wet burrito or Aguas frescas yet, but I will. I come here every week or so on my way to or from Tracy. Try it! read more

This is the most random little Mexican place. It's very small, only about three tables. Sometimes when it gets busy there's nowhere to sit, or the tables are dirty and no one will clear them. The cashiers also tend to be unfriendly. All of that aside, they serve great authentic Mexican food. The breakfast burritos here are amazing. I always get the bacon one. First things first, I am 100% Mexican & my dad makes THEE BEST carne asada hands down. HOWEVER, I just had thee 2nd most DELICIOUS carne asada tacos I've ever tasted in my 28 years of life. The salsa, tortilla chips, horchata, and carne asada tacos are a MUST! 3 tacos for less than $5. They were so good I tipped them a $20 bill just because they were worth it. I only get take-out now so the issues in my previous review have not been relevant. Pros: great food, speedy take-out service, takes orders by phone for quick pick-ups and staff is very nice. Teeny tiny little hole in the wall along the Byron hwy with some seriously legit Mexican food. I eat A LOT of Mexican and this was some of the best I've had in our area.
