It's not that good. Nothing special it's like any other Mexican place the same old boring food. Service could be better.

Stopped into Contento after an event next door because it appeared tables were open and last year…read morewhen we walked by it was beyond packed so we were hopeful for a table this time. Found out tables were only available via reservation which I thought was a bit odd for a Mexican restaurant but we were offered a seat at the bar so we jumped on that. Inside the decor was festive with a number of Frida pictures and great wallpaper in the restroom. We ordered guacamole and tacos. The guacamole came out quickly and was tasty, with a slightly sweet twist due to the pomegranate seeds and chips just as I like them. I ordered the milwalke and manolos bam bam tacos. I preferred the bam bam because it was filled a bit more but I didn't love the mayo based sauce on either. I would've preferred that on the side or, even better, an offering of salsa instead. I would've loved to review their salsa but only heard about it as I was finished up and it was offered to the couple sitting next to us at the bar. I was excited to try here but there were a few misses during our visit so we'll head to other local restaurants when we're in the area for a more satisfying meal next time.

I wanted to like this more but a number of things prohibit me from giving it 5 stars…read more The day we went in, the only available seats were at the bar. I was thinking this was a good sign. Busy restaurant, great things are in store. We were greeted by friendly bartenders but after dropping off water, took them a long time to come back around to take our order. When they did came back, it was to ask us to accommodate another couple at the bar by sliding over, rather than take our order. Eventually we ordered, guac of course and a few tacos each. The guac came out super quick, which was a good thing because the tacos took forever, like 30 minutes or more. Which for tacos, should never take that long. We also had to ask for napkins and utensils at this time. The food showed up, quesa-birria and the brisket. The brisket taco was excellent. If I come back, I'll order those. The birria was soggy and lacked the crispiness expected from something called birria. Even tho there was consomme called out in the description, non was provided. What made it worse is when the food was delivered to a couple near by, they were offered salsa and all the things. Felt like we missed out on things. It should have been better. Not sure I'll give it another try.

Love this place, never go more than 2 weeks before we circle back and order again. It's fantastic!…read more The food is delicious. Period. They have the best Tripe tacos I've ever had. Followed by the Lengua tacos. WOW. Of course you have to try the Quesabirria Tacos w/consume. Dynamite! My wife always gets the chicken enchilada in salsa roja, my daughter a quesadilla (she boring). Jalisco has the BEST sides of rice and beans I've ever had in a Mexican establishment, great flavors and respect for the ingredients and cooking process so everything shines through. They have Elote too, not quite the traditional way but damn I can't stop eating it! I've tried almost the whole menu; the lomo en salsa de arbol, carne asada, chile rellenos, bistec à la mexicana, gorditas w/carnitas & chorizo. I could eat here everyday! It's a cute little place with great service. Recently I caught some World Cup action while we waited. Different beers and sodas (Modelo, Jarritos) are available, as well as fresh guacamole and pico de gallo. They make a spicy taco salsa that's the right amount of heat and flavor. Give the a try, you won't regret it! Never errored an order of mine either, very consistent - and affordable! Like wow!

Truly an exceptional establishment. Taco Jalisco has quickly become a local favorite of mine, and I…read morehave happily shared this spot with my family and friends. Firstly, the service is amazing. All the staff are so friendly and polite. You are free to sit wherever you would like upon arriving, and a waiter follows you shortly to your table to drop off chips and salsa and inquire about drinks. Soon after that, you are asked what you would like for your main course, a question which I have never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes to be fulfilled. They are so so efficient here with zero sacrifice to the quality of their dishes. The guacamole is so creamy and delicious, and the steak and chicken tacos are personal favorites of mine. Everything is seasoned excellently. The inside is homey and quaint, and has cozy seating which is never too crowded. It is a comfortable space. If you have not yet tried Taco Jalisco, you truly are missing out!!

I have been going to Senor Tomas for 20+ years. The food is…read morefabulous, and the waitstaff is always friendly and attentive. There are many dining options in the area, and I have recommended Senor Tomas to many friends over the years. Last night I had an unpleasant experience. I am a (somewhat) senior citizen at 67, and my GF recommended a few alternate places, but it was such a beautiful evening that I recommended that we go to ST and dine on the patio. We walked onto the patio and stood waiting to be seated. My GF has a problem with her foot, and standing and walking can be painful. I asked the waitress/hostess if we could please be seated. She said that someone would seat us. There were 12 or 14 tables and only 2 had people seated at them. We stood there waiting for maybe 5 or 10 minutes, and I finally decided to just seat ourselves (even if temporarily) at a small table with 2 chairs. After a few minutes, the Manager abruptly charged out of the restaurant door to our table with a very angry look on his face. He did not greet us, but instead said "Do NOT seat yourselves, if you do, you run the risk not being noticed or served at all". I corrected him and told him politely in a calm voice that we HAD asked to be seated, but were not, so we sat down. He did not apologize, but left if a huff. I guess the customer is NOT always right. I noticed that the Manager thanked other tables as they left, but he ignored us (fine) We completed our (great) meal, drinks and desert. The bill was over $100, and we tipped generously. Maybe the Manager was having a bad day, but he should not take it out on his customers. I am not sure if we will return to what was one of our favorite local restaurants.

When we finally got our beverages, the server forgot the straws so we waited several more minutes for that. When our food arrived, we still had not received the appetizer we ordered. When I asked about it, I got a blank stare. Finally received the appetizer well into our meal. I asked for extra napkins. Was finally given one along with an extra set of silverware with a napkin around it and the server mumbled something about that being all they had. Watch out when you get your bill They show a cash price and a credit card price. Then they show suggested tip amounts of 20%, 25% and 30% and it's based on the credit card total, not cash total which is pretty shady if you ask me as it indicates not only do they want to charge you an extra percentage to use your card but they want you to top on that extra percentage too. Definitely will not be returning. We were so looking forward to trying a new place and ended up being very disappointed.
