We tried Cabo plate, Chicken Chimichanga, and Beef Burrito from their lunch menu. All were served hot and fresh, and tested very good. Their Chips and Salsa were also good with the chips being a little thicker than other restaurants. Service was prompt and professional. They kept our glasses of soda full and bonus points for having Diet Mountain Dew. The ambiance is nice, clean, with the tables spread out. They also have some high top table that will seat 4. Came here for lunch with a friend who really raves about this place. Food: The menu is very extensive. It includes many standard Mexican dishes along with several house specialties. You get free chips and salsa to start. The chips were good. The salsa had decent flavor but was very thin. You had to scoop it up quickly before it ran off the chip and onto the table or into your lap. I ordered an appetizer of guacamole. Unfortunately, it was basically a bowl of smashed avocado, and that's exactly how it tasted. Very little seasoning and not much flavor. In hindsight, I should have ordered the Guacamole Mexicano, which includes the ingredients that I consider essential for guacamole. For my entree, I ordered a combo plate with a tamale and a chile relleno. It came out very quickly. The presentation was not great. It looked like the items were placed on the plate and then smothered with sauce and cheese. The flavors were underwhelming. The masa on the tamale was not very moist and crumbled when cut. The beef filling itself was tasty, but there wasn't much of it. My friend ordered the Burrito Acapulco and really enjoyed it. Service: Service was good, but not especially attentive. Our server got tied up somewhere, and we ended up asking another server to take our order for the guacamole. Atmosphere: The restaurant is large and has plenty of seating for different size groups. The space is colorful, with bright green painted walls. There is a bar along the back wall, with a couple of TVs suspended from the ceiling. The overall design is fairly typical of many Mexican restaurants. There were only a few other tables occupied, so it was relatively quiet. I'm not sure if I would come back. Stoped in today for lunch. Great spot. Warm and attentive staff. Margaritas were perfect and make no mistake, the medium was actually quite large. It was, well, perfect. Loved the salsa/chips brought to the table. Nothing incredibly different about the chips, but the salsa...wow, that is delicious. Balanced flavor with just a little heat on the back end. My guy had the Queso Birria Tacos and really liked them. I'm not joking when I say, he cleaned his plate. I went ala carte and tried the following: steak taco, chicken taco, chicken enchilada. I really liked the steak taco and the chicken taco was one of the better that I've had. The enchilada made me a little sad. It had good flavor but was really dry. It could have been an off day for it or maybe it's just a personal preference kind of thing. We both loved the rice and beans. Sounds funny to get excited about rice and beans but we do and these were killer. They have a large seafood offering and a friend shared that they have some awesome shrimp & scallop dishes so we'll be trying that when we make it back. read more

Huge menu and large margaritas greeted us at El Jimador. I chose the shredded beef chimichanga. It was served covered in cheese sauce with beans and rice on the side. It was two smaller chimis instead on one gigantic one, which I liked better. It also came with a nice side of lettuce,tomato, and sour cream. Everything was super hot (in temp) and flavorful. Visited this restaurant several times before and continue to try different dishes and I'm always more than satisfied with the food and service. Started with one of the specialty margaritas, the jumbo size will certainly last through your meal. Tried the fish tacos and they were very tasty, the spicy sauce was a nice touch. Large menu with large portions. I would advise if you don't like something that is standard ask that they remove it or swap it (beans, sour cream, etc) because you get plenty. Food has always been good. Wait staff and bartenders are always very pleasant. I wish they would change the lighting though. Some light fixtures on ceiling and maybe at the booths and dimmer lighting would enhance the look and experience. We tried this place when it first opened and did not like any of our food. We thought we would give it another chance . I ordered the supreme enchilada dinner. Plate was hot , food was cool. 4 enchiladas smothered in rather cool chili sauce and cold lettuce on top? This is just a terrible recipe and not really Mexican food. It appears they to put a "spin" on their recipes but they just don't work. I sent mine back, they brought me a new plate, the food was marginally warm enough to eat. We arrived at 4:45 PM. Got a table immediately.. we didn't leave till 7:15pm. 2 1/2 hours.. Service? there was no service. We sat there for 20 minutes before I had to ask somebody ti get someone to wait on us.. then we got our margaritas and I asked for more salt on the glass so I asked for them to just bring me a glass with salt and I would pour it in. They said sure.!! NEVER GOT IT!!!! Then I had to ask somebody to take my order because nobody came to the table and asked. Once we got our food. Food quality wasn't the best. Friends and I enjoyed their street tacos which I highly recommend, guac, and pina coladas! That was the worst Mexican food I have had in a long time! I had the beef enchilada with rice and beans. The enchilada was filled with browned hamburger. No cheese no onions no lettuce no nothing inside that enchilada. The enchilada sauce is what you buy at the grocery store in the can and it was very tasteless! The salsa and chips they bring you out the salsa was nasty all it was was tomatoes sauce very little taste to it no spice no nothing. When we asked for a hotter salsa we were charged $1.50 for a little tiny dish I will go back once more and give it another try, but not anytime in the near future, I don't know how long they've been opened but you can't access their email address or their business address online so that is why I am leaving this review here. The staff was absolutely wonderful, very polite, very attentive. They became extremely busy around 5 o'clock. What became problematic, was two in our party ordered fajitas. The side dish for the fajitas came out. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. One by one, our orders were served.. By the time the second person received their fajita meat, the side dish was cold. I had a steak quesadilla that was a bit too salty, and looked under cooked. This has to be the worst Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at. I order the fajita steak and shrimp. The steak was so dry that I knew it was cooked at a later date and then frozen to reheat upon serving. I was with a table of 7 and I tried everyone's dish and it had the same taste that it's been cooked a day to two and then reheated upon serving. I will tell anyone that plans on eating here that don't expect quality. I am really disappointed with this place cause my daughter took me here for Father's Day.
