Me and hubby had come a couple of times in the past but never found it open. We decided to go again and see if this time we had some luck. It was open and upon entering I was immediately greeted. We took a seat and the waitress immediately came over to take our order. We both ordered the same thing. Gorditas de Maiz Plate with rice and beans. Each platter comes with 2 Gorditas of your choice. I ordered one of Carne Asada and one of Picadillo and hubby ordered Asada & Chicharrón. Well let me tell you that the food was absolutely AMAZING! I hadn't had a Gordita this good in many years. I grew up in El Paso where Gorditas are very common at all Mexican Restaurants and very good. Well this restaurant says it is "Estilo Juarez" which means Juarez Style food which is the border of El Paso, Tx so I knew it was going to be Delicious and it was. The food was very flavorful and delicious and it took me right back to my younger days growing up in El Paso. I can't rave enough about the flavor you'll just have to come try it. Definitely recommend and we will definitely be back for more and to try their other items. I almost forgot to mention their salsas too. They were Fire. The green was delicious, flavorful and had the right amount of heat. The red she offered me separately was literal FIRE in my mouth but oh so tasty. I came craving the flautas. Normally when ordered at the restaurant you get all three sauces on the flautas directly but I ordered to go. I love getting half de papa and half carne desebrada. Then I got gorditas to share with my partner. Thank goodness I ordered some because I completely forgot how good the maiz gorditas are. The maiz is seasoned and it is so flavorful. They were also stuffed with the picadillo. If you ever find yourself off broadway I definitely recommend to stop by. They are so prompt, friendly and helpful. read more

Nice and clean. The service is nice. The asada tacos are fair. Asada tacos served up with salsa Verde, most likely jalapeño. The flavor was good, nothing bad, nothing exciting. We were craving some authentic Mexican on our way through Albuquerque and this place did not disappoint. We both had pork and steak tacos with refried beans and rice and it was fantastic! Service was fine and we got our food pretty quick. Not much ambience, but it didn't matter because we loved the food and we will come back. read more

Bomb bomb bomb. I am in New Mexico for a conference and the place we originally went to was sold out of food. So we came here and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I'm a total taco snob because I'm from LA, which has some of the best tacos out there. This place is a Total dive place but such good food. The horchata is sweet but not over powering. The flautas are super good and big!! The tacos al pastor are super good. Stop reading this and go try this place!! read more

Nice little neighborhood hole in the wall. The place is clean, including bathrooms and the kitchen looks spotless. The menu is simple, see photo. We mistakenly ordered salsa and chips, mistakenly because it wasn't even on the menu, but the young lady made it fresh to order, hot, corn tortilla chips & two kinds of salsa, it was good too! The Gorditas are available in Maiz (corn) or Arina (flour) and both were very good. I could tell both were made fresh, right then. We also ordered Taco Burgers, which were very good. See photos. Everything is freshly made, cooked to order, and has great authentic flavor. It is a family owned restaurant and is easy to miss but well worth it if you find it! Parking can seem cramped and the place could be a little bit cleaner as well but overall a good authentic Mexican restaurant if you're looking for flautas which is their signature dish. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Albuquerque. read more

Meh. I was hoping that since this is a dinky little place it'd be one of those secretly amazing places. It was only ok. I found service a little awkward; wasn't sure if I was supposed to go up and order or if there was table service. I ordered at the counter. Was DESPERATE for a refill on my drink and no one ever checked on me the entire meal. It's a tiny place, so I really could've just hollered at them, but they were standing around not doing anything (two waitresses, one cook) so surely someone could've looked up and made eye contact with me at some point, if not actually walked over to my table and asked? Finally when I couldn't take it any longer I took my cup back up to the counter and asked for a refill. $9 (plus tip) for enchilada and horchata. read more

The potato flautas are legit. Five per oder. Corn tortilla shell fried to perfection, creamy potato filling. The green sauce, ridiculously good. They had just closed, but I told them that I'd come from so far away just to taste their food (and more importantly, that my order was para llavar). Chino, the owner was so kind, the food was delicious, and I'm glad I made it to this spot.

Went in there just to get some bread or "Bollio" last Sunday. Apparently they had just ran out so I had to wait for the next batch, I stood in line behind three people and just waited and observed. I saw that one of the cooks had a hairnet that barely covered her pony tale and the rest of her hair was exposed but I didn't think much of it. After waiting there for about half an hour they finally came out to cook (yes they were barely baking it) the bread, I noticed that it was only two people baking it and neither of them had gloves. The place was absolutely packed and it didn't seem like I was getting my bread anytime soon so I had to leave since I had already waiting there for about an hour read more
