The interior of this little restaurant is so nice, with colorfully painted wooden tables and chairs, and colorful paper picada on the ceiling. I ordered a strawberry (fresa) agua fresca, chips & salsa, and enchiladas- Christmas- from the vegan menu. The chips and salsa were nice- the salsa on the spicy side for me. I really liked the refried beans, the rice was good, the enchiladas were okay. The red Chile was oddly sweet. The green chile was very flavorful but more like a green enchilada sauce than NM style green Chile. My first visit to this establishment was June 2, 2026. I met a friend there for lunch. There is nice signage and very good parking. Staff are friendly. Seating looks to be about 20 people on one side and then on the other side of the restaurant it opens up to another large seating area. The decor is lively and interesting. I ordered the bistec ranchero. It came with the side of salad with a slice of avocado, Mexican style, rice, and refried beans. The beef was well cooked and had a nice subtle spicy flavor. This is a hidden gem it's tucked away and from the outside you wouldn't think that it's a restaurant. The decor inside is beautiful the customer service was great. My daughter found it on Instagram, said she wanted to try it. When I saw the parking lot I was a little apprehensive (I'm in a wheelchair) but once I turned to the door, it was great. They had a ramp and inside the tables were tall enough for my chair to fit. Evi the waitress was great, she answered all the questions we tossed at her. The menudo is incredibly delicious here. Every ingredient is cooked perfectly and the flavor is what you would expect from Mexican home cooking, just like abuela used to make. It's served with buttered bread that you can dip into the soup, and there are side toppings like lime , onions, Chilli, and cilantro that you can choose to add if you wish. The queso birria tacos are good too but definitely second best to the menudo. The menudo is a must try. Also, pro tip, the size small plus the bread alone is enough to fill you up, I had to stuff myself to eat the rest. The servers are friendly; they speak both Spanish and English, and the ambiance gives very much like small mom pop Mexican restaurant. Ah another hole-in-the-wall. My favorite type of Mexican restaurant. Located in a repurposed house it's small, minimal tables but there's a patio area. Grab a menu and decide our breakfast. Order at the counter and wait for delivery of our menudos. While we wait we bought a package of Gorditas de Leche. They were not overly sweet, definitely good. The menudo arrived in huge bowls accompanied by toasted bread. I keep forgetting that most places we've been to serve bread instead of tortillas. The Menudo was excellent, good mix of meat to broth and best of all - not a lot of grease. Definitely a great stop this morning. My only issue was it was a little hard to navigate parking. Although in a slightly sketchy area, the restaurant is totally pristine with a small parking lot or street parking available. Lots of locals which is a major tell on how good this place is. The inside area was full of people, so we were offered the patio. Fully enclosed w/space heaters - was perfect. We ordered chilaquiles with both green & red chile with eggs over easy (less than $12). This place is a delicious little hidden gem!! There's a difference between New Mexican cuisine and Mexican cuisine. Not in a bad way by any means, but their spices and preparation are different. This place is as authentic Mexican cuisine as you can get. I had green chile chicken enchiladas and boy are they amazing. They are rolled, stuffed with chicken and cheese, and topped with a delicious green jalapeños and tomatillo sauce, queso cotija, and onions. The refritos are creamy and the rice is perfect!! The service was quick and friendly, but it looks like they may get busy during lunch. The cute little restaurant also has a covered patio that seems to be the favorite place to sit. Their birria tacos are amazing and to die for, other dishes are delicious too, but this place have by far the best birria tacos I have eaten thus far here in the US. (mainly from California). This place serves some seriously good Mexican food, mostly from the Durango region. I stopped by and ordered birria tacos. They were legit! The beef was tender and juicy and the tacos were perfectly fried. And the stew for dipping was excellente! The place is truly a hole-in-the-wall. It used to be a house, and once you get into the front door, you find a really cute place. Bright colors, Mexican music, and a clean environment. They are allowing dining, and they have moved their few tables apart. I probably will stick with takeout, and I want to try their other tacos. Tucked in in a neighborhood, Olivos has its own parking lot and it's quite the hidden gem ;) Breakfast was served and very delicious along with a solid cup of coffee ;) There are certainly many different items on the menu but the one that caught my eye was the chilaquiles! To have a good plate of quilt quilts you need to have the chips crunchy yet soaked in the deliciousness of the sauce you pick to coat them in. I chose both the red and green and both sauces had their own flavor profile that you can't go wrong with. Accompanied by refried beans, with scrambled eggs and added some delicious carne asada, this was quite the meal! Flavorful, great portion size, authentic and most importantly DELICIOUS! This place is a gem. I had been by a few times before, but I always seem to miss their hours. I happened to be in the area this week, and I was able to finally get in and try it. The place is really small inside. What do they say though? Good things come in small packages. Anyhow, I was able to find room in the main building, but it did look like there was some outdoor seating available too. The menu is not overly complex and offers a good variety of Mexican food. I had seen a lot of posts about their birria tacos, so I decided to give them a shot. They are priced really fair at $9.99 for four tacos. This is a deal compared to what other places are charging around the city. When the food came, it was as delicious as it looks in my photos. The consumé paired really well with the tacos. That could have possibly been the BEST Mexican food I've ever had. Me and my adventure buddy both got the Birria tacos with cheese and a coke. The taco shells were red. I've never had that before. It was AMAZING. And the beef was seasoned perfectly. I really Really REALLY loved the cheese melted inside. That was heaven. We got some Birria soup with that which was incredible as well. It was super nice sitting on the patio too. They had a couple other things on the menu I was eyeing. The cheese cake looked really nice but they had something else for desert that I never heard of. I'm going to get that next time. They brought us samples of the pozole and medundu. I like the polzole better though they were both lovely. There were also some nice augua fresca's.
