We love Mexican food and we were excited when a new restaurant opened up near our house. We came here last month with some family and it was mid-week so it was pretty quiet overall. The service was decent and we had no issues at all with our meal. We got an appetizer special that was similar to a taquito that was tasty overall and had lots of good queso. We got a variety of meals for our entree and I really enjoyed my steak and chicken fajitas as they were cooked well and were not very salty, which is very much appreciated (the fajitas are often very salty around here). This place is just amazing. Major west coast Mexican food vibes here! We came here specifically for the Birria pizza and it did not disappoint. Just think, a giant quesadilla that's filled with cheese, super tender Birria meat, I think this was goat?, and topped with a massive crispy tortilla. This pizza comes with an entire tray of sides; guac, sour cream, pico, and the Birria consommé for dipping! Each bite was pure joy! Amazing textures, spices, and that melted cheese with the meat is a perfect pairing! This thing is huge and one of these pizzas will easily feed four grown adults. This was our first visit. As it turns out they are closing on August 31 to be replaced by a Peruvian restaurant. My husband loved his taco salad and the service was pleasant. It was 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and the place was empty. Come to find out the owners couldn't get a liquor license. So much for happy hour. No drink specials and only margaritas in a can. They had a pretty good beer selection but bottled only. I had a Cali Burrito. Don't. I didn't read the menu well and the burrito was stuffed with fries, meat, cheese. No sauce, no sides. The burrito was large and I had to take 1/2 home but, again, fries in a burrito. The meat wasn't seasoned well. As disappointed as I was, the restaurant came recommended by friends and other reviewers so I would have been back to try something else. Guess I'll look for the next iteration this fall. read more

We (4 of us) just ate there today.....ooooohhhh mmmmyyyy, what a feast it was! I got the Carnitas Plate, one of the best I've ever had.....my friends got; the #13 Burrito Fajita, #22 Enchiladas (her 4th time), and # 37 Huevos Rancheros. We all came away, absolutely stuffed and needing a good lie down....lol..... Sooooo much great food, the portions are quite large, the people very friendly, but you order at the counter and then they bring it to you..... The menu is pretty darn large as well....we'll have to go back regularly to be able to try all the food! No liquor license as yet, but they do have beer and soft drinks. This and Tipsy Thai are the two stars in this new little strip mall, go now and go often, you won't be disappointed! read more

If I could rate it a 3.5, I would. Anyway, I made a special detour to visit Taqueria El Rincon as I was in the mood for some good, authentic Mexican Food. The space is big and bright, almost too big and bright for my liking. I normally like a good hole-in-the-wall taco joint, but it was clean. On the atmosphere, I was a little taken by the music selection as it was a super religious station, not what I would have expected. (As an FYI, this didn't impact my rating, I was merely pointing out an observation.) The service staff was friendly and very nice. My only issue/concern, is that I had asked if the beans had any meat (many times refried beans have been refried in animal fat) and she thought for a minute and said no. But I wasn't entirely convinced, but ok. The chips were warm and fresh, but the salsa wasn't anything special, more like a packaged product than made in house. I had the Chile Relleno - it was presented well, everything on the plate was good, but nothing exceptional. I probably wouldn't make a special trip to go back, but if I were in the area meeting friends and they suggested the restaurant, I wouldn't say "No way! Let's go somewhere else." read more

A solid little Mexican place and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. It's counter service and has a drive thru, which I often hit up after the lake with my boat in tow. The test to me for any Mexican place is the rice & beans, which they passed with flying colors. If a place puts care into the simple rice & beans on the side, then there's a good chance that everything else will be tasty as well. The chips and salsa were also very solid.
