l used to go there all the time with my family. The staff was nice sometimes and the food is good. But my friend just moved to town and applied for a job there. I don't know if you have any decent managers because of how they handled her interviews, they wasted her time more than once! And the worst part was your staff laughing and giving her dirty looks while she was there for an interview, it's not even about her getting the job. It's about basic respect. This small, mom-and-pop-style restaurant was packed with customers even at 2 PM on a Friday, which says a lot. A local friend told us it's always busy, no matter the time of day, and it's open until midnight, making it a reliable late-night food spot as well. What We Ordered: * Beef Soup: This was my personal highlight. The beef was exceptionally tender, reminiscent of Korean galbitang (beef soup), though the ingredients and broth had a distinctly different, Mexican flair. The broth leaned oily, but the flavor was rich and comforting. Next time, I'd like to try it with regular beef instead of tendon. For my personal taste it was still pretty greasy. * Beef & Cheese Quesadilla: Massive in size and definitely enough to share. Yes, it was oily--but that added to the indulgent, local flavor. For my personal taste it was still pretty greasy. * Chili Verde Pork: Flavorful and juicy with just the right amount of kick. Still pretty greasy. * Nachos with Cheese & Beef: Not bad, but a bit dry compared to the other dishes. Might benefit from extra sauce or salsa. Pickle & Sauce Bar: A huge bonus! There were four house-made salsas, pickled red onions with a spicy kick, radishes, and cucumber slices--all perfect accompaniments to balance out the heavier dishes. ‍‍‍ Ambience & Service: The atmosphere was family-friendly with a classic, cozy Mexican restaurant vibe. The staff were friendly and efficient, even though the place was packed. Seating is limited, so be prepared to wait during peak hours--but it's worth it. Pricing: While prices have increased a bit (dishes ranging from $15-19), the portion sizes are generous--many plates could easily be split between two people. Considering the quality and authenticity, it still feels like a great value. Final Thoughts: Most of the patrons appeared to be from Central or South American backgrounds, which added even more credibility to the authenticity of the food. I moved to Kennewick, WA from my Hometown, San Francisco, CA in 2016 and never thought about the quality & variety of food available in Tri-Cities, which I found sorely disappointing. The prices charged for food that is so not worth it is borderline criminal! Okay, I know I'm spoiled because the competition is intense in SF and the quality and quantity and prices have made me a bit of a snob. My bad. A couple months ago, I happened to drive into El Sazon out of curiosity and am now a loyal customer. Today, I bought 4 tacos, 2x carnitas & 2x shredded beef. OMG!!! The quality of the meat and the authenticity is so scrumptious! Four tacos for less than $10 and they are very generous with the meat! I highly recommend the tacos - huge chunks of meat - and the shrimp ceviche tostadas which are very tasty! I'll be back soon! read more

Food is always good even if they get the order wrong. Service is usually great, with the exception of Rodolto. He has no customer service skills at all, I have encountered him twice in the drive thru the first time he cut me off in the middle of my order with a total, so I didn't even get my order in. This last time he left me hanging at the drive thru for 10 min without getting payment or saying hey or nothing then took my payment standing in the window with it closed, didn't ask what sauces I would like. hemmin and hawing rolling his eyes all while my order was sitting ready to go within my sight for 4 minutes. And as my bf tells me, in order to really get a true telling about a Mexican restaurant, you have to try their tacos. We ordered 3 carne asada tacos, and 3 chichiron tacos. They have a salsa bar with chips and all sorts of goodness. The food was aaaammmaaaazzziiinnnggg. The best, most authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten, and trust me... I've had a lot in my days. The staff is SO friendly and the place is very clean. I used their bathroom (which you have to exit the restaurant and walk a few feet away to) and it was one of the cleanest restaurant's bathrooms I have ever used. My bf and I ate enough to not eat the rest of the day for $30ish including tip! So cheap for such quality, satisfying food. I'm trying to find a reason to go out there again just so we can eat here! Going to have to pass on anything that doesn't have chicken meat. Bought an asada burger and on 2 occasions there's been hard spots. They advertise $1 tacos from 8-closing but around 11pm they run out of meat (this is what I was told by the drive thru personnel) and only have a select menu which you have to ask (what do you have available?). I think it's a bad business practice to advertise their $1 tacos for a given timeframe, but excuse themselves ; when they " run out of meat." If you run out of meat then put that in the ad. Otherwise, this is setting the wrong customer expectations. Lately their drive thru has been packed, but so have other restaurants. It's great that this business is opening up another location, but maybe they should not lose focus on improving their current customer's service & experience. read more

I am willing to concede that we may have ordered the wrong thing at this place. We both got the taco salad with chicken. It had sour cream and guacamole on top. With the first forkful, we could see that everything below the sour cream/guac was liquid. it was sort of like chicken stew in a flour shell with wilted lettuce on top. Pretty disgusting, actually. We each ate maybe a third of it & left the rest. Also, the "salad" didn't look at all like the picture on the menu! The salsa bar is a nice touch. I would never go back to this place. Maybe the tacos & enchiladas are better? I wouldn't risk it; even a chain restaurant would be better than this. I usually love it here. But tonight I asked for a steal salad that I get often. The girl seemed confused and said they didn't have one. I told her I got it all the time. She said they do a chicken salad but not steak.... What's the difference besides a price bump? She agreed they'd make it even though it was something I'd had there many times. It's delicious. Tonight I got something totally different. A wet, nasty pile. Usually it is in a taco shell, there is sour cream and guacamole, small chopped pieces of steak and cheese. This is nothing like that. For some reason my husband wanted Sazon so we decided to give this place another try but didnt fail to disappoint once again the prices online are diffrent from what they have in store my husband went through the drive through not even paying attention to the prices because we had already looked online when he got home I had 1 torta de asada 4 tacos and a medium horchata for $22.79 ...I called the store asked for a manager when questioned she said that the store manager is the one who handles the web page I thought i was talking to the store manager?? Hmmm and she said prices always change..so the torta online went from $6.92 to $8.76 and 4 tacos went from $9 to $10.83 ..ridiculous and I guess we have to request lime with tacos when going through the drive up area cuz they dont give anything unless requested I agree with a former post this place Sucks!!! read more

Absolutely love this restaurant. Since moving here from the LA area one of the things I missed the most was carne asada wet burrito in salsa verde. Now this is something they don't have in the menu but they do have wet burritos in salsa roja (red) but if you ask them if it can be in salsa verde they will do it at no extra charge :) the prices they have are excellent I've notice a lot of Mexican restaurants are way to over price here in the tri cities.
