You immediately fall in love with this place. The aroma of fresh meat cooking and the scent fresh cut onions and radishes mixed with cinnamon sweet horchata just screams I have to! Be sure to let them know your first time they will load tons of extra special appetizers that you will love, refreshed, vegetable, sliced radishes, delicious guacamole, and of course I had to order the five dollar bucket size of Horchata, which was delicious The burrito I got was a wet burrito. It was red and it had beef Asada as it's known. I didn't even wait seven minutes and I had it, but I was very lucky. This place is so famous even the governor just come by for lunch. You'll have to try all the different items even offer a plate of seafood options. This place is incredible and it's open until 10 PM with plenty of parking. read more

Best nachos ever. That should be the extent of the review but their asada in general is fire. I wish their portions were a bit bigger but it's all good. Owner lady isn't the most welcoming or nicest but her food is consistently good which matters most. My wife has been eating here since she was a kid and it hasn't stopped. read more

Three tacos, beans, rice, and drink for $10.50 with card. Amazing. Rice and beans are good, and tacos have so much flavor. I got everything loaded on them, which added a great spicy twist. Amazing well made al Pastor tacos, with good red rice and beans. We had 3 tacos each, I enjoyed every bite, was still hungry after, so ordered more. Our family with us ordered Carne green wet burritos. They loved it yet could only eat half cause it filled them up! Good ambience, reasonable prices and good food. read more

My parents go to this restaurant a lot, but after my dad found this metal bristle in his taco, he says he does not feel comfortable eating there. My mom still has the bristle because they wanted to show it to the owner but I told her I rather upload it into yelp so others can see and maybe the restaurant can really change their food handling/ cleaning techniques. This is so dangerous! My dad was eating his taco when he bit into something hard in the meat and to pull this out! I'm shocked! read more

Got some menudo from this spot on Saturday & I was left utterly disgusted. I proceeded to prepare my menudo as I usually do & as I was about to eat I noticed a thick dark hair on my first spoonful. I then examined my menudo & found that many pieces of meat had hair. While examining the meat I noticed that the hair still intact with the skin looked normal, but the hair floating on the caldito was dark & coarse leaving me to think it was a mustache/beard hair or something else. I was left disgusted & nauseous from this experience. My man sadly didn't examine his menudo & it wasn't until after I noticed mine that he then examined his & found hair in his too. He ate half his menudo by the time I noticed mine & he was equally disgusted & upset. I've tried the menudo from here other times when my man lived in Maywood, & I remembered it being good, but this experience was just too horrible. By the way this place also failed to provide cilantro for our menudos (the cilantro in the menudo I had in the fridge & added it myself) they gave a little bit of lemon, & over all skimped on ingredients. WARNING: Avoid at all costs. This place is so horrible I'm astonished that they remain open. I placed a take-out order here and got home to find a short thick curly hair in one of the dishes, clearly visible in the white crema. I called to let them know, and they said that the cooks are bald (doubting me as they do to every customer who speaks up). I took a picture as proof and told them it was possibly an arm hair. I went back, and the lady with tattoos and bad attitude was rude about the incident, which isn't my fault; it's theirs. No apology either. At least offer a complimentary drink for the inconvenience... Any establishment with integrity would offer a replacement, not deny the customer when they have a valid complaint. Bottom line, they're rude, serve small mediocre portions of food, are overpriced, and don't accept accountability for their mistakes. I didn't trust the food anymore, so I tossed it. I never went back after that. It was a waste of time and money. If you want to spend on actual good tacos, check out Guisados - they have a bunch of locations. read more

I ordered their super nachos based on other reviews on yelp. They were good. However the steak was a bit dry to my taste. -1 star for that. I also ordered couple of tacos. They were delicious. But as you can see they might win the Guinness record for the smallest tacos ever? J/K Colleagues ordered steak sope's but they did not like their meal. This place is great. Tacos de carne asada are better than Tacos Mexico. Not sure why Tacos Mexico quality and portion have downgraded while their prices upgraded. I got tacos, sopes and enchiladas. Loved it. I will definitely be returning. While I was there about 30 minutes (I dined inside) there were approximately 5 customers that arrived and left plus more customers that picked up food. An entire family was also dining in. This is a sign that the food is good. read more

I use to love their carne asada nachos. Now they are not good, maybe they are lowering food quality because of cost, I don't know. Last time I got nachos from them, it was horrible. It hardly had any chips , they were already soggy, guacamole didn't taste fresh. Had a gamey taste to it. Went to get a refund, the owner or cook whoever it was angry, told me next time check your food, and it was the last time he will refund. I don't think that's good service. He seemed to be mad that he was losing money. Food should always taste the same, that's why you have repeat customers. read more

Today I ate a small rock from the bag of carrots thinking it was sea salt. I later bit into a bigger rock in my nachos that was to hard to mistake for sea salt and it broke into 3 pieces. I then realized the previous rock that turned to sand was a rock not sea salt. read more

Horrible service!!! Tacos were not that bad but very expressive for street tacos. I paid 28.36 for 12 tacos & 1 Horchata and the cashier never gave me my drink. She was very rude & Bothered when I told her it was to dine in. The taco place on Randolph & Heliotrope taste better & are a lot cheaper. My mother wanted to use the restroom and she told her that they didn't have one!!! That's crazy!!! The Health department wouldn't let a restaurant open without a restroom, I'm going to check in with the Health department to see if this is legal. read more

This place was recommended to me by a local while I was thrift shopping at Sunday's. Glad I went for a quick bite. Their carnitas nachos was very tasty. The nacho chips were crispy, almost like wonton chips in thickness. The carnitas was perfectly cooked and the toppings were all fresh. Definitely going back when I'm in the area again. read more

My favorite taco spot in LA. Meat is well seasoned, not full of salt or fat. Their salsa is the best I've had in a taco joint. I've seen them actually make their own salsa with chile de Arbol. I started eating here in 2009 and it hasn't failed me since. Quality is consistent. Recommend the nachos, burrito, and tacos. Closes at 10p! read more

I'm honestly really disappointed with this place came this morning with friend . He ordered a cocktail of shrimp and I ordered a quesadilla. I got mad because they didn't even put the condiments for the cocktail of shrimp and it was pure water . It didn't even have shrimp . And on my quesadilla it didn't even look like a quesadilla it looked like a burrito plane I understand that each restaurant have their way of making there food but this place need to change the name of what I ordered because it was to big and it hardly had cheese . And it wasn't grilled enough . So I suggest for them to change the tortilla size if they still want to sale quesadillas or like I said change the name . I first visited while I was in the area with my best friend, who is also half Argentinian like me and does modeling as a hobby. I've since returned with my boyfriend, and the food has never disappointed. For a little personal context, I'm half Argentinian and half Mexican. Although the Mexican side of my family is from Guadalajara and Sonora, I didn't grow up eating Jalisco-style cuisine, so exploring different regional Mexican cooking has been especially fun for me. I also really like the inside of the restaurant. The paintings and artwork give the place a lot of character and make you feel tapped into the culture while you're eating. Service has always been good too. They actually check back on you and make sure you're taken care of, which I appreciate. Overall, I'm coming back for one thing: those mole flautas--especially the pipian.

I first visited while I was in the area with my best friend, who is also half Argentinian like me and does modeling as a hobby. The ambiance was like stepping into a little casita in Mexico -- bright, colorful, vibrant, and welcoming. The staff were friendly, too. We tried an appetizer and shared the Enchiladas Tres Moles. Granted, I've never had truly authentic mole, but I've had versions of mole that were not good. The mole here, however, was out of this world delicious. Even the mole that came with the dinner chips as their "salsa mole" was fantastic. I remember thinking, I feel like I'm experiencing Michelin-star-level food in the middle of the LA barrio. And honestly, that's the beauty of the barrio. There are culinary diamonds all over Los Angeles -- you just have to give them a chance and be willing to try somewhere new. I've since returned with my boyfriend, and the food has never disappointed. For a little personal context, I'm half Argentinian and half Mexican. Although the Mexican side of my family is from Guadalajara and Sonora, I didn't grow up eating Jalisco-style cuisine, so exploring different regional Mexican cooking has been especially fun for me. The old owner was so nice but now they have this mean white lady who has tattoos and chains and takes her little daughter to the restaurant to play around in the kitchen. Their menudo is gross now it stinks so bad it's like they don't properly prepare it. The last time we were here we told the lady our nacho chips were rancid and the lady got upset blaming us saying she was going to waste the meat and other ingredients but the chips weren't edible so we asked for new ones. The lady proceeded to scrape the meat and everything else off the top of the chips and onto a new pile of chips and just added so much sour cream it was bad. Don't go here!! read more
