The Sage and bourbon cocktail was extremely good as well. Honestly the only thing that was even remotely disappointing was the key lime pie, which wasn't tart at all and didn't taste like key limes. But also I'm a big key lime pie snob so I don't use that as a standard for ratings. This is the third time we've been there and we shouldn't even bother to give the original Oregon Bleu salad again because the chicken is so hard, it's inedible and the lettuce is watered down. My daughter loves the vegan menu here, which is the main reason we visit this restaurant. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was disappointing. The restaurant's posted closing time is 10:00 PM. At 8:59 PM, I called to place a takeout order. I was told that the kitchen closes at 9:00 PM, but the employee kindly said they would check with the kitchen to see if they could still accept my order. They came back and took my order, which I appreciated. A few minutes later, they called me back to ask whether I wanted greens or fries with my meal. I chose fries. However, when I got home and opened the bag, the fries were missing, and only the burger was included. I understand that ordering close to closing time can be inconvenient, and I truly appreciated the staff making the effort to accept my order. However, since they specifically asked me to choose between greens and fries, I expected the order to be prepared correctly. It was disappointing to discover that part of the meal was missing after I had already arrived home. I hope the restaurant can pay a little more attention to takeout orders, especially when customers are making last-minute orders that the staff has kindly agreed to accommodate. I still enjoy the food and hope this was just an isolated mistake. read more

Out with my wife for a nice dinner, we chose Wildwood based on location. The restaurant showcases a large bar beautifully decorated with wood top along with whiskey and vodka displays. Reservations are not required for parties of 6 or less, I was told. We were seated promptly in their outdoor area. Live music was featured on this particular night. Very nice ambiance. We started with the crab and artichoke dip along with a round of Sacramento Sage Advice drinks. Their drink menu is large and it includes many wine offerings as well. For our main course I had the swordfish special- very delicate fish atop a bed of baby squash, grape tomatoes and a tasty citrus sauce. It was excellent! My wife had the New York steak with duck-fat infused fried potatoes (very interesting). Her steak was sliced atop a delicious sauce. Everything was made perfectly delicious. To round up the occasion we shared a peach pie à la mode. I would like to mention that we had a great experience thanks to our server, Shaun who gave us food recommendations. I've been here at least half a dozen times now and, and haven't updated my reviews since the one off day here. Since that time I've beem at least 4-5 times haven't had an issue since. On several of the occasions since my last review, we've dined with a very large party for two visits. Both were for birthdays and both times our party was of at least 12 people if not more. And the Wildwood staff went above and beyond to mee at of our dinning needs. The food and drinks in my more recent experiences have been great, and various people raved about their dishes. Since my last review I also finally got to partake in the outdoor dining on the back patio. And listen to the love music that is now common during the warmer weather. The live music was wonderful to experience close us for once, and I look forward to when it comes out in the patio area. It was one of those things before dining at Wildwood, that I wasn't aware was part of there restaurant. When I'd hear live music when driving through the parking lot. Let me start by saying the risotto with prawns might be the best dish I've ever had and I didn't even order it! It had creamy pesto mixed in with large prawns and light cheese melted which made every bite perfection. I was blown away. The overall ambience of this place is A1. The staff here are all in unison. Came here around 8pm on a Saturday evening with my fiancee. We were sat right away in a beautiful setting. Every detail of the decor is thought about here. It's one of the nicest restaurants I've sat in. We started with some of their signature cocktails. They don't skimp on the alcohol here. You can taste the alcohol while enjoying a greatly made drink. The highlight here for me was the lychee white linen; perfect blend of gin, lemon and cucumber. Super light and refreshing while also strong! I went with the ribeye which came with two sides. One looked like au gratin but creamier and cheesier. Bomb! The other caramelized spinach and carrots. Not my favorite but still delicious. This place is not cheap by any means but Lord knows we all work hard for our money and life is too short not to enjoy it while we can! read more

My first time at Wildwood. What a gorgeous, spacious place. We arrived for a late lunch, so the lunch crowd was somewhat diminished. I scanned around noting the high ceilings, art, and enormous outdoor patio area on the other side of the glass wall. This restaurant could handle a large gathering and still not feel crowded! The high ceiling makes this place great for noise control. Lots of conversations float upwards. The menu is small, but looked good. Meal salads were prominent. I almost picked one, but decided at the last moment to try a burger and mini-fries. I had to smile at the presentation of a small sauce container of ketchup on a plate. (No informal condiment in a squirt bottle for this restaurant!). Amusingly, the tiny grocery style bag of skinny fries arrived on the burger plate tipped to the side, spilling towards the (very) delicious hamburger. Every fries was perfect! The drinks are well-made, and hat tip to the bartender! Two of us shared the mushroom bruschetta. Warm Rich flavors. It was delectable. It was a bit much for me to have that and my entrée, but it was a tasty appetizer! The seared prawn risotto was definitely tasty. A pricey dish, but it was so nice to have something that tasted very homemade. The the richness of the risotto, the flavors/seasoning, and the prawns absolutely a tasty dish! We decided that since we've all been fairly indulgent already, we might as well have dessert as well! I ordered the warm chocolate cake. I can say it was actually too rich for me. I love a good dessert, and had I not enjoyed so much prior to dessert, I absolutely would've enjoyed this with a lovely after dinner drink. Great experience. Great company. Delicious meal for brunch today - ordered three items and shared each to try a variety. The Benedict was a large portion, coming with 4 eggs for the same price most places do 2 eggs. The prime rib dip was wonderful - I opted for no horseradish aioli and then got basil aioli on the side which was super yummy, and went well with the thin crispy fries. The chilaquiles was good, not my favorite brunch option but ordered for my wife and she enjoyed it. The meal was beautifully prepared and overall a well made (and very filling) plate. We have frequented restaurants close to Wildwood and love the Pavilions for shopping but never stopped in here for food. So when we decided last minute to go out for dinner, we wanted to try something new. We love that they focus on farm to fork seasonal offerings. They serve fresh local ingredients with a New American cuisine menu. We came on Saturday night and they had live musion the patio. We opted to be seated right away inside because there was a wait list for outside. No biggie as the inside seating opens up to the patio and you can still see and hear the live music. The patio is pretty cool and we will have to try that next time. They have seating with fire pits and communal seating. We were seated midway between the patio and bar area in a high top table. We ordered the house Rose wine and a margarita for drinks. For food we ordered the seared prawn risotto that was divine with smoky bacon and Parmesan cheese. It was so good! We also ordered the Mediterranean grilled salmon entrée. To start we had the beet salad that was perfection! It had oranges, goat cheese, fresh tomatoes, really fresh beets, onions. We ended with the Nutella banana creme brûlée with peanut brittle that was delicious. It was the perfect amount of creamy with a crunchy topping of peanut brittle. We loved all of our dishes and highly recommend dining here for the food, service and live music. We will definitely be back! The service was fantastic! She was energetic, attentive and just one of the best we've had dining out in recent years. She gave us some recommendations for food options shared when they have live music and band recommendations and specials we should try. Well...wrote this place off several yrs ago when I was served the worst prime rib sando ever. lol...some things never change. Wildwood still serves a pathetic excuse for a prime rib sando. Unless you enjoy 3-4 oz of scraps and fatty trimmings from a prime rib roast on a roll as your prime rib sando. Not a single "slice" of prime rib. Nothing but the trimmings scooped up and served on a mediocre roll. And a handful of limp fries in a paper basket. For $22. Nothing creative or special about it. Honestly it's about an $10 sando but I understand they have ridiculous overhead. I so miss Bandera where a prime rib sando actually had thin sliced prime rib layered on it! It's actually sad becuz the restaurant has a nice vibe to it. Food is disappointing. Won't be back. Too many others taking more pride in what they serve for top dollar. read more

Weird taste with the wood fire. I don't mind the smoke as I do a lot at home myself but they have a grilled artichoke that literally put me off my dinner. Lobster cakes were really fishy and grossly wet and fell apart. Shrimp were so tough I had to use a knife to cut them. Won't be back. read more

Last night's dinner was unfortunately a mixed experience, and how it was handled is the reason for this review. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which was genuinely excellent; flavorful, well-cooked, and easily the highlight of the meal. My husband ordered the ribeye steak, which unfortunately came out severely undercooked. The center was completely raw, so we had to send it back, something we really dislike doing. When the bill arrived, nothing had been comped for the mistake (that's fine), and we also noticed a 3% kitchen gratuity added to the check. We understand this charge is legal under California's SB 1524 if disclosed on the menu, which it was. Our concern wasn't legality, but fairness. After sending a dish back due to a clear kitchen error, an extra tip to the kitchen felt inappropriate. We brought this up to the manager, Ryan, hoping for a reasonable explanation or resolution. His response was confusing and honestly troubling. He told us that when people notice the charge, they usually void it out immediately, which made it sound like the fee is intentionally left on unless guests catch it. When I said that was fine and asked him to void it, he became flustered, said he would remove it, and walked away without taking any information from us or explaining how it would be handled. At that point, the hostesses tried to help and were far more professional. However, they asked us to write down our credit card information to resolve the issue, which we were absolutely not comfortable doing. They did offer us dessert, which felt like a more thoughtful attempt at resolution than anything we received from the manager. We gave up at that point with no refund of the charge and passed on the dessert. We ultimately left confused, uncomfortable, and feeling scummy about the entire interaction, which is disappointing because the food itself clearly has potential. Mistakes happen in restaurants; how management responds is what matters, and in this case, it was a complete failure. read more

This place is definitely on the fancy side. Came in on a late weekday for dinner and I had no idea that they had an indoor and outdoor seating option. They had live music happening which was cool. The menu is just one page so it isn't too overwhelming. Great selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. I ordered the ribeye steak. I ordered it to be cooked medium but I feel like it was cooked medium well, but even with that it was a very good steak. Great size, flavorful, tender and the chimichurri was a great touch. My blackberry haven mocktail was also very tart but yummy. The desserts surprised me, it was by far the best items on the table. Service is great, but we were surprised to be charged a kitchen fee, which I've never seen. All in all, the food was great, a little pricey, but I would return to try other things. read more

We had dinner at Wildwood Restaurant and I want to start by saying the food was absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious, well prepared, and clearly made with high quality ingredients. You can tell the kitchen really knows what they're doing. The only issue we experienced was with our server's understanding of the menu. When she explained the specials, the description wasn't even close to what was actually served. For example, she described one dish as a half chicken with tomatoes, cucumbers, and balsamic, but when it arrived it didn't include any of those things. We also asked several questions about the menu and ingredients, and she seemed pretty confused and wasn't able to give clear answers. I normally don't like leaving anything negative in a review because the food truly was fantastic. My only suggestion would be for the staff to become a little more familiar with the menu and the specials so they can confidently explain dishes to guests. Overall, incredible food, but a little more menu training for the staff would make the experience even better. I would definitely come back for the food. read more

Came here for a bday brunch and everything was outstanding. There were a lot of us and everyone pretty much ordered something different. I only heard good things from everyone except the pork belly fried rice. They said it wasn't tasty and was mushy. Resembled more of a risotto. I personally tried the grilled chicken sandwich with fries which was excellent! Great taste and the chicken was very juicy and tender. I also had an old fashion (amazing), regular mimosa, and the lavender lemonade. I didn't taste much lavender but my friend said they did, and personally it was too sweet for me, but still pretty good. The crab and artichoke dip was decent but I do think it's overpriced for the amount given. The restaurant as a whole is really gorgeous! There seemed to be a lot of seating and tons of outside seating as well with warmers and an area with a small fire pit. Parking seemed pretty packed given that there are a lot of other good restaurants in the area, but most of us easily found parking. There are two entrances which is a little confusing. Google maps took me to the back entrance. But it was fine. Now, our server - I believe her name is Alicia, wow - she was amazing!
