This place is amazing and so unassuming. Dare I say the best spot for tacos in WA? It's a perfect stop after Roozengarde or a pumpkin patch day. We ordered asada and adobada tacos along with a medium horchata to share as an afternoon snack. We didn't order too much at first since we had dinner later, but the asada tacos were incredible. I've driven past this sweet little family-run restaurant more times than I can count, and finally stopped in this week as I was having some major Mexican food cravings after eating soft foods the past two weeks (thanks, dental issues). The dude and I arrived around 1pm on a Sunday. We ordered at the counter and we pleasantly surprised to learn we could also purchase beer from the mini-mart side of the store and they would pour it into a couple of nice, frosty mugs. While we sipped our negra modelo, the food arrived. The dude got a 3-taco combo with carne asada, and I got a quesadilla w with carnitas. It was all delicious. I can see why this place is so popular! So, let me say this, I love Mexican food, I would repeat it but you get the point. This food is the real thing, we had the carne asada and pollo plate, and the carne asada was soooo good and tender, I cannot express how yummy it was. The rice was unbroken, which is rare, beans delicious, and their medium sauce was perfect, warm but not too much. Service was incredibly quick, and there were seats, this was a tienda as well. You always know food is authentic when people are hanging out to keep eating. My husband and the shared a plate, and we both had two large tacos, with a bit left over, which I scarfed down. It's nice walking into an establishment seeing a smile and dealing with someone who appreciates your business. We are repeat customers for a reason. More importantly, the food is amazing! I've spent dozens and dozens of weekends over the years at Mt. Vernon and never knew about this place, and now I'm kicking myself for all those lost years. Plain, simple, cheap, authentic and flavor bombs. I got a bunch of tacos here and boy was I blown away. Carnitas - This was probably my least favorite of the lot. They are good, nice and juicy, but lack the flavor punch that the others had Veggie - Super loaded with lots fo fantastic veggies, guac and sour cream with rice and beans and fajitas, 2 tacos will completely fill you up along with the sides Asada - Very generous portion of perfectly grilled steak on street tacos. The meat in itself is super flavorful; toss on the salsa roja and it is elevated up a couple of notches. Shredded Beef - Now ignore everything else I said above and just order a dozen of these and then die happy. Honestly these are by far some of the best shredded beef tacos I've ever had. The meat melts in your mouth, the sauce it just heavenly and everything just comes together brilliantly. If you like it spicier, the salsa roja is the perfect accompaniment. I can't recommend this place enough .I will definitely be stopping by here very regularly to get some shredded beef tacos every time I'm in the area next. Actually looking forward to it. read more

Fortunately, we spotted this place on our drive to Roozengaarden. The parking lot is tiny, and hard to maneuver, but other than that it is conveniently located. I ordered three chicken tacos which were incredible, authentic tacos. I honestly could have eaten twice as many; not because they're small, but because they're delicious. My spouse and I really enjoyed the 7 Mares soup/stew, tacos con lengua, and bunuelo - dishes that we rarely see on the menu. All were delicious and well-priced. We purchased a bag of home style chicharrones from the grocery part of the store, and the owner brought out a selection of sauces for dipping -- all fresh and flavorful. We liked the avocado sauce so much, we asked to purchase a quart to take home with us. If in the area, definitely worth the trip . . . so long as you are OK with a basic but clean setting. This is a mini mart, so we weren't sure what the quality would be. Walking in, we entered a new world. So many imported treats from Mexico! The food menu was extensive, the staff were nice, and the food is absolutely delicious. We highly recommend stopping there. The only downside was that they use styrofoam, but that can be easily remedied if you all start going there and they can buy more sustainable packaging with their profits. read more
