I've driven past this sweet little family-run restaurant more times than I can count, and finally stopped in this week as I was having some major Mexican food cravings after eating soft foods the past two weeks (thanks, dental issues). The dude and I arrived around 1pm on a Sunday. We ordered at the counter and we pleasantly surprised to learn we could also purchase beer from the mini-mart side of the store and they would pour it into a couple of nice, frosty mugs. While we sipped our negra modelo, the food arrived. The dude got a 3-taco combo with carne asada, and I got a quesadilla w with carnitas. It was all delicious. I can see why this place is so popular! It doesn't have a lot of great ambiance (more of a lunch counter vibe), but what it lacks in charm it more than makes up for in delicious eats, fast & friendly service, and getting the chance to support a true, family-run operation.

When your #workbestie suggests a taco spot, that's INSIDE a grocery store, you gotz to go check it out, yeah! Our fave is Taqueria Mini Mart Mi Cocina (), in Mt. Vernon, WA and they have some bomb ass food! We try to order different items, but their Tacos and Quesabirrias ALWAYS hit the spot! While I prefer #Horchata , with my food, it's also super convenient to just go to their beer case, grab a six pack and enjoy it with your delicious meal! Everything about this place is great ~ food, service and cleanliness! Hope you go check them out! #TaqueriaMiniMart #MiCocina #MountVernonWA #tulipcountry #SkagitValley #localgem #tacostacostacos #minimart #supportlocal #supportsmallbusiness #PassportToGoodEats

Trust me when I say this is good Mexican food! My first time trying it & the food did not disappoint! I got the taco combo and the chicken tostada. DELICIOUS! Who knows when I'll be back again, I was visiting the area for a couple days all the way from LA! ALSO GREAT SERVICE!

in addition to a good selection of beverages and snacks, this unassuming little corner market is home to an amazing, authentic Mexican kitchen! They have a large menu of traditional dishes ranging from tacos and burritos to soup and other flavorful dishes - offering a wide selection of meats and topped with homemade hot sauces. The market is owned and run be a local family. The kids work the counter, the father manages and I believe the mother cooks. Everything is delicious and fairly priced. The restaurant has tables, chairs and booths for dine-in. They're open until 8pm, making them a great option for both lunch and dinner. My favorite is the Burrito Linda with birria. My husband likes the Burrito Linda with the fried pork. I top mine off with their homemade chipotle hot sauce, which is the perfect balance of flavor and heat. They also offer a habanero hot sauce that really packs a punch!

So, let me say this, I love Mexican food, I would repeat it but you get the point. This food is the real thing, we had the carne asada and pollo plate, and the carne asada was soooo good and tender, I cannot express how yummy it was. The rice was unbroken, which is rare, beans delicious, and their medium sauce was perfect, warm but not too much. Service was incredibly quick, and there were seats, this was a tienda as well. You always know food is authentic when people are hanging out to keep eating. My husband and the shared a plate, and we both had two large tacos, with a bit left over, which I scarfed down. So much food for the price. Great stuff!! Can't wait to try more sauces, and other food.

This place is consistently good. They care about providing good service, clean atmosphere and quality food. It's nice walking into an establishment seeing a smile and dealing with someone who appreciates your business. We are repeat customers for a reason. More importantly, the food is amazing! Carne Asada tacos are excellent served with grilled marinated onions, lime and radish. Everything tastes fresh and well seasoned. Chicken quesadillas are excellent and tostadas are one of my favs. I posted an updated menu for pricing. And a quick note, slow down on that farm road or you could miss it. Just order its worth it!

Great little family run Mexican grocery bodega and taqueria. We were in town for a wedding and stumbled upon this place near the Airbnb on the way out of town. The carne and lengua tacos were both great, and the pozole was hearty and delicious! Will definitely stop in again next time i'm in Mt. Vernon, cheers!

In the area and chose it based on the reviews. Friendly folks and appears to be family run. We ordered the taco combo plate with one each pollo, asada, and adobada taco + rice and beans. Food was excellent and the tacos were full. Definitely worth stopping in for a bite to eat if you want some home cooked Mexican food.

The first time my wife and I came in, we shared the fajitas and they were absolutely incredible. Everything was full of flavor, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Their homemade beans alone are worth talking about -- seriously some of the best I've had. We came back again today and I tried the enchiladas with the creamy poblano sauce... and wow. Hands down the best enchiladas I've ever had. That sauce was rich, flavorful, and something I'll definitely be coming back for. On top of the amazing food, the customer service has been top notch both times. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and really makes the experience even better. And I can't forget the real fruit coconut margarita -- absolutely to die for! Fresh, beautiful, and just as good as it looks. This place is officially one of our favorites. Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing people. We'll definitely be back!

We were seated quickly in the bar area which was much quieter than the main dining area, the decor was simple but on point and all the tables had little tulip arrangements. Our server was prompt and made excellent recommendations. I got the crispy tacos (YUM) and my husband got the enchiladas with the green sauce, the sauce was to die for! Will definitely keep this place in mind when we are back up in the area.

Two salsa bottles (salsa verde and a smoky salsa) were brought to the table. - Agua de horchata ($2.50 USD small) - good but they added a lot of ice. - 2 Enchiladas & 1 tamal combination platter (#3) ($14.99 USD) - tamale was good, enchiladas were bland. Rice wasn't hot; tasted like it sat in the warmer for too long. - Lengua en salsa verde ($16.99 USD) - beef tongue was tender and sautéed onions were nice but tiny portion. We tried to share menus for a few minutes, but then decided to ask for another menu since there were two of us. We ordered combos and added a grande taco which is made with a handmade tortilla so that was exciting. FYI there's not chips and salsa here like most of the Mexican restaurants. The food was delicious. Service was OK. The prices are very reasonable. It wasn't too much food which is great! No need to take leftovers home that might go to waste anyway. I'd rather have the low prices. It appeared clean inside. Dated interiors. Large women's bathroom. It's kind of a strange layout and when standing out front, looked more like apartment doors and the open sign was off. Thankfully they had a small sign next to the right door that had their hours written on it and were open.
