This restaurant is located off of Division Street, a major arterial in Mt. Vernon. There is a small parking lot with limited number of spots in front of the establishment. Once inside, customers order at the counter and then the servers bring out the food. I tried their tacos and Camerones combo dish. Both tasted a bit too oily for my taste. I'd do 6 stars if I could. Seven even. Got a quesadilla, an enchilada, a burrito, some tacos, and every damn thing was amazing. We ate everything. Plates empty. Every stomach full. So fresh, so flavorful, not fatty or heavy, I wish I lived closer to here so I could visit again. But this is genuinely some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. My Mexican friend said "this is the best chile verde I've ever had." Also, staff is just super kind and friendly. I've got some food sensitivities and they were like "order whatever, we can accommodate no onions." And not an onion was seen. The front cashier was telling us that this is all her mother's recipes and you know what, her mom has really good food. Top tier. I don't have enough kind words to say about this place. Delicious fresh made Mexican food that really hit the spot for us on our way to Anacortes. My honey got the fantastic Chorizo breakfast burrito and I had the pork and salsa verde (wet burrito) with added lettuce and tomato. Service was pleasant and you clean up after yourself. The Horchata was sweeter than we usually experience but still refreshing. Will definitely plan to stop by again. read more

Coming from San Diego I wasn't sure how the Mexican food would be here. But I was incredibly impressed and they have me coming back for more. From the flavors of the salsas, to the customer service, and the quality of meats I was so happy. We ordered the carnitas burrito and it was so delicious! Very very flavorful, the meat was perfectly cooked and topping it off with both salsas enhanced the flavor which it didn't even need. But oh my goodness I could have drank those salsas! This is one of those little hole in the wall places attached to a gas station that is an absolute must try. This is my second time here for breakfast. Today we had the Dona Loisa with rice added. Let me just say there isn't a breakfast burrito I have ever had that comes close in Mexican goodness as this one! One burrito cut in half is plenty for two if you aren't a big breakfast person. That makes getting a great tasting breakfast for two for under 15 bucks including tip. Amazing value. The service has been great both times and I really like their salsa verde, but the red salsa is no slouch! I cannot wait to go back and try their lunch/dinner menu. My husband just took me here for the first time. I can't believe he's been holding out on me. I grew up in Southern California and haven't had good chilaquiles in so long. Every thing we tried was fresh and the staff was really nice. The fridge stocked with Mineragua and what looks like a great Michelada mix. This bright and cheerful cafe is attached to the Shell station but is a far cry from being a gas station eatery. Black and white checkerboard floor, with grays and yellows. Very friendly hostess/waitress speaks perfect English so I did not experience the "language barrier" mentioned iearlier reviews. A few Jarritos for soft drinks, but you can grab whatever you want to drink at the attached c-store. I had a coffee (served in a festive glass) and hubs grabbed a Diet Coke from next door. We were passing through MV around 6:30am on a Monday and Yelp! Reviews led us here. We both ordered Heuvos Nopalitos - eggs, chorizo and onions with a side of beans. Choice of corn or flour tortillas. Wow! Deliciousness! Didn't see any onion, but instead there were mild chiles. Plenty of food. My only complaint is that the beans were a bit cold (cheese garnish on top didn't melt). Maybe they were played before the eggs? Anyway, the eggs were fantastic and we'll be back!! The sauces had a ton of flavor and a little heat (although I love my food ridiculously spicy so it was mild to me) and the the carne asada was perfectly seasoned, not fatty and cheap like the other spots around here. Went here after our tulip visit because it looked good. This place was packed and was for 1 second thinking of leaving . Glad we didn't because the food was fresh , good and beautifully presented. It was also super yummy. I would totally come back over and over. The food came slow but I think because they were busy and super not ready for all the tulip visitors. Wow, this is worth a drive. We were close by and hungry and took a look at the menu. My wife from Mexico City was excited. There are few decent Mexican restaurants in the Puget Sound. This place can be added to that list. The masa fresca quesadillas are amazing, simply the fact that they have masa fresca is amazing, but then add the right toppings and----WOW. Can't wait to come back. Came back on our way south and had lunch. Again fantastic. Some of the best Mexican food in the State, and we are thinking it might be worth the drive from Seattle just to eat here. read more
