3 tacos (pollo, carnitas, al pastor) and rice and beans
    Sharon L.

We had tacos three days in a row when we were in town and this place was by far the best! It is a little local taqueria but had a bunch of meat options for tacos. I had 3 tacos with rice and beans. I tried the pollo (there were two options and I chose the red one), carnitas, and al pastor. They also ask if you want cilantro and onions on the tacos. Everything I had was bomb - the rice and beans and the tacos. So so good. My favorite was the pollo - so flavorful and JUICY. I resisted the temptation to order another round after finishing my food. The people at the restaurant were also extremely nice. Some spoke English and others mostly Spanish, but everyone was friendly and extremely patient. Big thank you!!

I love a good hidden spot, here is cash only. Which is no problem for me. It appears to be family and friend owned. Don't be concerned if you are in able to speak or read Spanish follow your eyes and heart you won't be disappointed. Today I loved my sides for sure. Best refried beans, and rice also you get a potato too good. Every thing is well seasoned. I tried Barbacoa it was tender! The service is quick and kind. The place was clean and plenty seating to grab a tasty lunch. I will be back

We have been coming here for over 20 years. This place is good. They have chile rellenos and mole on Fridays. Small business with great food.

2 tacos of pork guiso (couldn't wait to taste it, sorry) on right, desebrada (shredded beef) in middle and nopal and beef stew on left.

Great Mexican taco shop. Lots of choices of meats. I did Pork guiso, desebrada and a nopal mix. Appears to be a family business and everyone was very friendly. Cash only so hit the ATM before you come. 4 corn tacos, rice and beans and a medium lemonade =$11.

    Beef flautas!

The flautas and the barbecoa tacos are phenomenal. You can try almost anything they serve and not be disappointed. The price is excellent

Hands down the best tacos I've ever had! Although I love my gas station tacos just like every other person in dallas, this place has the best variety, quality, authenticity, and value. The place gas been around since 1969 and the generous and friendly staff, speedy service, and lots of seating as well as to-go, make it the perfect place for lunch or dinner. The lengua tacos were just about the most amazing thing I've ever tasted and their spicy salsas are through the roof. 9 tacos, rice, beans, and a large Limon agua. Made our first Monday in east Dallas, perfect... the best part.... It only cost us 17 bucks! This will be our new weekly spot. Hands down. If you don't try try this place, you're a damn idiot. Open late. Cash only. Get ready.

So many places claim to have street tacos, but Taqueria Pinocho actually has legit, authentic, delicious street tacos. Their tacos are made to order, the meats are full of flavor and their salsas... oh my those salsas are amazing! Sure, Taqueria Pinocho isn't on "the best part of town" but they serve THE BEST TACOS IN TOWN!! *** Downside -- They only accept cash! *** Bonuses: -- They are open until 3AM on weekends, great place to go after a night out!! -- The walls are covered in fun photos and murals of Aztec gods -- Grilled onions and aguas frescas

Best TACOS ever. I wasn't sure what to expect, but left with a new favorite place to eat. The taco meat is in a display, and I wasn't sure if it would be dried out/ old but the meat was fresh and hot/warm. I got a few tacos and the rice. The rice was the best I've had in forever! Also, a large drink is only $2. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here. Absolutely the best. **Insider tip: They even have lamb meat tacos!

Since the weather has been so nice lately, outdoor seating is super popular, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. Even though we didn't have one, they were still able to accommodate our group which we really appreciated. The service was amazing...everyone was so polite, attentive, and fast. The drinks were delicious and the food came out surprisingly quickly as well. They also offer valet, but if it's packed, there's parking across the street too which was convenient. Highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner during the weekend. We'll definitely be coming back again!

The location is super cute and always packed. You definitely need a reservation or have to go super early to get a spot. There is valet parking as well as street parking, which can get a bit crowded. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We also order the ceviche to start, which was yummy! The crackers were a bit of an odd pairing for me and I stuck with tortilla chips, but overall delicious!! My friend ordered the steak quesadilla and thought it was tasty too.

We hung out comfortably and had a couple of drinks before heading out. The food is amazing!! Obviously every dish is meat based here and it's cooked to perfection. Seasoned deliciously and very tender. The garlic mashed potatoes were smooth and tasty. We also ordered Chicharrónes and guac. I'll admit I was very skeptical about The Chicharrónes because they're either cooked right or they're not. They got it down here. Everything was cooked exceptionally well and delicious. 10/10 recommend. Food and drinks are great!

Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
