This is quite the authentic dive of a taqueria. The walls barely have any decorations, telamundo plays on the TV, and all the workers are alive and buzzy in their conversations. They speak a surprisingly good amount of English. I still used the opportunity to practice my espanol, but it was nice they spoke english when they asked more complicated questions. I ordered a variety of different tacos and all of them were quite satisfying. They meat is premade and sitting in the steamer, so dont expect made to order meats that are grilled or from a trompo spit. They could have given me more cilantro and onions, but otherwise, i was quite happy with what I ordered. They even offer some more unsuaul cuts like buche (pigs stomach) and higado (liver). They plaster signs everywhere that its cash only, so be warned if you dont already have cash coming in. read more

We had tacos three days in a row when we were in town and this place was by far the best! It is a little local taqueria but had a bunch of meat options for tacos. I had 3 tacos with rice and beans. I tried the pollo (there were two options and I chose the red one), carnitas, and al pastor. They also ask if you want cilantro and onions on the tacos. Everything I had was bomb - the rice and beans and the tacos. So so good. My favorite was the pollo - so flavorful and JUICY. I resisted the temptation to order another round after finishing my food. After a night out in Dallas, I proclaimed to my friends I want tacos. We looked up the closest taco joint to us and stumbled across this gem. When you first walk in you see a large board with an assortment of meat options and dishes. Then you look down, and see the MEATS. This place had a GIGANTIC supply of meats for you to choose from which are all on magnificent display. My favorite was that some of these meats, you don't just get at your regular taco restaurant or taco truck! The person helping us was very sweet, and let us try anything we wanted or asked about. I was rolling with my friend and her brother and we ordered a total of two taco plates and four tacos for a total of $13! I'm the stingiest person to probably be on Yelp, and If you can't say this total isn't affordable prepare your face for the slap I'm about to lend to you! The customer service was outstanding. I have been going here since 1985 and they have the BEST tacos de Tripas from New York to Miami to Dallas! NO one compares to their tacos de tripas. Not to mention they have great aguas frescas try their Melon agua fresca or Pina they are delicious. However, lunch time can be a bit busy but its well worth it. Now if you have tons of people to feed you can get like 20 tacos for $20... roughly, that is a great deal to feed lots of hungry mouths. Plus the service is great it doesn't get any better. This is the definition of a hole in the wall type place. Sketchy looking part of town, yet relatively close to downtown Dallas. The tacos al pastor are amazing. Hands down worth the drive for. The restaurant has a variety of meats ready to go similar to a cafeteria line in school. They ask you what you want and then they cut it up in front of you. It's pretty cool. Corn tortilla tacos are $1.10 each. Flour tortilla tacos are $1.60 each. One of the few bad things is that they only accept cash. So make sure you make a withdrawal from the ATM before coming in. East Dallas classic. This place is cash only. Like most places that I've been, cash only usually means it is good. I've been coming here since I was a kid. The carnitas(or fajita) sopes are amazing. They make something so simple absolutely delicious. I highly suggest the sopes if you want to try something besides the tacos, which are pretty good as well. Also make sure you use salsa verde for the sopes! The place could best be described as a hole in the wall. It's not flashy, or has a vibe. It's just about the food, but there are some Aztec looking murals on the walk that have been around since the 90's. Staff is friendly enough.
