Best taqueria! The bistec, lengua and barbacoa tacos are delicious. Cashier is always nice. She's been there 30+ yrs.

I love a good hidden spot, here is cash only. Which is no problem for me. It appears to be family and friend owned. Don't be concerned if you are in able to speak or read Spanish follow your eyes and heart you won't be disappointed. Today I loved my sides for sure. Best refried beans, and rice also you get a potato too good. Every thing is well seasoned. I tried Barbacoa it was tender! The service is quick and kind. The place was clean and plenty seating to grab a tasty lunch. I will be back

We have been coming here for over 20 years. This place is good. They have chile rellenos and mole on Fridays. Small business with great food.

2 tacos of pork guiso (couldn't wait to taste it, sorry) on right, desebrada (shredded beef) in middle and nopal and beef stew on left.

Great Mexican taco shop. Lots of choices of meats. I did Pork guiso, desebrada and a nopal mix. Appears to be a family business and everyone was very friendly. Cash only so hit the ATM before you come. 4 corn tacos, rice and beans and a medium lemonade =$11.

The flautas and the barbecoa tacos are phenomenal. You can try almost anything they serve and not be disappointed. The price is excellent

Hands down the best tacos I've ever had! Although I love my gas station tacos just like every other person in dallas, this place has the best variety, quality, authenticity, and value. The place gas been around since 1969 and the generous and friendly staff, speedy service, and lots of seating as well as to-go, make it the perfect place for lunch or dinner. The lengua tacos were just about the most amazing thing I've ever tasted and their spicy salsas are through the roof. 9 tacos, rice, beans, and a large Limon agua. Made our first Monday in east Dallas, perfect... the best part.... It only cost us 17 bucks! This will be our new weekly spot. Hands down. If you don't try try this place, you're a damn idiot. Open late. Cash only. Get ready.

So many places claim to have street tacos, but Taqueria Pinocho actually has legit, authentic, delicious street tacos. Their tacos are made to order, the meats are full of flavor and their salsas... oh my those salsas are amazing! Sure, Taqueria Pinocho isn't on "the best part of town" but they serve THE BEST TACOS IN TOWN!! *** Downside -- They only accept cash! *** Bonuses: -- They are open until 3AM on weekends, great place to go after a night out!! -- The walls are covered in fun photos and murals of Aztec gods -- Grilled onions and aguas frescas

Best TACOS ever. I wasn't sure what to expect, but left with a new favorite place to eat. The taco meat is in a display, and I wasn't sure if it would be dried out/ old but the meat was fresh and hot/warm. I got a few tacos and the rice. The rice was the best I've had in forever! Also, a large drink is only $2. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here. Absolutely the best. **Insider tip: They even have lamb meat tacos!

Love the tacos here, especially the lengua. No frills atmosphere but great food. I always try to visit when I'm in the Dallas area.

I came in mainly to watch the game and have a few beers, but the service was so good you'd think I had ordered the entire menu instead of just casually committing crimes against the free chips and salsa. Honestly, if they treat a guy this well for drinking beer and demolishing complimentary chips, I can only imagine what happens if you actually order food. Definitely made me want to come back hungry. The restaurant seemed warm and inviting with all the natural light, but as the meal progressed, there were quite a few misses that degraded the overall experience here. First, they didn't really have much in the way of non-alcoholic drinks except for sodas, which I typically don't drink. I wanted a flavored lemonade or an agua fresca. The waiter said they had lemonade and they could add some mango flavoring, but when I go the drink, it was terrible. It was like a Countrytime or something to that effect. I couldn't taste the mango flavoring. The waiter was kind enough to offer to remake the drink when he realized I didn't like it, but it was the same again, so I gave up. It just tasted so artificial and gross. For my entree, I ordered an enchilada plate with scrambled eggs and potatoes. The first time it came out wrong. It was beef enchiladas and not the cheese that was listed on the menu. Then they brought out my plate again and it was now covered in queso. According to the menu, it was a cheese enchilada with chili con carne, but I didn't want to raise the issue. I was really hungry at this point and just accepted it. The food was okay...2 1/2 or 3 star territory. The restaurant itself was pretty cool. I like the location and the abundance of natural light, but the miscommunications with the kitchen and the generic lemonade drink exposed some real opportunities here.

The restaurant itself is always clean and orderly. And the staff is always friendly and efficient. My favorite go-tos are the Queso Blanco and the Chicken Fajitas. The Queso is second to none. The Chicken Fajitas always have a nice wood grilled flavor to them that is sure to please you! A few times I have made it to dessert, but not very often. My favorite dessert herebis the churros. They are delicious in their own right, but they also give you different dipping sauces like chocolate, caramel, or even a vanilla cream. They are served hot and fresh!

Rather than ordering à la carte, I chose the Elegante Experience, a four-course chef-curated tasting menu that concludes with dessert for $99 per person. The menu evolves with the seasons, allowing the kitchen to showcase its freshest ingredients and current specialties, so every visit has the potential to be a little different. For the quality of the ingredients, creativity, and execution, I thought it was an outstanding value. Every course was beautifully prepared and packed with flavor. Not a single dish felt like an afterthought. The house-made masa program and wood-fired cooking really shine throughout the meal, and it's easy to see why this restaurant has earned such a strong reputation. The service was prompt, attentive, and genuinely courteous without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere strikes a rare balance, it feels refined while still being warm, familial, and incredibly inviting. If you're ordering a cocktail, I highly recommend the El Dragón. It paired perfectly with the meal and is worth trying. I've uploaded several photos with this review be sure to flip through them to get an idea of just how beautiful the presentation is. El Carlos Elegante is one of those restaurants that reminds you a tasting menu doesn't have to be intimidating or overpriced. It simply delivers outstanding food, excellent hospitality, and an experience that feels well worth the price. I'll definitely be back.
