For the Taco Tuesdays, service where they go to you when the food is ready if one is dining for here, quality of their Al Pastor that actually has slices of pineapples with pork and having a salsa bar, it's a great taqueria for this area! We were craving tacos since we haven't had it for awhile and came here. The salsa bar caught me by surprise and adored their pico de gallo. They can offer more selections though, such as turnips, verde salsa and etc. They have weekly specials, such as $8 burritos choice of meat, on Mondays and 10 tacos for $10 Thursdays. Solid option for Mexican food in Rohnert Park. I've only been a few times, which included enchiladas and tacos, but each time it was not bad. When it comes to pricing, very fair and the serving size is on average for most other Mexican restaurants in the area. Inside seems pretty roomy, but I've only ever gotten to-go, so really cannot comment on dine in or service, so just a forewarning. All and all, I'd say the quality and taste is middle of the road, but a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars for me and would happily revisit if in the area. read more

We often get takeout from Sol Azteca and have always been greeted with great service and food. This weekend was my twin daughters' baptism, and we had Sol Azteca cater the after party for 12 adults- taco bar. The ease of placing the order was impeccable. The food was fantastic and even delivered at no extra fee. The prices were super reasonable. We had enough leftovers to send two families home with dinner, and also had leftovers for ourselves. Taqueria Sol Azteca was our go to spot for years but sadly over the past 6 -8 or so months every time we have ordered here we've been sadly disappointed. Whether our food order was wrong (this happens often actually), the food quality was below average and it didn't make us feel great afterwards. Honestly, the only positive thing I can say lately is the main girl in the front Cassandra, she is so nice and welcoming! One of the many taquerias I ate at as an SSU student! Taqueria Sol Azteca offers all the standard food items you would expect to find at a taqueria including burritos, tacos, chimichangas and more. The best deal they have are on Thursday where they have a deal where you can get 10 tacos for $10. During the school year, you can always find students ordering that. Service is always friendly and I've never a bad experience here. One thing I have yet to try is their hot cheetos burrito! Remember If you come on a Friday or Saturday, make sure you call ahead sometimes they run out of the delicious juicy flavorful Carnitas! One of my favorites is the Flaming hot Cheeto burrito with Carnitas! It's a Carnitas burrito filled with flaming hot Cheetos it is so Yummy, it too dang good! when I get a craving for spicy,crunchy,juicy carnitas this burrito delivers in a major way!! I know It sounds a little weird, but you will not be disappointed! Another favorite of mine is the chimichanga burrito with Carnitas, it has a creamy cheese sauce inside it is amazing! And they're huge my burrito usually will last me at least two days & completely worth the $9.00. They also have Pupusa's all kinds and with all the usual suspects but done well and fast. I came here years ago and thought this place was really good. Yesterday I got a chicken enchilada, regular al pastor burrito, and a chorizo burrito togo. They said it would be about 15 minutes and it took about 45min. I also was seeing multiple customers that ordered after me leave before me. I tipped 20% before they even started my food and I was very friendly. The enchilada sauce has no flavor. The chicken was practically minced. Again, the breakfast burrito had no flavor. I've tried so hard to love this place for one reason: They make a fantastic Chile Relleno. But everything else can't stand up to the competition. For one thing, the menu says combination plates come with sour cream and guacamole. It never does. Other nearby restaurants give you a little shredded lettuce and salsa salad, even when ordering ala carte. This place, you order an enchilada, that's all you get. Nothing extra. The chips are bland and stale. They're skimpy on the salsa. Beans and rice are nothing to write home about. Like I said, for a take-out place, you won't get a better Chile Relleno. They also make a decent shrimp enchilada. But if you want a good, all around enjoyable meal, where you also get what's promised on the menu plus some fresh extras, there are too many other local restaurants that do a better job. read more

Taqueria Sol Azteca is your fairly run-of-the-mill taqueria, blasting a menu of tacos, burritos, seafood, and more. I opted for a fish taco and a lengua taco on my visit. Both were good, though neither were spectacular. It was about what you'd expect from anywhere else, more or less. However, there were some positives which made the visit better than your standard taqueria visit, such as chips brought to the table with salsa (rather than not offering any or having chips left out), which was pretty good salsa, I'll add. The cashier lady seemed a bit rude. I walked in, smiled and politely said "hi" to her. She just stared at me with a slightly annoyed but mostly expressionless face waiting for me to give my order. Having been up in the Rohnert Park area several times over the years to visit my brother I have generally been underwhelmed by the taqueria offerings compared to what I'm used to. Well, finally I have found my spot! Thank-you Taqueria Sol Azteca for giving me a go-to taqueria. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome. The front of house staff was very upbeat and friendly. Marinated chicken? (not just dry grilled) - Got it. Black beans option? (not unheard of, but rare at most NorCal taquerias) - Got it. Mini burrito option in addition to Regular and Super? - Got it. Free chips? (no nickel and diming you for every little thing) - Got it! Man, this place ticked all my boxes. It was fairly priced and now lets get on to the taste - Hell to the YES. I got the regular marinated burrito with added Guacamole. Marinated chicken was flavorful, not too salty, tender, added Guac was chunky, not runny, black beans MMmmm, rice as well and ingredients proportion was right on.
