We are always happy when we eat here, especially now that they are adding more vegan options. When we quit meat and dairy, we used to have to ask to modify items (like order veggie enchiladas, with no cheese or sour cream, and I hate taking things off when it doesn't lower the price...), but now they have added some "Healthy Style" items that include a bowl of black beans, rice, and veggies, which you can of course add in some salsa to, and some guacamole. And the price is right! One of our favorite things about this place (other than the margaritas, and occasional live music) is they serve a bowl of refried beans in addition to a bowl of salsa for the chips. It's nice to have both! Especially when you come in starving, this helps keep you satiated while waiting for the food to come. husband and I have dinned-in at the Resturant and even ordered food to go. Never had issue before until today. The food was horrible and not eatable. We ended up throwing away the food and just making premade mash potatoes in the microwave. The chicken wasn't grilled it was marinated it was salty oily. And the bag said bbq chicken when I had just asked for plain grilled chicken. Had to move the bbq chicken and big slices of lettuce and pico de gallo to see if there was even any rice or beans to begin with.The tortilla for the burrito we ordered tasted like fish and the rice had a weird chewy taste. This Mi Pueblo in Cotati serves up some really good food. I decided to forgo the beans & rice and order the 3 styles of enchiladas with shredded chicken. I figured the corn tortilla was enough carbs. Man, they were delicious, stuffed with mild spice chicken, covered with mole sauce, a red sauce and a green sauce. I ate two and took leftovers home. Wait I jumped the gun, before we ordered our entrees the kind waitress brought over chips and a dipping bean salsa, that was so good too. My friend ordered tamales, they enjoyed them and it was a great presentation too. The restaurant is very large with many areas to be seated. It is beautiful inside with lots of Mexican colors, and incredible Catrina(Dia De Muertos) decor, it is clean and very welcoming. Our waitress was a mature adult like me and my friend. We stopped by on a Friday night. We were able to make a reservation ahead of time but it wasn't too busy when we got there. I opted for the chile relleno burrito which was really good! The cheese pulls were great and the rice, beans, and guac helped balance out the chili flavor. The portion size is massive and I was stuffed after only eating half. My first time coming here with my girl and she got menudo and I got albondigas it was pretty good. The carne asada azteca was pretty good but we should've gotten the arrachera oh well next time. We like how much space there was and the ambiance it was also not too loud and crazy nice Friday night dinner hit the spot. Mi Pueblo was never my go to and I hadn't been here in probably 10 yrs. It's my friends favorite place and why we ended up here. My husband kept saying how good the salsa was that was brought to us with warm chips and beans. I ordered the chile relleno and chicken enchilada combo. It came with rice and beans and it was the best chile relleno I've had. It was huge and I only made it that far and was full. I brought the enchilada home and it was stuffed with chicken and could be a whole meal on its own. Lavender margarita was light and flavorful, service was really good and it must be popular because at 5:30 on a Friday during a rainstorm it was packed with customers! I've always loved this place. Advocated it for such a long time. But after today I will not be returning. I ordered a Lengua burrito for lunch that not only tasted like the meat wasn't fresh (and I need to include that this isn't the first time time I felt this way) but this time it felt like there was hardly any meat and that I was eating sour cream, guacamole and rice. Needless to say that I paid $18 for this and when I asked if they had a lunch special the cashier was rude and seemed a bit annoyed by my question and why it was so pricey for lunch, she then proceeded to rush me out and i left shortly after I ended up taking about 4 bites into it and decided that I couldn't eat any more of it and threw it away. I would advise the restaurant to be thankful for their patrons who do come to support them and maybe consider the fact that in this economy they shouldn't be giving such an attitude. We came in on Sunday morning to have some lunch. Juan Francisco was our server, and he was amazing! He was really good at his job. Super nice, friendly, and attentive. I ordered my usual - shrimp tacos and my husband got a macho burrito. The shrimp tacos were outstanding - as always. I have learned that it's much better to eat them while you are here than order them to go. The tortillas become soggy by the time you get home, and the tacos start falling apart. I'm giving one star because there's no option to give zero. We would regularly dine or pick up food from here. The food is decent, nothing extraordinary, but good enough, so it was our nearby go to. Not anymore. Last Tuesday, my daughter and I went for dinner and had the misfortune of being stuck with the most incompetent waitress. The first sign was completely forgetting our drink order, needing to be reminded that we even ordered drinks well after we got our food, and even what they were(it was only two sodas). When it came time to pay the bill, I placed my debit card in the booklet along with the bill and she took it to the register. My debit card never got returned back to me. Somehow after my card was charged, it just disappeared. The waitress brought the bill back to me, but no card. When asked about my card she said she thought she had given it to me. I explained to her that she did not, as this was the first time she had returned to our table after taking my card. She was flustered, saying she had no idea where my card went. I told her what my card looked like and which bank it was from. She then brought me another person's card, totally different than what I had just described mine looked like to her(wrong color card, wrong bank) and asked if it was mine. I said no and she asked if I was sure. Now I was getting irritated. Of course I was sure that was not mine, and I was also concerned that she had no idea who's card belonged to whom. How does someone screw that up on the way to and from the cash register? To make matters worse, she seemed to not even really care and tried to pass it off as my fault. Seriously? She took my card, I even showed her on my bank app in my phone that my card had just been charged there, so it obviously made it to the register, but she didn't know where it went from there. The manager then came over to inquire about the problem and they both walked off, I assumed, to look for my card. During that time another waitress came by and told us that this particular waitress is a problem and always does stuff like this. How reassuring. My daughter and I went to the front of the restaurant, we passed our waitress, who appeared to no longer be concerned with the fact that she either lost my card, gave it to the wrong person, or maybe something else? She basically was done with us and had gone on to wait on another table. The manager was at the register and said the card was no where to be found, but that he'd call me later that evening to update me. So we went home, with no card, but before I left there I had gone into my bank app and "locked" my card. The next day I got out of work early and stopped by the restaurant, because I got no call the night before, and neither the manager nor our waitress were there. There was a waitress there (who said she also knew who our waitress was the night before, because "she's a problem"), and she got the manager on the phone to talk to me, who basically said "sorry, we don't know what happened or what you did with your card". I did nothing with my card, it disappeared after our waitress took it. As far as I knew, she was the last person to have it. And that's what really bothered me the most. No sincere apology for losing my card, no accountability on anyone's part there, no genuine concern or caring. Yeah, I won't be returning there to eat in the future, and in the meantime I cancelled my card, ordered a new one, and got a reimbursement from my bank atleast, for the money I wasted at that place. I would also like to add, if you've been there and you're missing your debit or credit card since, they have a stash of them in the register, under the cash drawer... the waitress that was there the day I went back got them all out for me to look at to see if my card was there. How does a place end up with so many people's cards in the first place? And how are they not concerned at all that one of their waitresses can't get orders straight and can't deal with customer's bank cards responsibly? And that she acts as if she couldn't care less that she's a problem? No excuses for that level of incompetence. read more

I love that this restaurant is so close I can walk to it. I wish their food was stellar, however it is not. I'd say the food I've tried over the years is rather mediocre. The shrimp taco salad contained large sized shrimp, however the rest of the salad was mushy. The drinks are decent though & there is a variety of margaritas to choose from. The service has always been quite friendly. I find the prices for what you get a tad high. The decor is colorful and festive. I did enjoy the complimentary two salsas & chips brought to the table. I was so hungry having skipped lunch and had 3 errands to run in Sebastopol area. Heading away from 116 to the 101 -your options run out, save for chains and fast food. My friend commented in a Huge Burrito we passed- i didn't notice but a lady with kids in the booth near us had my dream looking large flat tostada with the shredded lettuce! It was huge, yet thin and looked delicious, refreshing, light and fresh! Our dips with chips was a red salsa and a warm bean dip! So unusual but appreciate this unique combo~kind didn't want beans after having this!
