I used to eat here all the time. Tortas and super nachos were my favorite. Was driving by and decided to stop by. There was a hair in the nachos. The chips were stale. My torta was flavorless. Had tons of meat in it. Only had meat, lettuce, some sour cream and I found a couple tiny cut up pieces of tomato. Very disappointed and very sad. Will not be going here again. I got the nachos with al pastor and added refried beans. It was ok. Some of the al pastor was burnt on the edges and that lead to a bitter, burnt taste that was not enjoyable. I was really hungry and this place came as a recommendation from a person who resides here in Modesto as "the best Mexican food in the city"....um, first of all, this is not a city, it is a town. Secondly, the best? It is NOT!!!! The menu is huge and a little overwhelming when you first walk in. Take a moment to look it over. You can see directly into the kitchen and everything looked on the up and up. I was looking pretty hard to observe sanitary practices and I witnessed no infractions. The place did get pretty busy once we put our lunch order in. Food arrived in a timely fashion. My spouse ordered a chicken chimichanga and was disapointed. I ended up sharing my mediocre nachos since she was hungry and unhappy with the chimichanga that resembled a fried burrito. The salsa bar was ok. Tasted fresh and they had fresh tomatoes in the pico instead of canned tomatoes. That is the only saving grace to my nachos. I will not be back to this place and I don't recommend it. PLEASE READ!ALLERGY URGENT INFO!Do not eat here please I ordered two crunchy tacos and it states they only come with meat lettuce cheese and sour cream but when I got it it had also weird tomato sauce and guacamole which I'm extremely allergic to both guac and tomatoes, On top of the tacos being so soggy it was the most disgusting thing ever(I've attached photos) not one part of it was crunchy it was like taco chips being soaked in water. I called to ask them why there were items on the tacos that were not listed on the menu and I was having allergy attack due to the guacamole and tomatoes and she said "too bad" and HUNG UP. I called back asking why the heck I'm being treated in this way and she LAUGHED saying" too bad if it's that bad call 911 don't call us" I am just floored. So if you're allergic to anything double check your food because they like to add things in the food that's NOT listed on the menu. I WILL BE REPORTING THEM BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. You should not have to inspect your food to make sure there isn't items on it not listed on the menu. Someone could go into Anaphylactic shock. read more

For my money, the best taqueria in town. I regularly bring family here and they always rave...even the ones from SoCal. Tastes like a taco truck without having to drive to the crappy part of town. Family owned and always great tasting. I always get the super burrito with carne asada, but I've never had anything that was not superb. Meh. That pretty much sums up my food experience here. Me and the hubby just went here a couple hours ago, since Bella Italiana was WAY packed. Ordered the enchilada plate, which came with three enchiladas (we got chicken), rice, and beans. I think the rice and beans were the best part of the meal. The enchiladas were SOOOO bland. The chicken tasted like it was just boiled without any seasoning. The guac was nasty and runny. Wish they had queso fresco also. The salsa was also very tasty, but the cabbage dip tasted like straight jalapenos, which I didn't really care for. Chips were okay. All in all, I'm not really looking forward to my next visit here, if and when it happens. read more

They have great Mexican food for a low price. They also allow you to call in your order and when you get there all you have to do is pay and pick up your food. Just went and ordered the same Nacho Supreme we always have ordered here for years and they searved us a smaller round plate of nachos. They still have the same big oval plates they always have served them on. Yet when I went up and asked the heavy set lady atvthe counter said tbey had a small round pkate and a larger round plate and did not fix the order. What a rip off $10 for a smaller serving of nachos then what they have served for years. Never eating here again and strongly recommend everyone steer clear. Don't know if they have some new crappy management or what. There ad in the window sgows the big plate of nachos we have always ordered here. We feel very disappointed and very ripped off. Been going to the one on coffee for over 20 years, ever since I was a lower case g. At least once a week, sometimes twice, sometimes thrice. And every time I walk up to the counter that's been the exact same for 20 years they act like they've never seen me before. It's hilarious! The lady with the perma-frown is a joy and always friendly! The cooks and cleaning staff who stare at my girlfriend like they want to eat her instead of the delicious tacos and carnitas they make is just delightful and an experience I look forward to every time we go there. The super burrito would not be the same with out the stale chip basket. If you're lucky enough to find a giant flying bug in them then they taste even better. Chicken and carne Assad are delicious. My new favorite- fast, good, good for you and inexpensive. You can't beat that. The portions are amazing. The only downside is don't go before they close. They close at 10, we arrived at 9:30 and were told everything had to be to go. Presumably b/c the girl just finished cleaning the dinning room and was in a hurry to get out of there. Disappointing and frankly, pretty unprofessional but for a $1.80 taco I'll deal with it. Fortunately it was a warm night and we were able to sit outside.
