this is one of my favorite Mexican spots in the South Bay overall & for good reason-the consistency + quality of the food is unbeatable. service here is also incredibly nice, i like how they always reitereate my order just to make sure everything is correct. one of the things i feel is underrated here are the Quesadillas. i highly recommend ordering a Brisket Quesadilla (the meats here are so tender overall)! you also can't go wrong with the Tacos, although i do suggest ordering more than 2 as they are on the smaller side. for the tacos, i recommend Carne Asada & Al Pastor. FYI, Al Pastor comes w/ pineapples, but you can easily request it off if you prefer it without. the onions, cilantro, & radishes on the side complement the meats so well & i appreciate that they also double the tortillas, as they are generous with the portions they add. lastly, you have to get the orange sauce, definitely a welcome addition to any order & it has a bit of a spicy kick. only thing is that i wish they had some seating, but i tend to just eat my meals in the car or to-go my orders. definitely check this place out if in the Sunnyvale area! read more

I've been on a bit of a taco kick and have driven by this truck many times, but never stopped. I stopped by today and ordered 3 tacos- suadero, pastor and asada. My tacos were ready in a reasonable amount of time and were hot and to go orders come as a styrofoam plate covered in foil. All three tacos had flavors and moist meat, cilantro and onions. The al pastor was my favorite- but all three tacos were good. As some other reviewers have mentioned the tacos run a little on the small side, so keep that in mind if you are ordering for a meal, and not a snack. I did not have a good burrito and I found the tacos ok on my visit Their special Burrito Tarasco is a 2 meat super burrito with grilled jalapeños was probably the worst burrito I had. The two meats were nonexistent, rice was incredibly dry and undercooked and the salsa lacked flavor. Tacos were ok. I had a lengua and it had a strong livery taste and was super bland. The problem with Yelp is that one cannot give half stars for the reviews and Tarasco is such a case. I had a hankering for street tacos and this truck was near home. Based on the reviews I decide to give it a try. When I arrived at the gas station, there was only two people in line and they were already getting their food. The menu is simple so I ordered two carne asada and two el pastor tacos. I think they raised their prices from $2.00 to $2.50. My total was $10. It took about 5 minutes for my order to show up and I asked for the pink and green sauces. Once home I poured the sauces on each of the tacos and found that the pink sauce went very well with the el pastor tacos. The carne asada seemed to stand better sans sauce. The pink sauce (as well as the green sauce) had a mild kick to it (as compared to another taco truck where the pink sauce will put a dent in your throat) and which I liked because one can enjoy the taste of the sauce on the food and not be trying to quench the fire in my throat. Overall it was a solid 4.5 star taco truck that I will visit again should the opportunity arise. read more

The Tarasco Taqueria is parked in front of a gas station. This is my New Mexican spot when I crave a good burrito. The burritos are a great size. They have some places that you can eat them at the food truck but we usually bring home the food. The tacos were a little on the smaller size but the Chorizo is one of the best we've ever had. Don't knock it until you try it! This truck is parked at a Shell gas station, but makes really good burritos and tacos. The only complaint I have is that sometimes they don't roll the burritos tight enough so all the goodness inside the tortillas falls out. Their lengua is soft and carne asada is flavorful. Menu has standard Mexican fare and prices are reasonable. I've only tried their tacos and flavors were great. Asada: 3.5/5 finely cubed beef. Not flavorful on its own but great in a taco. Pastor: 4/5 my favorite. It has a bit of crunchy ends and pineapple on top. Suadero: 3.5/5 shredded beef that's been chopped up. It's soft and flavorful and tastes very similar to the asada. Tacos' not overflowing with meat so you can pick it up and it's not messy to eat. Comes with onions and cilantro on top. Tastes best with their orange sauce! Kept seeing this taco truck whenever I drive on Lawrence Expressway and the reviews for this place was nothing but positive ones. In addition, the price for a taco is only $2 which is considered very cheap so I decided to try this place out. Honestly, these tacos are not very filling. I usually order 4 wherever I go and I will be stuffed. However, I had a lot of room left. They also don't give a lot of cilantro and onion. They do however give a good amount of lemon and the radish is good. As for the protein, you can pass on the asada and tripas. The asada had a very chewy texture and tripas were very small. However, i was surprised by how good the pastor, lengua, cabeza, and suadero tasted. Many places don't do a good job on these items but this place did well. For the salsa, definitely get the green. You can skip on the infamous orange sauce everyone talks about in the reviews. I didn't find this sauce any good. It in fact overpowers the protein that you can't really enjoy the whole flavor of the taco. This place is also pretty cheap when you ask for more salsa. I ordered 10 tacos and they only provided 2 green and 2 orange salsa. When i asked for more, they told me to pay $25 cents (per cup). They also don't fill up the whole cup. It was like half full. The asada was well-seasoned but chewy. I had to shake my head like a dog to rip some bites off. The pastor was a bit dry, however the pineapple helped to compensate. The suadero was pretty good but nothing mind-blowing. The cabeza and lengua were my favorites here - very tender and flavorful. But the tripas was a tad overdone and some bites were just way too hard on my teeth. Portions on the meat and salsa are pretty stingy. Normally 5 tacos from most other places fill me up, but I was still pretty hungry after eating 6 from here. Also, we were given only two tiny cups of green salsa (each cup was half filled and barely even enough for just TWO tacos) even though we ordered over 10 tacos! When we asked for another cup, we were told it'd be an additional charge. Wow.. never been treated like this at any other taco joint, so it was sorely disappointing. Luckily the prices are relatively cheap, but the quality is overall mediocre and the portions are kind of a joke. My coworkers knew I loved that burrito because they did not hear a peep from me the whole time I was eating. I've visited Tarasco Taqueria a few times since writing my review and I'm happy to note that their truck still serves great mexican food at inexpensive prices. I've gotten burritos and tacos from them so far. I was impressed by the asada burrito. The burrito is stuffed well and I think the ratio of each ingredient is perfect. I like that they didn't skimp on the cheese and the asada meat is delicious. I also enjoyed having their spicy salsa to use. It really hits the spot. I also had three tacos recently as well. I got the brisket, asada and al pastor. I think the brisket (suadero) is the most flavorful of the three meats that I tried. Overall, I recommend coming here when you're in the neighborhood and during both of my recent visits, I got the food to go. It held up great. :) read more

Do not come here. I just don't understand man. Like many trucks in the Bay Area, the burrito fell apart instantly, the meat was lukewarm and pretty hard, which I do not like. Asada and pastor were very, very underwhelming. Both were dry, chewy and flavorless. Also what's this difference where every taco truck in LA shaves their Pastor off the spit (so so good, moist & tender) and everywhere here in Bay just gives it like typical chopped up meat (leading to tough bits to chew and waaay less flavor & tenderness) Honestly Bay Area food as a whole is ROUGH. Brisket tacos. Never found these anywhere else. Delicious; the brisket has a stronger beef flavor and the texture of stringy soft beef with small chunks of fat in it.
