Out of all the Targets I have been to, this location in particular is my favorite one! Just by observing the exterior of this Target, you already know that this store is super nice! Parking isn't bad and the palm trees never looked so good next to a Target! When you walk in, I like how there is a line of clean and sanitized carts placed next to one another, very organized! Comparing to other Targets, this is my first time seeing one with an elevator/second floor and many options for everything. The only thing that I'm not too fond of is the long lines. This is a target, not my favorite because prices do seem to be a touch higher, but they usually have what I want. I know that they will have it and sometimes, paying a bit more, saves a trip. The worst thing about this store is the location. It's quite strange and hard to get to, but I'm glad when I go. They have recently moved departments around and I wish they would have let us know somehow because the last few times that I've been there, I'm meandering because the departments that were upstairs are down stairs and sometimes they are in a different section of the store. I prefer to shop at the Pinole Target only because the Albany Target increases the prices on most items compared to what you can find online. The Pinole Target prices are pretty much on par to the online prices. Most people are in a hurry and don't have time to check the online prices. Be aware if your Target app is set to Albany, it will give you Albany prices. Supposedly, Target will not match Pinole prices but ask them to match the online price. I bought 5 items today from Albany Target and all 5 were cheaper online (saved $5). The Albany Target is clean so that's why I give it 2 stars. read more

Honestly if I could give zero stars I would! I would say that my recent trip to target was pretty awkward and just all around one of my worst target visits ever. I've been going to the Albany target since it opened and it's always been the best target by far! But ever since their remodel in 2022 I haven't gone much because they really took alot that made it unique out. So at My most recent visit yesterday evening from the second I walked in to the store with my bf we were being followed! Not once were we greeted or asked if we needed help but every aisle I went down the same associate was just there awkwardly walking around being aloof or just staring at random products... not doing anything it was just very lame uncomfortable and extremely rude. I needed new jeans and wanted to check out their selection but their clothing selection I think is really going down hill! Worse material and looks yet way more expensive prices that just don't compute. After trying out a few different things I found a couple that I liked but just wanted an opinion on them so as I'm showing my bf this associate comes closer to us than ever which I thought was super excessive we both just kinda paused and side eyed her like.... Can we help you? Anyways I was just over it by then and I'm not going to continue shopping if I'm being made to feel like I'm some kind of criminal so I walked to the registers which only 2 were open and waited in line to be wrung up when it was our turn this same lady walks up behind us and says very loudly in my ear to the woman ringing that she " was going to go on her last break now" like 4 times and her coworker just gave her I could care less look and rolled her eyes. The associate then proceeded to just stand in line behind us on her phone leaning on the conveyor belt. Very very weird but maybe that explains why it was so dead in the store? I freaking love this Target! I discovered it yesterday and I want to keep coming back real soon... like today. I'm assuming that it's a Target Great Land even though it doesn't say that on the sign. It seems to have a much larger selection than other Targets in the area. I mean come on... now they have a wine and beer section? It seriously doesn't get better than that and let's not forget about the garden section too! I'm very excited that I can do all my shopping in one place. From drapes to patio furniture to ice cream to wine and basic home organization items you can't go wrong with coming here. This Target is the most neat and organized I've seen so far and they carry way more than just 2 of anything. For example when I went to the Target in Emeryville they only had 1 pack of curtains that I needed and that's it. So when I came here and found 3 of the same curtains I needed I was amazed. Anywho, in a nutshell I super duper highly recommend this Target above all other Targets so far because they are fully stocked and because the people here were very helpful and friendly. I love Targets in general, but this place astounded me (in a good way). Parking: A As per any Targets, there was always ample parking surrounding the building. Service/Staff: B- This was the one qualm I had with this Target; the staff were all over the place in regards to their knowledge of where products were located. I was advised three times before I found someone who knew what I was looking for. This was even after looking at their product locators. Cleanliness: A Super clean. And if there was a spill or something out of place, it appeared the staff was ready to get it organized and mitigated. So I needed some some briefs. a new microwave, herbs and stopped into Target on Eastshore in Berkeley on a Friday afternoon. This is a store I know from years of shopping. Still, some sections have been relocated. The store was busy but not crowded and has been spaciously reorganized. But the main improvement was that the multicultural staff was actually very helpful and steered me to all the right places. In the past, I had regularly encountered staff whose English was too limited to be helpful and/or sent me to the wrong aisle. This is a massive 2-story Target and you can waste a lot of time searching despite the beaucoup but at times obscure signage. Not today as all flowed well. One Target worker even checked via her stocking device to see if a particular advertised microwave model was in stock in the back room. This was a new service for me. Oh, and easy parking. read more

Ever since Albany Target had a remodel a few years back, I've stopped going because of how they took away many things that was interesting to men. No watches. No sunglasses. Where's the sports & camping? They used to have lots of flashlight. I guess they want you to be in the dark when the power goes out. No dvd. Instead of going every month, I go once a year & it's harder to find things after the refresh. And I am not alone, there's hardly any men here, they lost 50% of their business to focus only on women. I feel like there's no one working here except for cashiers! Finally when I found someone to look up an item she said "I don't think I have any in the back, maybe tonight so come back tomorrow" I asked if she could use her scanner to check for the item instead of guessing and she said she didn't have one. She had a radio on her hand and she could have easily called someone over. I asked someone else that had a scanner and she said she's not in charge of that area, to look for someone else, and kept restocking some items. It seems like some workers here are very LAZY and would rather say they don't have something vs checking for it in the back. Also, everything is out of place!! Nice sized Target off the free way in Albany. Plenty of items and everything seems to mostly be in stock. Some small gripes that is more of an opportunity is maybe adding another self checkout isle, more often than not the self checkout line will start wrapping around blocking the entrance to other check out lanes and it becomes a bit of a traffic jam. I come here to this Target regularly and recently came for a vaccine at the CVS Pharmacy. I was an hour late for my appointment but they did not bat an eye - I was helped immediately and kindly treated. (unlike other CVS locations where you can not hardly get a person's attention behind the counter). Overall, this store is reasonably clean and well stocked. Check-out is always fast. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for no-hassle returns. Parking is abundant and well lit. On another recent trip here a checker told me she recently transferred here from another Target location and was much happier with this one. This target is MASSIVE! It has everything you need (well, almost). I had two levels and I can stay there all day because I enjoy looking at all of the things they have. They also sell wine/alcoholic beverages which some targets do not. If you ever feel lost, I recommend using their target app and adding the specific address of the target to get to see the floor plans and you can even search for an item and they will show you which aisle that item is in the store. It is super helpful for a big store like this one. Something I wish they had was an ultra section, considering that they have two levels, I think this would be so good and a smart choice considering that it's near Berkeley and finding a ulta here is pretty hard. Love this target and I can't wait to go back once it opens again (it has been closed for a while due to a indoor fire indecent). read more

It's Target, it's good. Pretty much has everything I need including my groceries. Since I've been shopping at this Target I actually only go to the grocery store about once a month... if that. They've got good prices on eggs and wine. The cart escalator is kinda-cool, but a little annoying since people sometimes have a difficult time with it. I find it annoying enough that on crowded days I opt to not purchase the stuff I need on the second floor. Speaking of crowded days... the parking lot is rather chaotic on those days... Tried to get formula twice, each time I activated the sensor and waited, activating the sensor again every few minutes. Employees walking by, not helping. I don't know what it is about it - maybe it was that I came here for some move-in shopping right after arriving in California and was charmed by the huge palm trees at the entrance. It's a 2-floor store with a broad inventory/ selection of items for sale & the parking lot is a veritable ocean of asphalt. Based on that alone, there's 5-star potential with this Target. But, with all the times I've been here, service has been consistently apathetic. Hey, I get it. Working at Target doesn't generate cheerleader fervor. But acknowledging customers would be good. Especially since brick & mortar stores, including big boxes, are in a life & death fight with online retailers. That struggle was what brought me here most recently. Looking for some simple storage drawers, I found the exact same item on Amazon & Target's online store. With the provision that I pick up in store, Target actually outperformed Amazon with this particular item. So Target it was. But Target's real world side of the operation didn't hold up to the level of their online store. There was only 1 employee at the counter handling store pick up of online orders. & that person was noticeably slow & completely devoid of enthusiasm. For a moment it wasn't clear if I'd get help at all as I wasn't even acknowledged. I did eventually get my items in not too long, but this part of the purchase wasn't nearly as streamlined as online. So we braced ourselves and stopped. I was surprised. Despite the large crowd, we found convenient parking. The store was fairly neat, considering that crowds were roving down the aisles tearing stuff off the shelves as fast as the red polo shirts could restock them. The cart escalator was a blast.
