I love Target generally and particularly like this Target. This Target is relatively new so it's clean and bright. There's a ton of parking and even on Christmas Eve (when the store was crazy busy), there was still parking in the back. The store layout makes sense and aisles are nice and wide. The only downside is the two story layout with all of the housewares, furniture, sporting goods, electronics, etc on the second floor. If you've already been shopping and have a shopping cart, you can use the shopping cart escalator...which is generally operational but there can be a queue for the elevator if the shopping cart escalator is out of service. The service is on par with better Target stores and way better than your average big box store. read more

This has always been my favorite Target (and I go to targets from Sacramento to Gilroy on a regular basis). Between the great customer service and the selection of items - this is the spot. (One caveat is the crazy cart run that takes your cart up stairs while you ride the escalator is always broken. Or you put your cart in and it decides to just stop. You'd think they'd figure it out after all these years of breaking down ) All the areas in this Target have a much wider selection to choose from than the normal neighborhood Target. And while Emeryville probably has the same set up and selection as this one - Emeryville is so crowded at all times that it will give you a headache trying to shop. Also the parking at the Emeryville location is ridiculous. They need to switch parking lots with IKEA. Back to the Good Target ;). Today's trip was to take my daughter to show her how to make great meals without a lot of work. She's in medical school and loves to cook (if she fails as a surgeon she said she's going on MasterChef) but between school and work there is no time to cook. She's not a fan of fast food and gives the stink eye to frozen food. So we did a shop by thru the grocery section so I could show her how to hook up a meal that's fresh but can be done in a matter of minutes. She loves pasta, sauce and meatballs. But there is no time to make her own pasta. She doesn't have hours to simmer her sauce. And can't even think about making meatballs. So I showed her the fresh pasta already made in the fridge section her. Found some great organic sauce. Grabbed some fresh oregano, basil, onions and peppers to add to the sauce. And found some fresh premade meatballs. She could put it all on and have food within 30 minutes unlike the several hours it would take it she made it all from scratch. Uno has a great cheese pizza for only 7.99. She graded some different shredded cheeses, sliced meats and fresh veggies already cut up. All she has to do is throw it on top of the pizza and bake it. Ta da! I think because of the larger selection of food here she was able to grasp more how she can still have fresh,meals without having to sacrifice her time or taste. And to be honest. This is the only Target in the area that I get the warm fuzzies for and can go into the food area and find everything I want. When I hit up Pinole or Richmond Target , I end up still having to go to Safeway or Trader Joe's to get something. This Target always delivers. read more

I ordered a bunch of stuff from the Target App today and selected drive up pick up. The App specifically said that someone will bring the items to my car. However when I arrived I asked the young guys next to the pick up sign to bring me my order they said that I had to find a spot in the parking lot and walk in to pick up. I called the customer service and explained to them that I have a baby in the car who is asleep, so I really can't park and leave the car to pick up, and she said that they will send someone over. In the end the same guy who told me that I had to go in brought the order to me in less than a minute after I called. I wish he could just bring it to me in the first place. read more

It's still a bizarre concept to me to review places like Target. I swear I come to this place at least 1x a week (this is where professional women like me go to get her groceries) and it never occurred to me to write a review for this place. But then again, I can't even remember where I had dinner last night (without realizing that Seong wrote a review for it reminding me) so I have low expectations of myself. In any case, I live right round the corner from this Target and have been visiting it since it opened. I used to visit the one on San Pablo, but after a near death experience with a drive by shopping cart, I was estatic to find out they were opening a new Target by me - and 2 (TWO!!) floors no less! In any case, between then and now, the place has gotten progressively busier ... and sadly, but not surprisingly, messier. Nevertheless, it has the necessities, the tubs of wax, the cookie dough and a poor inventory selection of those Rafe bags I love. Other things to note: the cart escalators are always broken, they have a garden center (which I've never visited) and I wish they offered the wine cube sangria flavors year round (but I think it's only seasonal), I like the pizza hut here with the personal pan pizzas (they are actually quite tasty) and I think it's cute they have a Starbucks. The $1.00 section is cool, but now they are putting $5.00 things there, which is weird to me. Ha, who would have thought I'd have so much to say about Target. I guess it was all my pent up comments from shopping here for the past year! To note however, I visited just the other day and I think they are trying to improve the customer shopping experience. In the past, people ask to help you, but the 16 year olds with the hot pink 4 inch acrylic nails really have no idea in helping you find your stuff (and how the hell do you talk into a walkie talkie when you can't even press the button with those ridiculous nails)? But the other day, in walking 50 feet, I was asked by 3 people if they could help me (but since I'm a pro now - I didn't need the help), but they seemed much more genuine ... * Okay, I was kidding about the drive by shooting, but I grew up in suburbia and one of my earliest experiences at the San Pablo Target was some big old man saying "hey girl, you fine, you got a man?" - it scared me. read more

This is my neighborhood Target and I've been coming here ever since they first opened their doors. The location is a bit odd as its off the main street and next to the freeway so for first timers it might be tough. On the bright side there's never any problems getting in and out since the road leading into the lot doesn't have much traffic. The store is 2 levels which is great because I hate big stores where it takes all day to get from one side to another. It's always very clean, organized and we'll stocked. There's a Starbucks located right by the entrance which is great. One of the nicest Targets I've ever stepped foot in. read more

They never answer the phone. Never. Which is garbage when half the time items shown as "in stock" are not. Every other Target in the area answers the phone and will actually check the shelf if it seems like something may not really be in stock. This store is not even close to busy enough to justify not answering the phone. I've actually called and let the phone ring while I walk in and see people standing at the customer service desk doing nothing, and they still don't answer the phone. I've asked managers about it- before covid they said phone problems, during covid they said short staffed. What's the excuse now? read more

Why?? Because they have the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen in a store of any kind! Now maybe I was just lucky, but it was so clean when I went in that I even posted a pic. :) Also, they have the escalators (for people and carts) and elevators in the store, which is really cool. I'd normally give this store 5 stars because it's an easy store with nice staff. However the last few months there haven't been any checkers and the lines are so long I've abandoned my stuff and left a few times, or just turned around and left when I saw the lines. Yesterday one checker. Today the same. If it wasn't for the self serve they would have lost all their customers by now. There's actually more theft prevention folks than staff. read more

Target really gets 4 stars in my book, but this one is just a bit lacking. Sure, it's newer than some of the other Targets in El Cerrito, and the hours are nice (open until 11pm on most days). And sure, it has all the things I like about Target: 90-day return policy, cheap groceries, a full selection of toiletries, tempting discount fashions, and a fun $1 section. But, I just can't get past the fact that I can't find ANYTHING that I'm looking for in this store. Trash bags? In the pet section. Dish drying racks? On the second floor, in the back, next to the wall and the auto supplies. Tupperware? Split between grocery section, and small kitchen wares/ small electrics. Laptop wipes? I went to Target to buy a wireless charger for my phone last night. I was ithe only customer in the department. I stood in front of the sales associate in the front of the line in front of the cashier...behind the shield etc. The cashier did not even acknowledge me..he then got on the phone..Finally I just gave up and eventually figured out the question I had for myself. This young man has no business working as an associate at Target. Zero customer service skills. I will never go to this department in this particular Target again. read more

Whoever is "managing" this place needs to be immediately fired. I came here yesterday to buy a few items. I was on the second floor for over an hour and never once saw an employee not one single time not one single employee in over an hour. There was no one in electronics there was no one in the home department there was no one in the clothing department I don't know where all of the employees hide but I know for a fact in close to an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and 20 minutes I was not able to find one single employee. I could not get help with any of my questions I could not get help finding an item and I was also not able to purchase a few Apple products that I was there to buy. Why even have an electronics department that requires you to have an employee unlock the items if you don't have any employees present or working or not hiding..?? Whoever is managing this place has either absolutely no idea what's going on or they just don't care. I've been a manager of a retail store and a restaurant and how the manager here is unaware that there were no employees on the second floor available to help guests for over an hour is truly mind-boggling. Also I purchased a $82 linen duvet cover and when I got home I noticed the girl had not bothered putting it in my bag so now I spent $82 for an item that I don't even have. Ive been calling all morning and all afternoon to try to get a hold of someone and not one person has even bothered answering the phone not one single time. Seriously who is managing this place...??? How are they allowing this..??? Are they unaware of this? If so how? Do they just not care? Is there a manager? Smh. This place is HUGE compared to other targets. Or at the very least the ones I've been to. This is pretty much the only Target in Berkeley, which is pretty inconvenient because it's in Albany, and in a remote location. The fact that it's huge is basically it's only saving grace. It's also got an extremely expansive parking lot, which I'm pretty sure is barely ever used to capacity. I went a few days before Christmas and found parking EASILY. Other than that, it's a normal Target. It's not like pricing really changes from store to store. read more

This Target is conveniently located right off I-580 and I-80, and you can see it pretty easily from any point of the freeway. It appears to be one of the newer Target stores, and it has everything you need. Groceries, drinks, food, and health items are all on the first level while mostly clothing, housewares, and shoes are on the second level. Also, there is a Starbucks and Target Cafe. There are no self-checkout lanes as of July 2016, so be prepared to wait in some longer lines at the regular checkouts. read more

This target is more expensive than any other. Example 1: Vaseline 6oz Cool Aloe Lotion. Here it's 3.14, the Target in Pinole has it for 2.99 Example 2: Schick razors 4pack. 6.04 here. 5.96 at Pinole. Since becoming an avid couponer, I will go to the cheaper Target. I do prefer the newer feel of this one, but not worth paying for it out of my own pocket. read more

2 stories=more fun. Duh. This is my favorite target I've been to. I like the set up. They have a lot of selection. They have a lot of great parking. The workers have usually been pleasant. My only issue is that sometimes items have the wrong price or are under the wrong price label. For example, I bought a calendar and the tag said $6. When I looked at the receipt it actually cost $9! Little discrepancies. Consumer beware. :) The produce, teas, "grocery" items are limited, but they have a ton of reasonable items we take for granted :) Right now there's a boot sale for buy one get one 50%off! This 2-floor Target store has everything anyone could need. Yet I see all these 5-star reviews for this store in Albany, so the last time I went into this one, I went to every section to and tried very hard to accept it as a 5-star store. Unfortunately, it's just like every Target store I shop! I still wonder why is everyone so enamored with the cart escalator, as if its the 2nd coming of sliced bread. I guess using the elevator to move carts between floors was that big of a burden to some customers. Nonetheless, this Target has what I need when I need it. I come here for my basic needs and it's conveniently located near my workplace, so I come here before or after work, which is great! I plan to visit many times in the future, but please no more cart escalator compliments! read more

There is no Target around where I live. My friend just gave me a Target gift card two months ago. I went to Albany store just to use my gift card. I didn't check how much is my gift card before I checked out. I thought it would show the amount $ after they scan my card in the check out. After she scanned everything I bought, she told me the gift card only $15. I said, Are you sure ? I was thinking my friend won't be this cheap. I thought it would be least $50. And the cashier told she tried to scan 3 times already, it was $15. Okay ! And she asked if I wanted her to get rid of my gift card since it was already used. I said no, I want to keep it in case. ( it was still very hard to believe only $15 ? ! ) So I went back to my car and call the gift card customer service phone number to check my gift card. Automatic service said it was still $50 ! I was like how come ? So I went back to the store but not to the stupid cashier, I went to the return/ order pick up counter next to the front door and asked for help. The lady saw my receipt and said, No she didn't use your gift card at all here. I was very shocked, I said, Not even $15 on there ? She said No. So it meant she was Not only didn't use my gift card she even asked me if she could get rid of my card for me after ??? What the hack ??? The nice lady helped me to use my $50 gift card and she showed me the receipt now my gift card became $0. I was paying about $85 before after I paid $50 less. I was careless didn't check the gift amount before I used. However, I really don't know what happens to the first cashier who helped me ?! She should've known better than me, right ? Did she lie to me ? So if I have let her get rid of my card, would she use it herself ? It was no way she didn't know if my gift card used or not. She was the one who worked as cashier there. Not me. This was my first time ever used Target gift card. I still couldn't believe what had happened that night. If I had believed that cashier, I may have lost $50 and my friend would totally waste her $50 on me. I wish it won't happen to any one of you. This location is not clean or does it follow health guidelines. I purchased a carpet cleaner machine and when I got home to open the box there was dirty water in the machine! And hair! This happened on April 2 2022 I've tried to address with management and they have yet to contact me also I've reached out to corporate twice and still they've not addressed the issue of shelving dirty and used machines. Do not shop here if they do this on a normal basis then I can't imagine what they do with the food they sell. Dirty water in a machine is not even called for and is hazardous. I can't believe how pleasant the employees are at this location! The employees greet you make eye contact and even help you without you asking !!! I purchased a sweater that was on sale online but not ringing up that way in the store. The employee at the self help checkout honored it for me and was literally so pleasant and helpful about it all; I was left speechless! Virtually every target employee I have encountered outside of the Albany location has never honored sale prices or even said a polite hello ; it was so shocking to me .. when I move up here I will be only going to this location ; the worst is Oakland emeryville not only is not stocked with current items but the employees seem miserable and loathe customers .. it's insane how such close locations have polar opposite experiences. read more

Pretty decent Target. The parking is really vast and large. I had to grab some memory card so I went up to the second floor to grab it and just a friendly warning, for some reason there is no phone network past the door in this Target so I had a important business call and had to run down the escalator and get to the front of the Target to answer the call. Also their memory card area was empty and I don't mean like a little bit but it looked like one of those shelves you would expect to see at a going out of business store not at a Target. Look, motherfucker, I know that this is just a prettier Wal-Mart, but much like engaging in flirtations with extraordinarily unsuitable men, shopping here is intoxicating. Trust me - I am NOT an impulse shopper and I am not the kind of dumb bitch that says shit like "Shopping is a sport!" but you throw me in this place and it is OVER. I end up walking out with shit like bling for my cell phone. This may be the finest Target I've ever been to, with its awesome grey industro-chic design on the outside and it's spacious aisles on the inside. Extra points for witnessing a rite of passage as pissed off teenage girls go shopping with their moms for college dorm gear. I can not think of a more excruciating exercise. I'm still surprised I somehow made it through that multiple times. I still get nervous at the end of August. Ah, remember the extra long bed scam where they make all the college dorm beds a specific size so you have to buy specific college sheets?
