Be careful if you buy an Apple Watch from this store, or any other electronic device. Bought a Apple Watch 3, when I got home and opened the box there was an Apple Watch 2 inside, went to the store to return it and demand an explanation of how that could happen and all they said is that they couldn't help me and treated me like I was trying to scam them, and flat out refused to track down the box serial number to find out who handled it. I've been pretty disappointed with the selection at Austin Target stores, and this location is no exception. It seems like this is the go-to Target for everyone looking for very inexpensive, quality makeup (think NYX and E.L.F.). Nearly every time I go to Target, the makeup facings are picked over worse than those of an Ulta during a 40% off sale. I don't order makeup online (Hey, I like to see the actual shade before I purchase!), so it's frustrating that I can't find the products in stores. Update 8/8/18: Lordy, lordy. Let's start off by saying that the associates are SO NICE. Seriously, some of the nicest (but not overly chatty) I've ever met. Go Target! That said, I came in with a list of four items. Left with six. (Joke's on you, Target: the two extra were low-margin groceries!) It took me 45 minutes to find these items. Why? -The newish layout is still wonky. Like, why aren't the kitchen items next to the food? -Poor signage. Some aisles are missing labels, so you have to walk 1/3 the length of the store just to figure out where the heck you need to go next. -Too many displays of one item. Do you know how many aisles contain water bottles/travel beverage containers? FIVE!(plus at least one endcap). Just put the darn things in one aisle in kitchenware so we can see our options without having to walk around the store. (The bottle I was seeking ended up being located in the "Fitness" aisle...'kay.) -Products out of stock. This Target still has an issue with keeping items in stock. Looked like half the kitchen items were gone. Target, you could've sold me the most expensive spatula you sell in this store, but guess what? You were sold out, so you lost my sale to whatever retailer I visit next (let's be honest--it's probably going to be HEB.) Walmart does better stock planning than you. read more

Came here to look for a pair of shoes for a job interview. It never fails whenever I am shopping in the women's section or for shoes great everything is in a chaotic mess. This time the shoes blew me away. I should have taken a after shot of spending 20 minutes organizing everything myself and laying out piles of empty shoe boxes that were on the shelf's or another pile where only one shoe was located. The women's section is usually just as bad in regards to wrong sizes being everywhere and items being put on wrong racks so you have to dig through everything to find the same item. I understand customers move things and place things where they should no belong but that is why staff is there, to keep the store orderly and in working order! read more

This has been my 'home' Target for the better part of 10 years. That said, I've seen lots of people get walked out in cuffs, find stolen property in the bathrooms and generally it's pretty sketch. There is irony in this, of course, since, morally speaking, there's not a dime's worth of difference between the two(1). But... I can't complain about Target. Apparently, Target Corporation owns state-of-the-art crime laboratories which surpass even those of the FBI. I've been going to this Target since I moved to Austin in 2008 - it was easy to get here using the Cameron Road UT shuttle bus (Pro-tip to all UT students!) and boy howdy, do I love Target. All of my jobs have been close to this Target and now, my new house is also close to this Target. Basically, this Target and I go waaayyy back. Sometimes this place is a total disaster area - I just attribute that to all the people who shop here being heathens and not knowing how to not make messes. I always see staff members straightening and organizing things and I feel bad for them that they can straighten an entire aisle and some little jerk will go and mess it up a minute later. Why, y'all? Watch yo kids, watch yo wife, everybody's makin' messes up in here. That star of the show at this Target is the cashier, Erin. If she's working, I always go in her line because she is the sweetest, cutest thing. Genuine, friendly conversation and she always seems so chipper. I really appreciate that and I am seriously impressed that the ever-loving suck that is a retail job has not broken her spirit. If it does get to her, she doesn't let it show for even a second. I want to know her secret because she seems like she's got life all figured out. If Erin is not working, everybody else I've encountered has always been friendly, too. I don't know what it is about this location, but I've encountered more friendly employees at this location than in pretty much any other location in Austin and, believe me, I've been to pretty much every single Target in this city numerous times. (Except the Target on 183 near Tatsu-ya. I've only stepped foot in there once and didn't even make it past the registers.) At the time of this review, this Target is going through a renovation and plans to sell groceries in mid March. Yippeeee! Even though the location is not in the best of areas (Capital Plaza is still around?) the selection in this store always surprises me. They always carry the items I need - be it furnishings, cleaning supplies, clothes or beauty products. I guess the rest of Austin is NOT shopping at this location, which is fine by me. More for you damn lucky readers of my reviews. Also, for the Maternity mavens - I always manage to find some of the Liz Lange collection under the clearance racks. Nothing wrong with the clothes, just ones and twos that are not part of the remaining collection in the Maternity section. So don't pass these racks up! read more

This is the ugly step-child of Target stores in Austin. It's in a not-so-hip shopping centre in a slightly less-than-upscale neighborhood. But - given all that, it's still a decent Target store and it now has a grocery section - so they are OK by me. Complaints? None I can think of. read more

We pronounce it, Targé. Cuz you can seriously get things like organic cotton 300-thread count sheets for $60 (whole queen set, not one sheet). Our other running joke, "They have it." They usually do, and at a reasonable cost. I never thought I'd say this--I was against department stores taking on "departments" I don't think they should--but I now shop the groceries, regularly. You CANNOT get 1/2lb of RAW nuts for $4.25 (with coupon and Red Card) anywhere else. Not even close! Coupons? Just go the website and print them out. Red Card? I recommend it: mine is only a debit card, and has saved $20 in six weeks on groceries. Not kidding. That, and I feel good 1% of my total purchase is now going to Reagan High: pick your school. It doesn't affect your price, at all. Maybe if I shop enough, they'll get rid of the metal scanners to go to class and keep the art department. Everyone who works here seems happy, and are extremely helpful when you can't find it. I actually really like their own brands of foods: the Market Pantry and Archer's Farms. They're pretty good. Just have a way for me to virtually shoot screaming children with my shopping cart, and you get five stars. read more

This Target is filthy, dangerous and difficult to get to. It needs to be moved or renovated. I've almost been hit by cars in the parking lot multiple times. There is no easy way to get into the plaza it's in. The selection is ok but the store is dirty or disorganized most of the time I'm in there. The lines at the registers are usually unnecessarily long for how empty it is. I hope Target pays attention to their Yelp reviews. read more

I just want to give a meow-out to Target for providing the wonderful Hello Kitty alarm clock my breathing food distributor employs. Now I know exactly when she's supposed to wake up, so when she hits the snooze button I can get right on her chest, bite her finger and go, "Meow-wow" (Nah-uh-uh, I know you're supposed to get up so you can feed my rumbling-tumbling tummy). Wow, pardon my suburban elitism, but this place is old-school! I think I had forgotten what the old department stores from days of yore looked like until we came in here. Now, granted, they are remodeling and added a grocery story and what not, but it was so odd to go into what used to be the normal style department stores (real quiet, low ceilings, etc.) and feel like its a blast from the past. Technically we found what we needed and all was well, but the cashier staff left a little to be desired. I'm not certain that our cashier said a word to us the whole time and he let the greeting card we bought go inside of the conveyor belt pulley. I like the affordable prices and convenience, but the staff here seems to suck. It took for freaking ever for our checker to ring us up the last time I came, and when he couldn't figure out the price on a few items he would just stare at us (my friend Angela and I). She caved and said she didn't want the stuff he was having trouble ringing, but I just stared back at him until he got in touch with someone to get the price. Then he still didn't know what to do when he had the price, and the other employees who helped him didn't help him very much, even though it was obvious he needed it. I came here before when my mother was in town to print some pictures, and the girl who helped us at the photo counter was great. Putting up with my mom can be difficult, because she's very curious and has very poor technical skills. (she struggles with her apple notebook) She's the reason this place is getting 3 stars. I do like a lot of their clothes and bathroom stuff though. I got a really cute shower curtain and hangers for it here. Also, target's store brand food (archer farms) tends to look more appealing than it actually is. Snazzy packaging and interesting recipe ingredients, but usually pretty bland. =P read more

The employees are nice and the selection of items are okay. However, BEWARE of MAJOR PANHANDLING at this location. Today an older homeless man cornered me at my car and started yelling obscenities at me and grabbing his "junk" when I would not give him money. The thing is this guy was only targeting women--especially women with kids. I went inside to report him and the manager stated that the man was trying to give kids cupcakes yesterday Eeew! Manager said they have APD on site and a "strict no panhandling policy" but I didn't see a single cop car or security. This is not the first time I've been approached by someone begging at this location, but this incident was the most aggressive. If this BS continues I will drive a few extra miles to a different Target. read more

Dennis was very helpful with all the questions we asked. 10 dollars a mth and the phone was 15 and is a flip phone. It is nice knowing how helpful they are. The 9 dollar phone was too big, so went with compact phone. One year deal is better. He explained the concept of how these non contract phone works. It is a nice black compact phone. Wish they had business card holders and more purses here that i liked. Need to go to office depot for that thoufh the associate and i dont understand why they dont have holders. The staff at this Target location are always very friendly and helpful. The selection is not as good as other locations but it is a smaller store. This Target was like any other Target location except the frozen food section with sensors. It was one of those ways to save some power and the lights would be off until you walked by the sensors. The layout of this Target was similar to other target locations so the grocery section was on the right side while the electronics was at the back center of the store. Let me just start by saying that I love Target. So much that I even own stock in it, so it's not like I have a beef with Target. This location is just....not put together well. I feel like whoever is doing the ordering here is doing a poor job. They are always low on items. I love their home decor section but often I find it bare. The clothing section is usually a disaster and it's hard to find an associate to help you with anything. The checkout lines are usually okay and the checkout staff is nice. I shopped this Target location a few times over the last 18 months. The staff has been friendly. Store is pretty nice store. I love shopping after Holidays to get deals for decorations for the following year. I was able to get some awesome deals for 40% and then 70% off. The only thing I don't care for about this location which really has nothing to do with the store but rather with its parking lot and or maybe a security issue. There is people in the parking lot who approach you as your walking to your car asking for money because she needs help to Pay a bill Or they want to sell you some perfume. Honestly I would shop here more but being approached while walking to my car at night in the dark can be alarming or scary. read more

Terrible customer service. Checked online that they had the product I wanted prior to coming in. When I came in it wasn't on the shelf. I was told by 2 people they didn't know where it would be and offered no help.
