The cleanest, most organized Target location I've ever been to in such a long time. I've only said the same for two other locations in the past : Pasadena when they FIRST opened many years ago. I was a kid and my mom used to take me to the upstairs cafe for breakfast, and yes they used to serve eggs and toasts . Second one was Costa Mesa when they first opened the Target Greenland location. I know there's also Super Target locations but only found those huge but not necessarily somewhere that got a "wow" out of me. Not sure if it's because all the Target stores have gone downhill with the lack of customer service and even how dirty the aisles and shopping carts are, but of all cities, I was surprised this El Monte Target has somehow became my fave store. The parking is huge, the outside is welcoming, the inside is even bigger. The aisles are wide, the staff are SO friendly. The dressing room looks better than most Target stores around the area. Let's not talk about how pretty the Starbucks is inside the store. Overall, this will be my go-to Target location. Great selection and everything is easy to find. I finally went to the new target that opened in El Monte and WAU it's gorgeous ! Everything is so clean (since this is fairly new) & it feels a lot bigger than the other targets I usually go to. Everything here is well-stocked & the workers who helped me out last time were super helpful. The only con is I wish they had an Ulta in the beauty section -- but issok the other ones near me have that. Even the parking lot is HUGE & it isn't super busy here whenever I come. Newest target in the area! I was surprised by this addition of target considering there's a target two exits away in both east and west directions of the 10 freeway but glad it's here! This is actually my favorite location in the area. I feel like it's more calm here compared to other locations like Rosemead, Baldwin Park, Alhambra, and both Pasadena locations. I would compare this to the Duarte location as they're both less chaotic and crowded. I like this location the most because in addition to it being less crowded, the shelves seem more organized and well kept and it's bigger. Customer service is always good too. Sometimes I have issues with my app when I pay at self check out and the customer service people always help me resolve them. It has happened twice and they are quick to help me every time! Did some shopping for Christmas decor , and staff were very friendly & helpful when I was looking for a specific item. Got some great deals while I was there, and definitely will be back. read more

Place is always dirty, smells funny and shelves are always bare. Everytime I come to this store, it never has anything.

My friend and I were here about a month ago and we were looking around having a laugh and conversation when my friend mentioned that someone was following us. This person was in normal clothes and that so we didn't assume security. Finally after about 10 mins my friend approached the closest employee and mentioned it to them and they just ignored it. We finally got what we wanted and headed up front my friend was getting her wine and i was waiting at the end of the checkout. Now mind you I am 47 and look way older than 21. The cashier asked my friend for her id and she provided it to them and then asked me for mine. I didn't have mine right on me but in her car. The cashier then grabbed the wine and voided the transaction. Ok so no biggie we got it but she got in her radio and called security. The guy who had been following us around came up and asked us to go in the back with him. We asked tor what reason and no we didn't feel comfortable. He said be believes my friend stole something and he needs to check her purse. My friend is beyond confused and upset she dumps her purse out on the checkout counter and the little security guy starts grabbing things from her purse and saying thesd are our. She had sunscreen from target and a few lipsticks that were her and also she had a bag of candy. Mow mind you she is in tears at this moment. I explained that we hadn't been near the makeup section and her lipsticks are all used and yes the sunscreen is from target but we had been to see a baseball game of her sons and we had used it. And the snacks were unopened because she didn't realize that it was the wrong one. At that moment my friend asks to see video of her doing this and the guy says i saw you. She goes i put on chapstick when were walking around. Finally she demanded to see proof, at that moment the guy gets flustered and says that because he heard i didn't have my id and we were trying to purchase wine that because of that we were being trespassed from the store at that point he wants our ids and to take pictures my friend grabbed her stuff and started to shove it in her purse and the guard grabbed tge sunscreen and tried to take it. She didn't want to fight with him about it but showed him a picture of us 2 hours putting sunscreen on laughing and at that point he is bright red and just tells us to give him our names and takes our pictures with his phone. My friend walked out and he followed us and threatened to call the police on us because we had stolen. My friend finally got in her car and left my poor friend was driving away in tears called to talk to someone there ans was hung up on four times... she went to target corporate and they are investigating the incident read more

This Target's checkout policies are ridiculous and a waste of time. They have a dozen self checkout stations but limit it to 10 items or less. My friend has severe anxiety and prefers using the self checkouts at stores but at this location, even when they explained the situation, the checkout employee said no. She wouldn't let them make two separate purchases and just said they'd get flagged for too many items. When they asked to speak to a manager they got he front end lead who also wouldn't make an exception. So they ended up walking out without buying anything. Walmart has Scan & Go and never makes issues if you have more than 10 items. Guess I'll be shopping there form now on. read more

Pretty large store with good selection of products that you'd typically find at a general merchandise store. There's a Starbucks at the front too. Everything is neatly organized and well lit. There's a lot of stationery, women's clothes and toys near the entrance. Further back are electronics, home decor, home small appliances, and the grocery section. Deals are about as you would expect, follows the typical weekly ads. It's well stocked and staff here seem very relaxed and efficient operating the store. Parking area outside is huge and there's several parking spaces for drive up pick up orders. read more

They even sent me a $5 coupon to my house and was able to redeem that without any issues. Typical target nonetheless but hoping it's still going to stay as one of the better/cleaner targets! The Starbuck inside this Target has to be one of the worst Starbucks ever. Both Starbucks and Target handle merch drop completely unorganized, discriminatory against pregnant people and people that don't speak English well. Security guy tried to intimidate my mom and threatened to kick her out, after she called them out for not being organized. And they put the safety of pregnant customers and others in danger due to their unorganized. I really hope someone in the corporate see these review and fire that security guy. Karma will get people like him for treating elderly and pregnant people like that. read more

Finally a neighborhood Target! Always went to the one in Rosemead to do my errand runs but I was looking forward to this one opening. I have no complaints as they have basically everything I need and a bit more. Can't wait to see what other plans El Monte has in store for this spot. Visited this target twice recently to pick up some holiday things. Also wanted to check out the new location, lol. Very nice & clean target in the same plaza as planet fitness. There were tons of parking when I went in the evening. Each visit has been pleasant so far. The workers were all very nice & welcoming. Had to go enjoy a brand new target location before it gets dirty & messy over the years. If it wasn't out of the way for me, this location would definitely be my go-to Target. read more

I love this target, i feel like it's a lot bigger than the Duarte one. I also love the new carts. It's always clean and they have a big selection of items. The customer service people are always nice and helpful. Bathrooms are also clean. And compared to other targets the area is a lot more well kept. I've used their drive up option, and they're pretty fast to get your items to you, was there for less than 5 mins before they came out with my items. Some of the employees have an attitude but everyone is overall very nice. Definitely my favorite target go far! read more

Never again will I come to this Target. My poor brother was racially profiled and completely humiliated. He was followed and stop at the exit after BUYING his items (which was done clearly on camera). When my mother called to speak to the manager of LP for this messed up encounter, the LP manager was completely rude to her and made excuses for his employees behavior. No one else was stopped. No one else around was disrespected, just my brother. With everything going on in today's society, why make it worse? Do better and perhaps actually catch the real shoplifters. read more

Visited Target for the second time and my experience was not pleasant. I was looking for batteries for my carport remote and had to go down every aisle in the electronics section. I stopped midway to check the aisle of where I could find these batteries on my phone and found the aisle number on the app however it was a mission looking for it. As I was looking for it a security guard was following me as if I was going to steal something. No one bothered to ask if I needed help. Instead of finding me suspicious, that security person should have asked if I needed help. It wasn't until I took initiative to ask the first employee that I saw which was after I had looped the whole store, that they told me the location. However it was the wrong one because another employee had to tell me where it was. Extremely disappointed in this Target! read more

A couple of friends and I (all 18) cruised through aisles in the store, picking up items of interest and returning them if we didn't want to buy them like a normal customer would. Halfway through the store, a security member approached my group and told us we were being kicked out. Out of confusion, I asked for a specific reason, to which he responded, "I don't know. I was just told to escort your group out, but you could come back another day." Twenty minutes after leaving, I walked back into the store to ask customer service why we were kicked out and made it clear that I would leave after being given a reason. In response, the lady behind the counter called security to clear up the discrepancy. I was instantly greeted with attitude and disrespect from the security guy working in the front (a whole different person I haven't met yet). I explained my situation as I did with the customer service member, and he told me, "You guys were probably messing around." After being outright profiled, I maintained a calm demeanor, still insistent on a clear, specific answer to why I was kicked out. Finally, he contacted the security guard, who escorted us out and said, "Yeah, you guys were messing around and are not allowed at this location again." Although frustrated that I still never got a specific reason for being kicked out, I kept my promise and left. I am baffled and outraged at how I was treated, mainly because it was my first time at this location. It was one thing to be shamefully escorted out for no coherent reason, but to be disrespected and profiled by someone who didn't try to understand my situation was absolutely outrageous. Not to mention, the first security guard suddenly manifesting a reason for kicking us out after telling my group, "I don't know," had me wondering if security REALLY had a reason for the escort. Furthermore, it's saddening to hear that others have shared similar experiences with this location. This is concrete evidence of why management at this location needs to be checked and corrected. People should not be kicked out for simply browsing items in a convenience store. Because of the rude, apathetic staff, I DO NOT recommend wasting your time at this particular target location. read more

I used to be a big fan of this target. But it seems that there isn't enough to do for Ashley at this store. I'm here almost daily picking up things for dinner or the week and this evening was no different. I went to the 10 item or less lanes, per usual, sharing a cart with my partner. Keep in mind the store is empty, absolutely no lines at all. We informed Sergio (10 item lane guard) we were splitting it and he said it was okay so we proceeded. Ashley then came over (in all her might) to scold Sergio loudly for us to hear saying "next time it doesn't matter if they are splitting it, send them to the other lines". Now I'm not sure what the issue was, maybe I would if it were busy? She then scurried off like the power hungry mole she is and when I asked Sergio for her name, he said "you can go ask her". Not sure why they feel the need to flex on the customers keeping them in business. Especially during all the target media these days. If you hate your job, you can find another one? Also, shouldn't there be a dress code for managers at target. Ashley looked like she just woke up from a nap. read more

I am here first time for waiting my car maintainance. I am shopping here few minutes ago. I buy two one makeup for $10 and the other for $5.before I go checkout. The workers yelling me get out of here.I even don't know what happened.They are so rude.I think they think I will stole these.Actually I am not.I am walking out and try to figure out the exit.The workers there are ridiculous and rudeness.I am so scared and don't want to say anything.This target store make me impressive.it is really a bad bad bad experience.They yelling me and don't give a chance to say anything.They think what they think.and treat me like a thief.I should call police at that time .i am so angry. hello. i am so absolutely upset that i literally had to download yelp and make a review... the customer service from the front guest services desk is crazy rude ( from ONE person ). this store just opened and i am already having issues?... that's crazy. i've shopped at target for years and never had to report anyone before or let alone had such a bad experience. this review is about crystal (name might be wrong but most likely right.) she has blonde/reddish hair, blue eyes and is chubby. i was price matching a doll and she came up in the middle of my transaction with a STANK attitude literally raising her voice saying "you've already came before and i already told you once that you can't do this anymore. it was a one time exception." like girl what're you talking about?.. i'm price matching an item?... and i've only gone to guest services twice to return some items my mom didn't need. so idk what she was on about. regardless if i price matching items 80 times a day that is not her business.. since when am i not allowed to price match items?... i told her idk what she was talking about and she continued by saying "you've came before with some dolls and i told you i wouldn't do it for you again, i'm going to deny service and i am not going to assist you with this" i was baffled by the way she came up here yelling at me in front of about 7 other associates embarrassing me as if i was stealing?... the attitude was absolutely so unnecessary especially coming from a target employee. target employees are normally SO SO nice. i've had a few issues with lazy employees at this store but never were any of them rude to me. idk if she confused me with someone else or is just blatantly discriminating me but she embarrassed me and my mother in front of so many people and the way she's most likely going to be let off the hook with a warning IF anything.. i can't even shop here anymore in peace without knowing i'm going to get some stank attitude from her or if she's going to have someone jump me lol. this woman needs to be taught manners especially if working at target. that behavior is so unprofessional... definitely watch out when going to guest services desk in the front.... i already spoke to a manager and complained and he was absolutely super helpful so i appreciate that. i did cuss a lot bc of how overwhelmed i was but besides all that every other worker there are such cool people and genuinely make me feel so welcome. but that lady (crystal) coming up to me and yelling at me scolding me as if i was some child made me look so stupid in front of everyone and that's not something i'm going to tolerate. this store just opened and there's already issues (with her customer service). read more
