I cannot believe they have Target in Times Square. The bulldog logo sign outside the store is very cute and attractive. You can just take a lot of pictures and post with it. The entrance lobby is big with 2 elevators and escalators. The thing about this Target is that it is extremely small and is not a super store like the ones in the suburbs. It's cool how they made space for this Target in Times Square. They do not have the $1, $3, and $5 value item section in this location. I wish they have that. There are many good steals with that. They have many self checkout kiosks in this location and a ramp to the food pantry towards the back of the store. They have many travel essentials by the checkout section for tourists since Times Square got a lot of tourists. read more

Go downstairs and you're in a mini-Target, with a reasonable selection of items given they aren't a full-sized Target, and good for tourists and locals alike for the basics if you forgot anything. One of the oddest targets I've ever been into, It's downstairs , they do not have the best selection of many different things, it felt like a giant drugstore, they had a lot of snacks drinks and beer, beauty products, some cleansers, and home products. I am surprised to see Target in the middle of Times Square. I think it is great to have a bit of affordable shopping in a tourist belt. The place is quite small and you need to get down either the stairs or escalators to get inside. Elevator is available too. My friend wanted to get Theraflu and it was locked in a glass cabinet. Glad there's a target that popped up near PABT and the Times Square area to grab a few items like a forgotten phone charger or power bank. The store is two levels down from street level and you can either take 2 sets of escalators or an elevator. The upper lobby area is a good place to rest for a bit (no seating, but you can enjoy the AC, and get out of the outside elements for a bit). Surprisingly, even though it's on 42nd Street, some of the grocery items are on par, and sometimes cheaper, than a grocery store. When the eggs were sale, it was $2 a carton, which was cheaper that the $2.99 I was seeing in a suburban NJ supermarket. It does suck that most of the personal hygiene products are behind locked cabinets and you have to ring for the workers to come unlock it for you. There weren't enough workers at the self checkout area helping to keep the line flowing and helping customers with the check-out machines. There were so many empty stations to check-out but the people in the front of the line weren't paying attention, not was there a staff member to direct them to the open registers, which definitely delayed the lines a bit. read more

I love that there was a Tarjay... when I was in Time Square. It's like 2 levels. A lot of people loiter I'm the lobby to charge up their devices etc and no one says anything. I was in a hurry and wanted to save my phone battery for my friend's visit so I didn't take a lot of photos. I did get this photo of the outside. I've been ordering online because the typical store is limited in their merchandise variety. This store is full of great merchandise. This is a brand new Target location and the facade is very bright and colorful. Upon entering, you will see elevators and escalators, leading down to the Target store. This store is all on one level and has, pretty much, everything you will need. That includes a pharmacy. As my pictures will show, you will find items from produce to women's apparel. The store is very clean and the aisles are clearly marked. I noticed a lot of Target employees, addressing price tags, stocking shelves, and/or maintaining the store in order. There are ALOT of self checkout stations, but just a very few cashier assisted stations. Massive, everything on one floor Target in the heart of Times Square. Go down two escalator flights and be amazed at the layout. There are some Targets that are larger and situated on two levels, but this one carries a little bit of everything . You will most likely find what you're looking for. The back part of the floor is a mini supermarket in itself and offers much. The aisles were well maintained and orderly. It was not overly crowded when I visited which was a good thing and self checkout was quick. Compared to the Target in Herald Square, this location is a lot more appealing with an abundance of merchandise. Check it out. read more

This Target is located in Times Square. H and I came here to grab some drinks and some snacks. We didn't want to spend too much at a cafe shop or elsewhere so Target was perfect. Target was not that busy when we showed up and that was around 9 pm. They are probably much busier during the day time. The store outside was so eye catching. It has many big bulleyes/target logos and the giant Target dog on a big screen. I couldn't resist but to take a photo of the screen. Anyway, they have almost everything you expect to find at Target. It is not that big compared to other Target locations but that is probably because of its location and the size of its store. You will find, clothing to everyday household items like toothpaste to drinks and produce. It is very clean inside and nicely organized. Definitely a good place to shop. read more

Heard that they had opened a new target in the middle of Midtown manhattan. Since I work a few blocks away, i went over to take a look. When first approaching the store, the outside view looked amazing. It made you believe that the target was multiple floors going up. While entering the though you go down 2 levels to lead to the entrance. When going down you you first see a view of the entire floor. Everything looked so organized and neat. If you continue to walk down the main isle you end up towards the produce section which was full of fruits and vegetables. The checkout line was quick. They had both self service and cashiers ready to help. read more

As the Target brand grows its presence in New York City, I have to keep resetting my expectations about what a Target store should be. In New Jersey the Targets are generally big standalone stores with aisle after aisle of goods from food to sporting goods to toys and more. They vary in size, but they are almost all larger than many of the ones in NYC. One of the first Targets I ever sent to in NYC was the one at Albee Square in Brooklyn, and that one is multiple floors and huge. The same can be said for the one in Elmhurst, Queens. However, in Manhattan Target is slotting itself into spaces that are much smaller. By that standard, this new Target in Times Square could be considered "medium" sized. Under a giant, shining Target sign you enter to find...escalators and elevators that take you downstairs into the store. The store itself stretches back pretty darn far and it has small versions of many of the sections I described above. For instance, the action figures are pretty much bunched up in one section of an aisle, but they don't take up the whole aisle like they would in Queens or New Jersey. Many brands of self care items like toothpaste don't take up quite as much room as the do in larger stores and the variety of brands is not as expansive. Still, if you are staying in the area or live around there, this isn't a bad place to grab something quick. I only interacted with one staff member but she was nice and able to answer my question. As a toy collector I generally hit any Target I pass by so this one will get repeat visits from me when I'm in the area. read more

The store is huge and well kept. I came in looking for a hat and their clothing department was right off the escalator. The selections were pretty small, however. No hats available and there wasn't much option like other targets. Maybe because it's in the city? Right off time square? I probably go to this Target in Times Square to go grocery shopping 3 or 4 Times a week. I live in Washington Heights and avoid that one at all cost. The Target in Times Square is the best one in NYC. Everyone who works there is ALWAYS kind, friendly, and helpful. Tonight I was there and 3 amazing employees took time to talk to me and make me feel special: Shai, Taty, & Zharit. They were so nice and kind and they ended my busy day on such a positive note! Plus, for the most part, Target in Times Square always has most everything in stock there. I stopped (gave up) going to the Washington Heights Target, because they never have any of the groceries in stock that I need. It's always a pointless trip and waste of my time, so now I zip down to the Times Square Target, and always leave happy...like tonight! Nicely organized and neat Target in the heart of Midtown/Times Square area. Located right between 8th and 7th Avenues, opposite of Madam Tussad's Museum, on W 42nd st. Not exactly a huge store but has enough for various grocery and household and personal care needs. So far the nicest Target I've been to, in terms of Manhattan and Brooklyn. This is one of the smaller Targets located in NYC. They have a good selection of groceries and food as well as all other things most Targets have. It's always very crowded though since it is located in Times Square. I've done a pickup order before which went very smoothly. It's in a basement so you lose reception the farther back you go, but you can connect to the wifi if you need to look anything up while you're there. read more

Complete waste of a shopping trip here: 1. Lots of items here are locked up in cases, and you have to wave your hand under a sensor to ask an employee to come unlock the case. I came right at 8am and there were lots of employees and few customers. I waved my hand under a sensor repeatedly. No employee ever came, and I waited a long while. So I gave up and didn't buy the item I needed. 2. Self-checkout was closed. 3. When the store opened at 8am, other customers and I were waiting outside. She further went on about the cost of living is different in different locations as the reason why . I told her that is not Target policy, That Hells Kitchen just today had price matched the identical item per prices on Target site & showed her the receipts & she insisted HK is not following the Target policy!! I told her she had been effectively brain washed by the store manager! To quote other neighbors posts "Target used to price-match against many large companies such as Walmart, Kmart, Sams club, Wegmans, etc... promising to match the lowest price. The Target In HK and 42nd upcharge on almost all their products anywhere from 20¢ to $4 (and up on more expensive Items). I always use the price match because on average I am saving $5-15 when picking up every day items. Over the last year they changed the policy to only match those same Items against any of their target stores across the country... however they have sneakily now "put the power back into the customers hands" by having them scan the items themselves inside the the target app to see the best price Instead of having the customer service rep/staff price-match using their device. The issue is that, the app uses your location and the barcode to reflect THEIR price in store and not the market price they charge In other locations. I asked him why he can't change It and he said that's the new policy. This Is beyond a joke. I asked the guy if he thinks will change - and he said "No, you're in the minority who use it so it probably won't effect people" Just to give you an example: A 4x pack of canned tuna on target site is $3.79 but $4.99 at HK Half and half (G&G)is $2.49 on their site but $3.79 in HK Target brand cheese $1.99 on site but $2.99 in HK ^^^^^ That is nearly $4 more on 3 food items... As a NYC native I'm going to say that this store was a waste of a trip into midtown. First off, it was very messy and out of stock of mostly everything. I stopped in around 1pm today; majority of the staff were socializing and just talking about some really ghetto stuff on the floor. Disgusting chat that was embarrassing and I don't know why they kept coming in my space sharing personal space to share stories when literally it was more than enough room. And if you are in the space of a customer be mindful because the things they were sharing would definitely not come across in a positive way if I contacted the corporate office and shared the disgusting deets of their plans for later on. So since they were on top of me the entire time I shopped I decided to ask a young lady named (begins with a " D" in the beauty & skincare area; for her privacy I will just write the first letter but you can figure which employee you placed in that area. However if Target wants to know exactly who it was just pm me and I'll share her full name from the tag and her friends. I asked "D" for help and she was completely dismissive but watching me the entire time like I need to STEAL from Target. First off it was just an uncomfortable experience and it's a pattern in a few of the city locations I see. If it's 3 of you crowding my personal space and pretending to keep your area tight; (while practically on top of me watching my ever move like I'm about to steal out of Target.) So concerned about me being someone familiar from social media and sharing this with coworkers but giving a nasty attitude when someone asks you to get an item that requires an employee to unlock the area. Their phones were out so idk what they were doing. I just know that it was 3 females employees in my personal space and I was not even comfortable to enjoy my shopping. As someone who comes from working in the Times Square culture I was so disgusted and I won't be visiting this location ever again. Maybe I caught an off day; I can't go by the previous reviews below because after my experience I will never return to this location at all. To think that the 86 location was a drag and then I come to Times Square and experience this. I rather just order from the online shop. If you're traveling from far than maybe this is a good "to go" Target. I am writing for Manhattan I'm a customer of Target I have noticed in the last 2 weeks at Target has removed the option of buying the most affordable size of their generic 2 pack paper towels in every single store in Manhattan forcing you to buy the more expensive varieties I don't believe this to be an accident I believe it is to generate and force higher sales in this region I do believe denying people in Manhattan this option is a violation of the New York City department of consumer affairs I will be reaching out to them to find out why this new policy is in place I've tried multiple times to contact Target guest services in every single instance I get someone from the Philippines or Asia who doesn't understand the single word I'm saying and when you try to Google Target call center us you get no numbers I think this is really horrible the target stockholders to institute this policy and inflict this crass business model and those of us who live in Manhattan read more
