Every time I shop at Target I contemplate getting locked in on purpose, and re-play all the hijinks from the movie Career Opportunities. Hanging out with all night with Jennifer Connelly would not be a bad thing. But those pesky criminals trying to rob the store would definitely be a hindrance. Seriously though, this is a really nice Target. They recently re-did the interior, and while everything is nice and new and they sell food, it's rough because I DON'T KNOW WHERE EVERYTHING IS ANYMORE! Grrrr, but whatever, I can re-learn. I used to be like Nicole K. when I was in college and my parents and loans paid for everything. Hated Wal-Mart and Target, advocated buying American on everything. Then the real world hit me like the buzz you get after double fisting 2 Long Island Iced Teas when the bartender yells out last call at 1:30. Now I'm struggling to keep my balance, my wallet is usually empty, and I don't give a crap about the politics in my purchases, just give me my frozen food and cereal cheap so I can flop down on the mattress and rest easy at night. That's the main thing I buy at Target. The groceries. I mean, this isn't a Greatland store, but for what they do have, it is cheaper than Safeway. Dry goods, bread, frozen dinners, snacks and soda are all cheaper. Sometimes I'll buy laundry detergent, shampoo and trinkets for the home there too because again, cheaper than most stores and the trinkets are a lot nicer looking than Wal-Mart's. I don't buy their clothes. They are cheap and look cheap...sometimes I'll spring for some socks because you really can never have too many socks or pairs of underwear. Target is, I suppose, in the long run, semi-less evil than Wal-Mart - although they gave a boat load of cash to just the Republicans in the 2004 election. But since those white men are out of power now I guess it's a moot point. Also for this particular location, there's a lot of parking, I've never had problems with homeless people or anything there, and usually the staff is helpful. read more

For some odd reason this store employs VERY slow cashiers' and directs most people through the self register line. I went into the store with a list to purchase approximately 4-5 items. They have minimal stock on hand and I found myself walking down the aisles wishing I just purchased the items online...however, there are a few things I wanted to try on first. The ONE item that was on my list and actually in the store was not available in my size. Most black color clothing items were either small or extra small and large or extra large....well obviously medium is going to be highest purchased SO order more of that size and less of the others. :/ Not pleased with this Target site at all...I generally buy from Citrus Heights and the one near Folsom, I'll stick with those 2!! The other minus was as soon as I exited the store I was bothered by a person asking for signatures or money (not sure what I just kept shaking my head and telling him I wasn't interested) though he was clearly not affiliated with Target, I feel the store manager should have some requirements in place for solicitors, such as if you have approval to stand outside the store you CANNOT approach customers. First make eye contact and let the customer approach you....gosh I was SOO not interested. I wont be frequenting this store in the future. read more

This is literally the worst target I've ever been to it's jam packed they're always out of stock and the cashiers are rude as hell I had one the rang my lemons up twice and tried to put my stuff back on the counter that slide rather than bagging area she kept complaining of being tired and new and wouldn't stop talking she held up the line obviously they don't train their employees another cashier tried to tell me I had to much stuff he was almost off and I shouldn't buy so many things don't come here unless u want a poor experience read more

So I have a comfort problem, when you change something and take me out of my comfort zone, WE'VE GOT PROBLEMS! On a serious note, I lvoe this Target, except for the fact that ever since the remodel, I no longer can find what I need, and that just scares me! :) I liek to go to Target and set forth a mission... Otherwise, I come out negative $200 in my checking account! No bueno! So I tend to not go to this Target anymore. Used to be my go-to store. However, lately it seems that every visit I make I'm left without the products I need due to poor or empty stock level. I inquired about the pattern as of late and the employee blamed it on the seasonal-changes. On this trip, I was looking for coffee filters, eye drops and chocolates. Apparently this is a smaller store compared to others which is annoying. All of the selections are small and if you find something and one target and come here, chances are you won't find it. The parking lot is annoying and I nearly get into an accident every time because no one else here knows what they are doing. The only good thing about this is the Starbucks, also they don't honor any Starbucks gold rewards so don't try to redeem them here, it won't work. read more

This Target is my target because of its convenience and proximity to my house. That said, it's your basic target. Picture semi-disgruntled and unmotivated employees in stained, oversized red shirts feigning courtesy and generally avoiding you in the aisles. They closed their garden section recently, for good. So I will probably go there less, as I often liked to pick up some annuals or veggie starts for my backyard. Instead they are revamping their food offerings to be more competive with local grocery stores. I suspect the big loser here will only be Muir Market and other local small liquor-store type venues since the closest grocery store in the downtown Safeway and Raley's on Freeport. I used to love target, now it is just so-so. Good for staples like toiletry products and birthday cards, but the quality of shoes, clothing and some homegoods is just enough to last about a year and make you come back for more. If you are looking for something specific you can go to target online and they will let you know if it is in stock at your local store. That is a good feature. Compared to other targets, it's probably about a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. read more

The store is a legit store. Only problem is the customer service there is always in chaos. Picking up the red phone for help to search an item used to be a quick call to someone on the other line... Now you just pick up the phone and wait almost five minutes for someone to pick up... At times, you just want a quick answer where you can find the backpacks section... The most mediocre Target Store you will ever shop at. Usually Target stores are stylish, clean, and hip. This Target store feels generic, dull, and sleepy. I guess if you want to be underwhelmed you should check it out for yourself. Come on now. Who doesn't HEART Target?!?! I mean, the $1 section is fantabulous! I always find great $1 dog toys there, even though they are stuffed toys for kids. This is the first place I browse when I walk in. And all the Go International Designers they bring on...it's great shopping for a girl...and it's cheap! This is the best Target location I've been to. The lot always has plenty of parking spots, the store is always clean, and the employees are generally happy to be there. I was also a bit thrown off due to the remodel, but once I learned my way around, it wasn't so bad. I mostly come here for my grocery needs. When I first moved to Sac about 3 years ago, I thought Safeway (expensive!) and the West Sac Walmart (not close enough) were my only viable grocery options. I was introduced to the Target grocery section and will never go back. The prices are great. Definitely less expensive than Safeway and comparable (sometimes better) to Walmart. Selection may be iffy at times; not that Target is lacking in stock, they just don't offer all of the brands/products others do. This is random, but I appreciate their huge collection of greeting cards--any occasion, and this place has got you covered. They have great prices on dvds/cds, but the electronics always seem a bit pricey. The home goods section is well-stocked and competitively priced, the tool section has all of your essentials, and my single experience with the photo counter was pretty good. It's annoying having to chase an employee down for the password, but that's minor. The employees (especially the cute elderly ladies) are so pleasant and seem genuinely happy to be working there! I don't think I've ever encountered a grumpy employee here. Even the woman that wanted to get OUT of there on Halloween night was pleasant about it and joking around with us. Definitely appreciated. For those sluggish days, they have recently added a Starbucks! In summary, Target is pretty much a one-stop-shopping trip. I shall remain loyal. read more

Bought a vacuum... Worked 5 times. Went to return it... No dice. I had the thing for like 8 months. Come on target. Also, they are really unorganized. If you want to get say... A paper towel dispenser or some drink coasters... Have fun. They will have 3 different styles but all hidden in different regions of the kitchen department. I asked two different employees to help me find these items... They were kind enough to point me in a "ballpark direction" so I searched for like 20 min like fricken Indiana Jones looking for the grail. A couple cute Chics work there... That's always nice. Don't get me wrong. Amazing store and great service. My only problem is that the target cafe employees live on they're "lunch break". We sat by the Starbucks chatting for about an hour and i heard at least 20 "sorry they're on their lunchbreaks"I've been here befor and i know from experience. They broke a girl's heart when she couldn't get an icee. When they came out and started trying to serve they had nothing to serve because it had been unattended the whole day. read more

I LOVE this place. I'm not sure how, but I somehow got on their mailing list for coupons and now I LOVE this place even more! You'd be surprised by how much more some of the brands they offer cost at other department stores. Before shopping at Target, I bought all of my Studio Nova Sante Fe dishware at JC Penny than was shocked to see it at Target selling at a "regular price" which was half of what I originally paid. I love browsing through their clearance sections (located at the end of the aisle) to see if there are any new brands I might try. Love them. Love them! read more

I used to like this Target...but after the remodeling not so much. I can never find anything or it takes me a long time to find what I'm looking for. Everything is switched around and makes no sense. One time I was looking for hand soap and just could not find it. You would think it would be by the dish soap but nope. I had to stop a clerk and asked her for help. It was located by the toothpaste aisle :/ One thing I still like about this Target is their bikini selections. Seems like they are always bringing in new ones (when in season) and some of them are really cute and cheap compared to a shopping mall. I also like their home department section. Nice furniture for a store like Target. I'm not feeling the grocery section though. I think it's kind of pricey...almost the same prices as the grocery store. You would expect the groceries to be cheaper. Walmart is cheaper :) Overall the store itself is very clean but not the clothing section. Too much clothes to cramp in a small area. read more

Yeah, so when I come into Sacto to see the friends and the brother, sometimes I need a Tarjay fix to satisfy the random needs shopping list (ankle socks, powerstrip, a plant for the bathroom, and so on). This Target is neither nicer nor trashier than the other Targets I've been to which isn't saying a whole lot. The overall selection is fine and the shelves decently organized, but I will say that the two plants I bought at this Target died after a few weeks. I have a number of plants and have always had success growing them. Many plant enthusiasts encourage home botanists to seek out conscientious nurseries with better quality plants, and I usually do. I guess the grad student budget got the best of me but now I'll have to replace them anyway, so lesson learned. Also a small amount of nostalgia for this place b/c my grandpa used to sit in their food area eating popcorn while my grandma shopped at the Asian market down the street way back in the day. 3 stars. read more

Yes, this Target is in a sketch part of town. BUT IT'S TARGET!! I will just about go to ANY Target location that's available. What I love about Target is that they seem to have EVERYTHING that I could ever need. Being that it's the holidays right now, I came here to do some shopping to find a few little gifts and knick-knacks to give my friends for Christmas. I must say, I left a very happy shopper! I found cute little baking/cooking mixes that I knew would make the perfect gifts for my friends. And they also have a GREAT selection of wrapping papers (hey Justin Bieber fans, they have Bieber wrapping paper, just an FYI for whoever's a fan), Christmas cards, decorations, lights, candy, etc. In addition to all of this goodness, they have a great selection of Christmas-themed foods. If you've been wondering where to get your mittened hands on a box of peppermint Oreos, this is the place! And how thrilled was I to find that they had the Holiday Funfetti Pillsbury cake mixes and frostings?! GREEN frostings?! I just about died. I grabbed everything as fast as I could and threw it into my cart. And what's this? HOLIDAY SKITTLES?! RED AND GREEN colors?! I'll take a bag of those too! I could easily spend over $100 in this store. But I knew that for my safety and as well as my wallet's, I had to get the minimum and get out before anything else crazy happened. I did find some good Christmas cards though. I will probably be making a couple more trips back to this store between now and Christmas since I saw a few more things that caught my eye. I gotta give props to Target on Riverside. For those of us in the neighborhood, we seem to be here at least once a week. Be it picking up school supplies or holiday cards or - tonight - shoes for my toddler. Tonight was one of those nights where I actually WELCOMED the Target worker asking if I needed help. I'm usually thinking, "dude, it's Target. I know where EVERYTHING is!" ... But they moved the toddler shoes, people. And I could NOT find them. This kind kind woman employee - who smelled great btw (weird that I noticed but I almost commented b/c I wanted to know the name of her perfume!) - came over and HELPED me find the shoes my kidlet needed and EVEN distracted my boy as I sized him (by shoving his Fred Flinstone feet into too-small shoes. Uh, woops)... She was SOOOOOO nice. And I said thank you multiple times. Hopefully loud enough for her managers to hear. But surely this will help too. I'm appreciative. Thank you Target. read more

While on a work trip, forgot some toiletries so found the closest one, which was this one. I've never been to Sacramento, so I was leery of where thins are. Typical layout of a Target and things are easy to find. This only issue I have with this location is the lack of cashiers. Yikes...only three that are opened on a Monday evening when each line averaged about 10-12 people? I'm not sure if it's due to under staffing or lack of employees who can run the cash registers. read more

It's been over a month since Target store policy on Riverside Blvd stopped limiting the amount of clorox wipes, alcohol and lysol sprays you could buy. But lately when I go and on occasion they have some of these items the store employees have horrible attitudes and act like the cleaning supply police and say you can't buy more than 1 item ..that is until they are corrected by their manager and reminded there is no limit. Target please properly train your poorly informed staff on correct policies!! I don't feel as a consumer it is my job to educate your staff and also to wait in line while your employees walk off to find a manager. Get your act together!!! read more

I love Target. As Target stores go, this one's just OK. Not the cleanest, not the biggest. But if you need TP or some makeup, it will do just fine. If you are wanting to do some shopping for your new home, I'd suggest hitting the one up on 65th/Folsom as it is much bigger. read more

Every time I go here.... the costumer service is always horrible. Whether it's the check out stand or the actually costumer service area. The workers definitely dislike their jobs at this location. Management needs to reevaluate what they're doing and help their employees out. read more

Meh! It's a Target. Clean, reasonably disorganized, well stocked. It is an A.D.D. nightmare just like shopping at a supermarket. It is always hard to find things. I usually shop online first (their website isn't any better, but it is searchable) and then go in and attempt to find the things discovered on their website. At least then I can ask by brand name or item number when I have a question. read more

Love this Target on Riverside. Chill location and close to everything and only a quick stop on the way to activities. Tons of parking. Located right on Broadway this location is constantly busy. I had a coupon for one free Tillamook ice cream which I brought to Target to redeem. The cashier told me that this store does not accept coupons for free items. I also wanted to get one trash can lid because I had the trash can already. I was gravely disappointed to find that you cannot purchase lids separately from the trash can body. read more

I enjoy going to Targets so I've been here many of times. I like that this one has a Starbucks. The biggest problem with this Target is it is in a bad location with a lot of homeless people and criminals walking around. A lot of ghetto people shop here also. Target seems to hire anyone they find in the streets because 75% of all employees never know shit and I can tell that they hate their jobs and they don't work or know how to do any basic skills. read more

This Target is way nicer since it's remodel, but I'm a Target lover, not a hater. This isn't the Target I come to most often, so when I walk in, I have to orient myself with their layout, but everything else about it is standard issue. When I'm coming to this Target, it's usually just to run a quick errand with my boyfriend, so I can't speak to its selection versus other Targets. But their service is comparable to any other Target in the area. read more

I like this Target, it's the closest to my home, easy to find stuff, the staff is helpful, and they sometimes have a good stock of items I need. Most of the time I rarely get acknowledged from floor staff, but when I ask where a product is they are very friendly and helpful. read more

This Target is okay, I feel like it's much much busier than the other locations around Sacramento. No matter when and what time of day there are always a parking lot full of people here. The do have a grocery section and all the newer Target updates. It's not in close proximity to my home, and I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this location, but it's a good store. read more

Clean, shiny, and new, but what on earth is wrong with the layout? The organization in the store makes very little sense. Half of the trash bags are displayed in the cleaning section, while the other half is tucked away in a corner devoted to paper plates. Hand soaps are split in two different locations. Come on, Midtown Target. All beauty supplies/toiletries/medicine and supplements should be in the same area. Paper towels and trash bags should be with cleaning supplies, not tucked in a corner behind the food. Very confusing layout, but this place has potential. Get it together! read more
