Cmon Target, get it together. I understand communication is key, but does the employees have to communicate about EVERYTHING? They are there to help customers, stock up on items and every task that's included in working. But damn, they're so into their conversations, that if you ask them for certain things, they'll get annoyed that you even asked. They literally just stand there and talk. They shouldn't be paid 11 dollars and hours to stand and do nothing. This Target is well organized and large, but very often the shelves are not fully stocked. I have been coming here for 4 months now checking back in every week or so to see if they have restocked the water bottles in the workout section, and they are still completely disheveled and low on stock. The employees are nice and helpful, but I have noticed that they have fought me on multiple price discrepancies and not given me the benefit of the doubt. If your signage is wrong, don't blame me. I was told once "if it's not coming up in my computer then you must be buying the wrong thing so I can't give you what the sign says." That's not very good customer service. Overall this store is conveniently located but very very busy in the afternoon. I love Target though and will always keep coming back for their amazing low prices and hip products! read more

I had to pick up some breakfast stuff for work since I'm down to only a few granola bars. In my mind, it's a choice of either cheaper prices but a ghetto store (Walmart) or a nicer store with higher prices. You hit the nail on the Target. Higher prices it is. I decided to head over to the new Target since it was on my way to Mama's house after the gym. New Targets are popping up everywhere nowadays. The one in Lathrop just opened not too long ago. The one in Pleasanton is about to open and this one by Brocade is only a a few months old. I prefer shopping at new stores myself. Love the shiny white floors, nicely stocked shelves, and carts that track straight are such nice amenities that I truly appreciate. When you step into Walmart, that navy blue with the annoying yellow smiley face just makes me feel like I took a step back in time for some reason. The patrons there either speak Espanol or Ebonics and not Chinglish, my preference. After picking up 4 boxes of breakfast bars, some bread, peanut butter, creamer, and chips, I quickly made it to the checkouts. The lines were short and I didn't have to wait behind Maria or Madea. This Target is right on the money. My guess is that the busy period is during the day when all the nearby businesses are open and people are scrambling to pick up a few things. Since there aren't a whole lot of homes (or homies or homeless) nearby, it's kinda quiet in the evening. And that's how I like it! read more

Was here on 01/06/2013 (see my yelp tip) My girls tell me the womens bathroom is disgusting and is worse than SF Public Bathrooms. Other stalls had no toilet paper, 1 stall hasn't been cleaned from what they described chili blew up.... As for the store itself. It's pretty much the same as other Target Stores. Except this is brand new, new friendly staff along with the new environment and ambiance. Sub-departments are maintained and aisles doesn't look messy. You can move your cart without running over a piece of clothing or trying to navigate thru narrow clothing aisles or food asiles. This store is large and has the room for 2 carts to move thry comfortably without having to watchout for oncoming traffic or making sure you don't bump into the other cart while one is stationed as a ptron is looking at an item. As with other Target Stores they are all the same and really nothing jumps out of my pants to say 5 Stars, 5 Stars!! This is a new Area that San Jose is trying to propogate and serve most North San Jose, North Santa Clara and Alviso. Unlike Mercado off Highway 101 which really has no Anchor Stores to serve the mainstrem famlies for everyday needs (Micro Center is now long gone and TJ Maxx and AMC remains to be a "Attraction Anchor". This new Shopping Center has many new shops and along with new eateries that will serve other notable business like, Force 21, Ericsson, to name a few. This Target has a new focus in which it can serve the employess of these businesses in which most will be the last minute "Honey Do list" Remember this is San Jose so bring your own bags!! read more

This is a really convenient Target that is right off of 237 near my old stomping grounds and that first Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in the South Bay Area as well as the first Chick-fil-a! I like that the parking lot is large, has ample parking, and each space has ample room so even a very terrible parker has no excuse to ding your door for the most part (despite that first Target photo on this listing ...) This Target is new, so it's well stocked everything is kept clean, and the inventory is very orderly unlike some other Targets I've been to. The staff are friendly and I always find everything I'm looking for when I'm here. read more

Its your average Target, but it smells so bad!!! The smell is probably from some bad construction materials like cheap carpet or glue. If you have to come here it is ok, just get in and out quick, but I would not go out of my way to come to this location. read more

This Target is well stocked. BUT The second you walk in you are hit with a strange smell like burning plastic. I lived with it while shopping. Then, when i got home I noticed the smell had permeated certain foods I had bought at the target- specifically ones that did not have plastic liners- like ice cream. Target should get to the bottom of what this burning plastic smell is- it's contaminating their items. read more

Not much to rate about here, your average super Target with grocery section. But seriously, they really should not have opened one so darn close to my house... Even on opening day my bf and I didn't have to fight for parking. I tried to get a shot of the fresh grocery section, but it turned out too blurry. wifey been needing a new crockpot since the old heating element recently bit the dust, so got a new one for almost $12 off, separate insert and one touch digital controls, oh yeah! the promotional section is pretty big, in this case Halloween. Should have gotten a shot of that. Decent selection of candy. However I was specifically looking door and wall seen setters, and they had none of that. some really stupid glitter skeletons that might work for a Halloween dance floor. No mist makers, no glowing skulls or ghostly shadow makers...ah well... I'm really happy with the food section. It's going to be nice to run in and get something quick and not have to hassle with Rivermark or going into Milpitas. This location has a "cafe" and there was even a line, lol. idk, but I did see some soft pretzels. if they're any good I'm deff in trouble, lol. In one pic you can see they need to work some kinks out. same item, same size, two diff prices. on my receipt they charged the lower price. check out was quick too. they seem to have enough emps to check to keep the lines down. now if they can just keep it as clean, well stocked and well employed as opening day, then we shall have a long and fruitful relationship. :p read more

This is one of the newer targets in San Jose /Alviso. Parking is always way to find . it's always clean when I come here stuff is pretty easy to find. Cosmetic is pretty well lit up makes it easy to find what you need. Me myself I don't really get to many food items here just things like snacks and chip or if I miss something at the grocery store earlier in the day. Other stuff I get here is Hygiene items, paper towels, Kids clothes if there's deals and electronics if there's deals. I Prefer target over Walmart any day. Make sure you check the board at the entrance for all sales items. And if you need coffee this location has a Starbucks inside. During the waning hours of a two day whirlwind business trip to Santa Clara/Sunnyvale, at 9:45 pm, I was informed by my wife that my 3 year old twins wanted "My Little Ponies" as their travel gift from California. Unfortunately, I had already settled in for the evening so I needed to find somewhere that was close and might have this product available and with a gas station near by (might as well fill the rental car while I was out). A nice, clean Tar-jay with reliable wi-fi, power outlets in the cafe, and free soda refills. I was able to get a half-day's worth of work done with no interruptions or sass. Since I *had* to do a loop before leaving the store, I ended up leaving with an unintentional pair of clearance sandals ($5) and earrings ($5). Dammit, Target - you did it again. I love this location it's so clean they have so many products it's fully stocked, and they have a beautiful beauty area. I'm very thankful for having interacted with Jaedyn. It was love at first sight. I love how huge this Target is from the parking to the overall layout of the stores. Everything including the cash registers and the aisles were spacious and I did not feel the need to be ever so careful pushing my cart. What I love about this location (compared to Landess Ave. and McKee/Capitol Ave.) is that there is no one at the front asking for donations. I donate quite often but at times when I make more than 2 trips to Target, I often feel pressured donating money because the person is ALWAYS there but w/ this location, I can shop freely w/o that mental pressure. read more

I'd just like to say thank you to the fun and fabulous Target manager who busted out in a fairly awesome rendition of "Backstreet's Back" - complete with choreography involving carts and customers. I just visited this target to checkout their black friday deals. I was buying three records as they had a buy two get one free record deal for Black Friday and all the records came up as normal price no special deal for Black Friday I notified the cashier and said the deal did not go through, and he said that for the sake of the customers in line behind us time that we must check out and then bring our receipt to guest service to apply the deal I told him that it was 10 PM on the dot and that they won't help me because they are closed since it is 10 PM. he insisted that they would help us because we just bought it. we went to guest services and Eddie the "manger" said that he cannot service our black Friday deal because it was past 10 PM. he continued to bicker with us for 17 minutes after closing time. Meanwhile, he could've made it right and apply the black Friday. we shouldn't have even had to come over to guest services and the cashier should've rung it up right so overall employees and training manager are extremely bad customer service and they are rude. i'm writing this up so that you know employees are not trained properly as cashier and managers don't support their employee and are extremely rude. Sad, but true, that this store is going down...what happened?! Since it opened in..idk, 3 years ago...it's always been clean, organized, fast check-out, helpful staff, but now... The biggest difference I've seen is the minimal amount of cashiers in the late evening/night time. There are long and slow lines with stressed-out teens trying to check-out frustrated customers. I remember there used to be an African-American male manager in the evenings and he kept things going and flowing. Bring him back and hire more people. Please. My family lives right across the street and its great to be able to get whatever you need (especially quick groceries, like if you want to spontaneously make cookies). Its great to not have to drive 10 minutes on the freeway or 20 minutes down the street. Its right there! And its super close to where I work so I always refer people there. There are food options as well, starbucks, pizza hut, taco bell. The only other things in the area are small random fast food places and sandwich shops (subway/togos). But nothing in the immediate area. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the location and the other construction that's going on. Since its new, the store and area are really clean too! Woo-hoo! Just what the world needed, another Target. What a fancy name too, Target @ First. However, in this case it is actually true and sarcasm doesn't do it justice. The area this store is moving into could seriously use an anchor store like Target. Not just that, but some place in the area to get groceries without having to go to a convenience mart or all the way over to Milpitas! If you've been to the Target @ San Jose Marketplace (aka Coleman Ave), then you are already familiar with the layout of this store. They are not ALL created equal, but these two are twins. Just like how they are placed in just the "right area" for those living or working in the area. I have watched in the past few (short) months that they have built this store from my work and pass by it several times a day. Now that it is finally open, I am glad to see they have put in the grocery section and that the layout is just what I am used to. The parking lot. Just a parking lot, right? Well, yes, but it is cramped and the layout leaves a bit to be desired. They aren't completely done yet with the lot, it appears, so perhaps some more space is on the way, but this is going to be a sore point for many people coming here, I imagine. I hope Brocade will be ok with folks parking in their lot and walking across, but I am betting not. Overall, the store is typical Target. That is in a sense a good thing to me. I've lived in San Diego, San Jose, Ann Arbor (MI), Buffalo (NY), and Oakland and this target is my absolute favorite. They have the majority of items in stock so you don't have to go there four times to get what you need (cough cough San Diego Target I'm looking at you), the staff is pretty friendly, and they have a really cool beauty and interior design section. Plus they keep it clean and organized* (*as organized as target can be). So all you target-aholics have fun in here. I've moved so I miss this location terribly. read more

This is my go-to target. First of all parking is no hassle here and the store is always welcoming and kept clean... yep even the washrooms. I usually find what I intend to buy and almost every time I end up buying even more than what I need Anyways, in the past few months I have seen better changes made to this store at Holger way, San Jose. It's never crazily crowded..The cosmetics aisle has been revamped and for a minute I thought I was either at Ulta or Sephora.. They have put all the mini versions of some of their products like witch hazel, conditioners, bath salts and so much more separately and beautifully organized, giving the space a new and fresh look.. This store has pretty much everything I need. The workers are friendly here. Sometimes they even approach you and ask if you would like some help finding things. I like going to the pharmacy here. Tonight I went there to purchase some medicine for my dry cough. I was assisted by a pharmacy worker by the name of Priyanka. She explained what the best medicine would be to alleviate my cough. In addition to that she took the time to walk me to the aisle where the cough medicine are located and handed me the one that I needed. She also suggested a natural cough drop. After that she gave me some advice on some natural remedies. Excellent customer service! I also love how this store has a Starbucks inside. It's so convenient. read more
