    Lamb Saag (medium heat)
    Sheila L.

I ordered the lamb saag with a mango lassi. The food came out quick and the drink was good albeit it was on the sweet side. Overall it was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. I ate inside and the seat had enough cushion for me! :) It bright and a nice place to chow down when I was on my lunch break! I had it at medium heat so that was perfect for me!! Yum!!!

My naan bread-I am one of those people that has the genetic issue with cilantro. It taste like soap to me. I ordered it without..

One of the things Tarka does well is making their food with consistent Flavors!! Their curry is very good. I also enjoy Samosa's, Aloo Gobi which happens to be vegetarian is also delicious! This time during our sweltering "fall" I also enjoyed their Iced Chai. Even in the heat I eat the Madras Soup. Of note there are some newer salads on the menu. Garlic or plain the Naan is good. Sometimes just to switch things up a bit I will have Roti or Pav. Some favorites are the Korma , t choice is the Paneer. It's so easy to order any of their curries with the many protein offerings they have. I see many patrons enjoying their Kabobs and today I am ordering the Kofta. We have lots of options for Indian Cuisine but I find myself at Tarka more often than not. Good , quick service, restaurant including restroom very clean.

Ordered lunch from here and it was just as good as I remembered! Pretty good portions and great flavor. Service was quick and everything was yummy! Definitely recommend

Tarka is quite consistent in the taste , the couple of times we visited. This is a casual take on Indian food, and I like the fact that spice level can be adjusted . Food has a more localized taste and flavor . Service is ok . They explained everything but didn't feel very friendly. We liked both the chicken biriyani and lassi. Mango lassi was very fresh and tasty! As you can see in the pic , the biriyani quantity was less. Not shareable( we got the takeout order)

Excellent chicken and lamb kebab. The sauce was great it filled my tummy! I did not order rice but requested pita. No pita but the food is so good I still have it a 4! Service on time for delivery at work for lunch!

Tarka is one of my favorite places to get some quick and casual Indian food! The seating is nice and open with your choice of either a booth or your typical chairs. And the samosas came out pretty immediately for us so we were able to just chill until our food came out. The prices are pretty decent for the amount of food you get and they don't skimp on the meat!

Absolutely my favorite place to get chicken tikka masala! I'm not super close so we don't come very often. When I do, I savor every bite with a smile on my face. The food is so aromatic and packed full of flavor. The artwork on the wall is so neat. I love all of the little hidden Austin specific decals found all throughout. I have never been disappointed when coming here and you never leave feeling hungry as the portions are generous.

When I'm having a craving for good Indian food, I know I can depend on Tarka. The food is always served fresh and the Order-to-Table is very fast. Today I enjoyed the lamb Korma. The sauce is thick and creamy with a wonderful smell and flavor. The lamb is tender with a distinctive flavor. Tarka will continue to be on 'My Keepers List'.

We ordered their combination which included a variety of veggies and meat. This display of the food is colorful. The injera itself has a light sour flavor to it from the fermentation, but I did like how it tasted against the different veggies/meats. We asked for more injera and the staff were kind enough to offer us more. The restaurant is large and spacious. Plenty of tables inside and the staff are all really friendly and nice. We walked in around 5:30 on a Friday and there were only two other tables but granted, it was early. Our waitress was lovely, very nice and attentive throughout. The standout was the Beef Sambusa appetizer. Hands down the best thing we ordered. I wish we'd gotten ten more of them. For entrees, my mother and I had the lamb tibs while my husband and dad got the beef tibs. Here's where things got a little disappointing. At $25+ before tax, these dishes are pricey, and it feels kind of ridiculous that they don't come with a single side. There also just wasn't much meat -- the plates were mostly vegetables. And it took forever for the entrees to arrive, over 25 minutes after the appetizer. With only two other small tables in the entire restaurant, that wait was a little concerning. We finished with the Dubaiklava, which was genuinely delicious, though at $12 for a dessert that isn't very big, it's another spot where the value feels off. I do like this place and want to root for it. But for what they're charging, they really need to bump up the portion of meat and add a side to the entrees. Might have just caught them on an off night, and I'd give it another shot but with a few tweaks, this could be a much stronger spot.

Young kids doing hard work on a friday evening instead of partying. And they did a great job!!! Second, the food: We had the soup dumplings, the won ton in the chili sauce, the minced pork noodle and the stir fry noodles with beef. The food was amazing, could be a little bit more spicy though, but they have some hot sauces and chili oil to turn it up a notch. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not to soft and not al dente. Prices are good, portions are plenty. Also, they have these super delicious garlicky cucumbers in a savory sauce/dressing at the self serve section. I should have taken more of those. It's a neat little place, they also have these cute little booths outside. I already know what i will try next time we go there. This place is up my (noodle) alley!

Simple seating, bamboo plants, simple wood furniture, red lanterns and a shrine-- it gives traditional without even trying. You can order either at the counter or directly at your table via QR code. I'd recommend ordering at the counter, since it seems like table orders take longer to get moving. If your body runs warm, their central AC isn't running and for the most part, I found myself too hot to even want to order noodles with broth. Instead, I opted for the Cold Sesame noodles, which surprisingly wasn't bad! NOTE: the picture overhypes the dish and the actual result/taste look nothing like it. It absolutely needed more dimension other than the cucumbers, lettuce, and carrots-- fried garlic, lime, peanuts, scallions, ANYTHING. The chicken was tender (THANK GOODNESS), but should have been more shredded. Small menu items: *The Taiwanese Popcorn: another one-dimensional item that could have been so much better. It needed more spices and BASIL! *Soup Dumplings: Came out deflated with not enough soup, but the good news: the dumpling wrapper was tender and the pork filling wasn't too bad. *Shrimp & Pork Wontons in Chili Sauce: needs more acidity, I added a few drops of vinegar and it made the dish perfect Self-Service: In addition to being able to order at your table, Noodle Alley has a self-service bar where they serve oranges (essential to end all Chinese meals) and cucumber salad. Though there seems to be some praise for the cucumber salad, we found it to be too soggy meaning it's been sitting for some time.
