Not bad honestly. My job gets us lunch on Fridays and we had Tarka. I got the chicken kabobs with extra chicken and mango cheesecake. Both were good. Consistent taste. Quick packing. We recently moved to Austin from Atlanta.... we wanted a quick bite and Tarka came up as the closest to us. We ordered twice . We ordered samosas, Paneer Makhani for our Kid, chicken Biryani, Malai Kofta, butter nan, garlic nan, jamun and Paneer Biryani. I ordered through Uber eats. They charge at least $2 above the actual price for each item. Curry Quantity is very very less and even 12 Oz container was half full. Also yogurt was served in chutney box which was smaller than standard chutney container. How can somebody eat biryani with that much yogurt? Be honest in filling the containers at least. The Chicken Tikka Masala was awful. The chicken was so dry that it required water to get it down. The sauce had absolutely no flavor. It was watery and the spices were harsh. This is a sign of not cooking it long enough to develop the right flavors and watering it down to go further. So disappointed! Not worth the money or return visit. Got served chicken when we only ordered vegetarian dishes. It completely ruined our meal. I served it on my plate and took 2 pieces of naan. My dad did too. As soon as I touched it I knew it was not vegetarian. Immediately told my dad to stop and told them they gave us the wrong dish. Told them to take away all the plates with that dish along with anything else in it. So we had partial food and just ended up eating that. They got the correct dishes pretty late and by then we had already finished. None of the curries tasted fresh. The naan is freshly made but does not at all taste like authentic bread. Feels too rubbery. This is a reminder for me to never again visit this place. read more

To my surprise, this place is the best I have had! I ordered Chicken Birayni, Samosas and Garlic Naan. The food was hot when it arrived and had amazing flavor! I love Tarka but they missed the mark tonight. Total lack of coordination. Food is sitting on top rail and only one guy delivering and he isn't moving fast. Lots of impatient customers waiting for their food. Drink station is low on carbonation. Ice machine is empty. Mango dispensers are empty. Iced tea is skunked. Nightmare all the way through. Facilities are clean and staff are welcoming. This is pretty good Indian food made with quality ingredients. Would definitely come back again. Only reason for 4 star is that they should have an option to straight swap rice for naan (instead of $0.50 discount on meal with no rice and then charge separately for naan). A friend invited us here on our visit to Austin and we loved both the food and the service. The food is authentic and comes in 3 degrees of spiciness. We chose the mild and the taste of the vegetables and the whole wheat rotis came through beautifully. My friend recommended their strawberry Lassi, and that was a must relish accompaniment as well.
